She worked at the 1st highschool in Tucson to host a "drag show"

Tucson High Magnet School (THMS), part of the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD), announced that it would host its first-ever drag show in early May. The THMS employees behind the event are Zobella Vinik and Sunday Hamilton, both THMS counselors that also lead the LGBTQ+ student club, “Q Space,” in which students learn about LGBTQ+ history and are encouraged to explore their identities. Vinik and Hamilton explained on the event announcement that the drag show would occur annually; the last day to sign up for the event was Monday, with a mandatory meeting for participating students on Tuesday.

TUSD spokeswoman Karla Escamilla told AZ Free News that the drag show was a club activity coordinated by TUSD students, not staff. The original social media post about the event identified it as the “THMS Drag Show,” with the username “@tucsonhigh_drag.” Escamilla added that the event not occurring in association with TUSD would constitute as gender expression discrimination.

These people are truly evil and sick!

The counselors created an Instagram page for the drag show, which followed one other account, THMS counseling, which followed the account in return along with the THMS yearbook account. The counselors also invited students to access a “drag inquiry form” using their Microsoft Office student account. AZ Free News was unable to access the form by press time. The original Instagram post of a flyer announcing the event was removed.

One of the counselors behind the event, Hamilton, is a transgender man whose legal name is “April Hamilton,” once a star student and athlete hailing from Cienega High School. In a podcast during her final year of working as a University of Arizona (UArizona) graduate student within the LGBTQ+ Resource Center, Hamilton asserted that the “binary system” of gender was “violent and harmful.” Hamilton said at the time that she really identified as a “nonbinary gay boy.”

“Black women are definitely seen more as masculine,” asserted Hamilton.

The other counselor, Vinik, serves as the educator support lead for Scholarships A-Z (SA-Z), an organization working to help illegal immigrants earn a higher education and relevant educational scholarships. Among the organization’s biggest donors are A for Arizona, Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, the Ford Foundation, Graesser Foundation, Joe Kalt & Judy Gans Family Foundation, National Justice For Our Neighbors, OneAZ Community Foundation, Resist, and Unitarian Universalist Funding Program.

While earning a degree in Peace and Justice Studies with a minor in Latinx Studies from Tufts University, Vinik organized “A Resolution to Establish Equal Opportunity for Undocumented Students” through the group she presided over, Tufts United for Immigrant Justice (UIJ), in a campaign to make higher education accessible for illegal immigrants at the school. Vinik’s work resulted in the university awarding admission and scholarships to illegal immigrants.

Vinik has also worked as a preschool teacher and a K-12 substitute teacher, and earned a master’s degree in school counseling from New York University last year.

“[Zobella] is working to unlearn practices maintained by white supremacy, capitalism, and patriarchy and recommits daily to prioritize mental health, community care, and visions for freedom offered by Queer BIPOC organizers,” stated Vinik’s profile.

Vinik was a radical through and through and was involved in multiple lefty organizations.

At a rally for Tufts United for Immigrant Justice (UIJ) on April 7, Dean of Undergraduate Admissions Lee Coffin announced an undergraduate admissions policy change to welcome applications from undocumented students, a result of the group’s continuous effort throughout the past year.

UIJ President Zobella Vinik called this change an “important step toward education equity.” She and other UIJ members have worked to promote this change through a variety of efforts that aimed to engage the student body and raise awareness for faculty and administrators.

One of the biggest breakthroughs occurred on Nov. 16, 2014, when the TCU Senate, in response to an appeal from UIJ, unanimously passed a UIJ resolution urging Tufts to change its admissions and financial aid policies to become more friendly toward undocumented students. The resolution also pushed for transparency in the admissions system for undocumented students.

To engage the student body, on Nov. 18, 2014, the group wrote an open letter calling on students to sign a petition demanding transparent changes in admissions and financial aid policies and requesting administrative support for this platform.

Vinik noted that the passed resolution and open letter were affirmations of student support for these issues.

As a result, on Nov. 20, 2014, the Undergraduate Admissions and Financial Aid Committee met to review the letter and open up discussion about the issues advocated for by UIJ, according to Committee Chair David Garman.

“We discussed what the existing Tufts policy was, asked questions about why the Tufts policy was what it was and then decided that we needed to collect more information and then talk to some other parties,” he said.

Garman noted that he then met personally with UIJ representatives to gain a better understanding of their goals for Tufts and to help them understand the process of how policy changes can move forward through the administration.

This set off a series of discussions between “key players” Coffin and Mary Jeka, senior vice president for university relations and general counsel, according to Garman.

According to a statement shared by Tucson police on Friday, the investigation was conducted after TPD’s child sexual abuse unit received reports that 29-year-old Zobella Brazil Binick had an improper relationship with 15-year-old Tucson High. School students outside the school grounds that started on May 3rd.

In a tentative complaint received by News 4 Tucson, TPD said Vinik’s ex-wife told law enforcement authorities that the couple allowed a 15-year-old child to live together at home. ..

She reported that 29 and 15 years old were lying together and recently found Vinik’s “underwear hidden under a bed pillow” where the student was sleeping.

TPD conducted interviews and provided multiple investigation warrants for recovered electronics in connection with the investigation of the report.

A review of mobile phones seized in the search warrant “revealed an inappropriate message between the two in favor of a sexual / romantic relationship,” the agency said.

According to a tentative complaint, TPD conducted a forensic interview on Monday, and the 15-year-old victim was reported to have “confirmed a sexual relationship” with a high school counselor. In the interview, the victim said, “the relationship became sexual around February 2022,” according to a tentative complaint.

After the TPD informed high school that the detective had found a possible cause for the arrest of the school counselor, Binick left himself to the detective on Wednesday.

According to the department, she was charged with one count of sexual activity with minors and booked in Pima County Jail.

Shortly after its release, the Tucson Unified School District issued a statement stating that Binick had resigned from his position as a school counselor.

The full statement can be read below:

May 4ththIn 2022, a detective in the Tucson Police Department’s sexual assault unit informed the administrator of the Tucson High Magnet School about an ongoing investigation into one of its counselors, Zobella Brazil Binick. The administration was informed of the alleged improper relationship between the counselor and a 15-year-old student at Tucson High School.

Working with High Commissioner Tucson, the district administration swiftly acted to remove the counselor from campus and take her off.

Our school’s safety department immediately began a comprehensive investigation into this alleged case that is currently underway.

On Thursday, May 5, 2022, Ms. Binick resigned from the Tucson Unified School District and is no longer an employee of the school district. The administration of the Tucson Unified School District will continue to work with the Tucson Police Department in ongoing investigations.

Our administration will continue to emphasize student health and safety as our top priority.

Investigation of the case is underway.

Never mind she went to school there in 2011. She was 19 I think. Then went off to Tufts private University in Massachussetts. But she was already a lefty if she was worried about the environment in 2011. Rich pedophile kids I guess.

FOUND THAT ACTION NETWORK IS PART OF OFA (Organizing for Action) and AFL-CIO (The American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations)

They blatantly tell the reader here they want cooperative design for social media.

Our Solution: Cooperative Design

We need a different model. One that gets the benefits of scale that technology companies offer but maintains progressive control. One where we can invest our resources confidently, knowing that the company won’t service Republicans or change mission at the behest of a Silicon Valley- or Wall Street-backed investment firm. One where technology grows with us and answers our users’ needs, rather than developing features to hit a sales quota.

As progressives, we believe that our movement’s tools should be cooperatively owned by the people who rely on them the most — organizers and campaigners in the progressive movement.

When big corporate actors, VC investors, or any entity from outside of the progressive movement invests in infrastructure the movement relies on, they wrench control away from the folks who rely on it the most.

We believe this growth-first, capital-backed model is wrong for the movement. That’s why we, in partnership with the AFL-CIO, developed a new-to-us model of cooperative design. Our shared goal: to create progressive movement technology that would be sustainable, responsive to movement needs, and reliably progressive.

We did this by creating development tables for both the Action Network and Action Builder toolsets. Members of the tables, all users, own our technology roadmap — what we build, and when we build it — meaning that we solve real problems for our partners. And their investment of time, money and expertise means that we can offer both platforms essentially at-cost to smaller organizations and campaigns. Plus, as an organization, we are entirely owned by a non-profit parent entity, which means our partners never need to worry that we’ll sell out to a corporation or investment firm or be so driven by profit that we lose sight of our mission focus.

Might I suggest headline for Arrested Lesbian school counselor?

Arrested Lesbian school counselor found to be pedophile who organized Queer Space Drag Queen event at Tucson Magnet High School and was heavily involved in Action Network's Undocumented Migrant Student Campaign
