The stalling of the peace talks is a result of the wish of London and Washington to drag out the Ukraine conflict, Lavrov claimed

London and Washington have been exercising their control over the Ukrainian negotiators with the aim of dragging out the conflict, and this policy has led to the suspension of peace talks between Moscow and Kiev, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov claimed on Tuesday.

Speaking at the New Horizons educational marathon, Lavrov said that Ukraine may have made its own decision in Istanbul, when it came up with some “acceptable principles for reaching agreements” during negotiations with Russia. However, according to the minister, these ideas were apparently not supported by the West.

“We have information coming through various channels that Washington and especially London ‘lead’ the Ukrainian negotiators and control their freedom of maneuver. They want to drag out the conflict, and it seems to them that the longer it will last, the more damage they will inflict on Russian servicemen,” Lavrov said.

The foreign minister doubts, however, that “transferring the conversation to the level of Washington or London” would be able to change anything in terms of the progress.

“Anyway, neither London, nor Washington, nor the West as a whole has put forward any proposals,” Lavrov said.

The West actually acknowledged that Ukraine is “expendable in a hybrid total war against the Russian Federation,” Lavrov claimed, citing remarks by the EU, UK and US officials who have said on multiple occasions that Russia should not be allowed to win in the Ukrainian conflict.

FDA Authorizes Pfizer Booster Shot for Children Ages 5 to 11 Years Old

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Tuesday expanded the emergency use authorization for the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, authorizing a booster dose for young children ages 5 to 11 years old, at least five months after they received their second shot.

“While it has largely been the case that COVID-19 tends to be less severe in children than adults, the omicron wave has seen more kids getting sick with the disease and being hospitalized, and children may also experience longer term effects, even following initially mild disease,” said FDA Commissioner Robert M. Califf in a statement.

“The FDA is authorizing the use of a single booster dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine for children 5 through 11 years of age to provide continued protection against COVID-19. Vaccination continues to be the most effective way to prevent COVID-19 and its severe consequences, and it is safe. If your child is eligible for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine and has not yet received their primary series, getting them vaccinated can help protect them from the potentially severe consequences that can occur, such as hospitalization and death.”

The EUA for a single booster dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine for children 5 through 11 years of age is based on FDA’s analysis of immune response data in a subset of children from the ongoing randomized placebo-controlled trial that supported the October 2021 authorization of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine primary series in this age group. Antibody responses were evaluated in 67 study participants who received a booster dose 7 to 9 months after completing a two-dose primary series of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine. The antibody level against the SARS-CoV-2 virus one month after the booster dose was increased compared to before the booster dose.

Eleven Republican Senators broke with Mitch McConnell and voted “no” against the latest funding of Europe’s most corrupt regime.

On Saturday several US Republican Senators went to Kyiv to meet with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy for a photo-op. Mitch McConnell led the delegation.

The Senate voted on Monday evening to advance a bill to send $40 billion more aid for Ukraine in its war against Russia, setting up a final vote possibly on Wednesday.

The tally was 81 to 11 on the first of a potential three procedural votes paving the way for final Senate passage of the funding, requested by President Joe Biden’s administration to keep aid flowing and boost the government in Kyiv nearly three months after the start of the Russian invasion.

All 11 anti votes were Republicans showing how an isolationist Donald Trump-allied wing of the party has split off from the mainstream.

It comes after Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell led a delegation to the region in a show of support for Ukraine.

‘There’s always been isolationist voices in the Republican Party,’ he told reporters on a conference call over the weekend from Stockholm.

And we need to stop people from entering our country before they pull back Title 42, John. Because then, like you said it’s 18,000 people a day pouring in.

I said take it, it’s yours, do with it what you will, but just please enact this for the safety and security of Arizona. I can see he’s pulling pieces out of it but he needs to make a full measure, rather than a half measure here because we’ve got to have people on the border stopping people from coming in. Right now, they just pour right in. And then they become our problem and I think it’s really cute that some of these governors are putting the illegal aliens onto buses and shipping them to Delaware or DC. But John, they still remain our problem when that’s happening. We need to send these buses back to the border and unload them back across the border. France, Germany & Italy Favor Negotiations To End Ukraine War

The three European leaders have all signed off on sending weapons to the Ukrainians but have also been calling for a ceasefire. After speaking with Putin by phone on Friday, Scholz wrote on Twitter: "There must be a ceasefire in Ukraine as quickly as possible."

In an address to European Parliament last week, Macron said, "We are not at war with Russia." He said that Europe’s “duty is to stand with Ukraine to achieve a ceasefire, then build peace.”

Draghi met with President Biden last week, and after the meeting, the Italian leader, who previously discouraged talks with Russia, said it was time to start thinking about a peace deal. "We agreed that we must continue to support Ukraine and put pressure on Moscow, but also begin to ask how to build peace," Draghi said.

After the Biden-Draghi meeting, the White House still appeared to be uninterested in negotiations. "We feel the most constructive role is to continue to support the Ukrainians’ hands at the negotiating table and support them militarily," White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said.
