-The Buffalo Bills once had a 17 year playoff drought, the second longest drought in NFL history.
-That playoff drought ended in the 17th week of the 2017 season.
-The following spring Josh Allen was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the 1st round with the 7th overall pick (1-7).
-Josh Allen wore jersey number 17 at Wyoming and wears 17 for the Bills.
-He became the 17th starting QB for the Bills since Jim Kelly retired.
(I only started making note of this utter silliness in the 2021 season but I feel like there’s more meaningful occurrences of the Holy Number 17 during Josh’s first 3 seasons. I need the Mafia’s help here.)
-Over the 2021 season, the Bills won a league best 7 games by 17+ pts.
-In Jan, 2022 the Bills set an NFL record of 10+ pt wins in a row with 17 wins. In that 17th win #17 had a passer rating of 17. (I mean, come on, right?)
-In the 17th game of the first 17 game NFL season in history the Bills beat the Jets by a margin of 17 points.
-In the ‘21 season the Bills finished with the top scoring defense in the league for the first time in franchise history, allowing an average score of 17.0 points per game. (This ☝️ is the one I read this morning that finally forced me to post this Jim Careyesque nonsense)
