The Department of Homeland Security has 'paused' it's newly created Disinformation Governance Board, after its head, Nina Jankowicz, was called out for being a Russiagate truther, and going full "libs of TikTok" with creepy Disney-themed songs in a fake British accent - lending to the nickname "Scary Poppins."

According to the Washington Post, the 33-year-old Jankowicz "was thrust into the spotlight by the very forces she dedicated her career to combating," and has been "subject to an unrelenting barrage of harassment and abuse."

Yes, because the head of a brand new Orwellian department shouldn't be questioned.

Now, just three weeks after its announcement, the Disinformation Governance Board is being “paused,” according to multiple employees at DHS, capping a back-and-forth week of decisions that changed during the course of reporting of this story. On Monday, DHS decided to shut down the board, according to multiple people with knowledge of the situation. By Tuesday morning, Jankowicz had drafted a resignation letter in response to the board’s dissolution. -WaPo

On Tuesday night, DHS officials had an urgent call with Jankowicz where they gave her the choice to stay the course, even if the work was put on hold.

According to the report, "working groups within DHS focusing on 'mis-, dis- and mal-information have been suspended."

WaPo points to early tweets by journalist Jack Posobiec for launching what became an avalanche of attacks on the "Ministry of Truth."

1,000 Azovstal Fighters Have Surrendered Since Monday, But Top Commanders Remain: Kremlin

According to fresh statements from Russia's defense ministry Wednesday nearly 700 more Ukrainian fighters have surrendered at Mariupol's Azovstal steelworks plant since the initial Tuesday reports that 300 had laid down their arms, with the wounded transferred to a Russian-controlled hospital.

This would bring the total number to almost 1,000 fighters surrendered, according to the Russian statements. The Russian MoD counted "694 Ukrainian fighters who had been holed up in Mariupol’s Azovstal steelworks have surrendered over the past 24 hours, according to a report by the country’s RIA news agency."

Leaked memo says Biden administration is preparing for violence after abortion ruling

The Department of Homeland Security is preparing for an increase in political violence after the Supreme Court hands down its official ruling on Roe v. Wade in the coming weeks, according to a leaked memo reported Wednesday.

First Axios and then Fox News published details from a May 13 memo revealing that federal law enforcement is investigating threats made on social media to "burn down or storm" the Supreme Court building. Pro-abortion-rights activists began making such threats earlier in the month when a draft majority opinion leaked to Politico indicated the court had voted to uphold Mississippi's 15-week abortion ban and overturn the landmark Roe decision.

Pro-abortion protesters have called for a "summer of rage," with the expectation that the court will roll back abortion rights. Republican-appointed Supreme Court justices have already endured potentially illegal protests outside their private homes, and the headquarters of a pro-life organization was attacked with a Molotov cocktail in Madison, Wisconsin.

The DHS memo reportedly says that threats made against Supreme Court justices, lawmakers, churches, and abortion clinics "are likely to persist and may increase leading up to and following the issuing of the Court's official ruling."

Violence could come from both sides of the abortion debate, according to the DHS.

"Some racially or ethnically motivated violent extremists’ embrace of pro-life narratives may be linked to the perception of wanting to 'save white children' and 'fight white genocide,'" the memo reportedly says. It also warns that extremist acts could come from pro-abortion radicals.

But heated rhetoric surrounding the debate should not be confused with calls to violence, the memo says.

"The mere advocacy of political or social positions, political activism, use of strong rhetoric, or generalized philosophic embrace of violent tactics does not constitute domestic violent extremism or illegal activity and is constitutionally protected."

In a statement, a DHS spokesperson said the government "is committed to protecting Americans' freedom of speech and other civil rights and civil liberties, including the right to peacefully protest."

"DHS is also committed to working with our partners across every level of government and the private sector to share timely information and intelligence, prevent all forms of violence, and to support law enforcement efforts to keep our communities safe," the spokesman said.

Last week, the Department of Justice said it is monitoring threats made against Supreme Court justices.

"Attorney General Garland continues to be briefed on security matters related to the Supreme Court and Supreme Court Justices. The Attorney General directed the U.S. Marshals Service to help ensure the Justices’ safety by providing additional support to the Marshal of the Supreme Court and Supreme Court Police,” said DOJ spokesman Anthony Coley.

‘Pharma bro’ Martin Shkreli released from prison early

Convicted “Pharma bro” Martin Shkreli was released from federal prison Wednesday, less than five years into a seven-year sentence, his attorney said.

“I am pleased to report that Martin Shkreli has been released from Allenwood prison and transferred to a BOP halfway house after completing all programs that allowed for his prison sentence to be shortened,” his attorney, Ben Brafman, said in a statement.

Shkreli, who was convicted in 2017 of defrauding investors in a series of his hedge funds, was by then already a renowned and reviled figure for jacking up the price of anti-parasitic drug Daraprim in 2015.

The price of a single pill skyrocketed overnight from $13.50 to $750 — a staggering increase of 5,500 percent.

As a result of his fraud case, Shkreli has also been barred from ever working in the pharmaceutical industry again.

Despite his notoriety, Shkreli’s release was met with praise from some corners of the internet.

A man named Edmund Sullivan shared a photo on Twitter announcing Shkreli’s freedom.

“Picked up this guy hitchhiking. Says he’s famous,” he wrote, along with an image of the ex-con in the back seat of a car.

Philly schools reportedly encouraged teachers to attend trans sex conference

The Philadelphia school district’s diversity office reportedly encouraged its teachers to attend a transgender conference where they were exposed to explicit presentations about kinky sex, masturbation and adult toys.

The district’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion sent educators invitations to “learn more about the issues facing the trans community” at the Trans Wellness Conference in July 2021, conservative activist Christopher Rufo said.

The district “encouraged teachers to attend a transgender conference on ‘kink,’ ‘BDSM,’ ‘trans sex,’ ‘bigger d–k energy,’ and ‘banging beyond binaries,’” he said on Twitter.

Rufo said the three-day event at the Mazzoni Center featured speakers including trans activist Chase Ross.

In one video shared by Rufo, Ross demonstrated how to use a variety of dildos.

“‘It’s a big boy. This is, like, gigantic,’ he said during one demo. ‘Give me two hours alone and I’ll get this in my butt,’” he added.

German Boxing Champion Musa Yamak Dies After Suffering Heart Attack During Match

Musa Askan Yamak, a 38-year-old professional Turkish-born German boxer, died after suffering a suspected heart attack during a match in Munich on May 14, according to reports.

Yamak collapsed in the ring on Saturday when he was in the middle of a fight facing Ugandan veteran Hamza Wandera, RT reported. He collapsed and fell unconscious on the canvas right before the start of the third round.

Hasan Turan, a member of the Turkish National Assembly, offered condolences to the late boxer’s family and fans several hours after news of his death broke, saying that he wishes “God’s mercy on the deceased.”

“We lost our compatriot Musa Askan Yamak, a boxer from Alucra, who won European and Asian championships, at a young age after a heart attack,” Turan said on Twitter.

“We met at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey when he came to Ankara for the competition,” the official added.

Paramedics were immediately called to the arena as trainers and medical personnel on the scene rushed into the ring in an effort to rescue Yamak, but they were unable to revive him.

German news outlet BILD, citing a police spokesman, reported that the paramedics who rushed to the scene were initially disturbed, but not hindered, by “emotionally charged fans and family members.”

“To ensure the safety of the paramedics, we sent out a lot of patrols … We then set up a protection corridor on-site so that the paramedics could work safely and conscientiously,” he said.

Yamak’s trainer and supervisors disagreed with the statement, saying viewers and fans helped by administering first aid before the paramedics arrived.

“We dismantled the ring and ropes ourselves to make it easier for the medics,” they told the paper. “To make it easier to lift the stretcher into the ring.”

Yamak started his professional boxing career in 2017 and gained recognition in the sport after winning the WBFed international title by knocking out Belarusian boxer Siarhei Huliakevich. He was undefeated with a record of 8–0, including eight KOs.

His death is the second recorded in the ring this year.

In January, Armenian-born Russian boxer Arrest Sahakyan died after suffering a knockout defeat in a fight in late December, sports newspaper MARCA reported.

The 26-year-old suffered a swell on his brain and fell into a coma for 10 days before passing away on Jan. 7.

NATO Takes Command of US Carrier Strike Group for Massive Drill

The USS Harry Truman aircraft carrier strike group and other American warships have come under the command of the NATO alliance for major military drills in the Baltic, Adriatic and Mediterranean Seas.

Dubbed “Neptune Shield 22” (NESH 22), the war games will run from May 17-31 and involve 19 NATO members, among them Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, the UK and the US.

A NATO press release said several US ships will come under the control of the alliance’s Naval Striking and Support Forces command – also known as STRIKFORNATO – for the duration of the military exercises.

“During NESH 22, we will conduct the handover of command and control of the USS Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group (CSG) and the Combined Task Force 61/2, which includes the USS Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), and the 22d Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) from SIXTHFLT to STRIKFORNATO and the wider Alliance.”

The Neptune Shield drills are a part of a larger series of military operations launched by NATO in 2020 called Project Neptune, an initiative meant to improve integration between the STRIKFORNATO command and the US Navy’s 6th Fleet. Earlier this year, 15 ships and some 90 aircraft took part in another round of drills known as Neptune Strike, also conducted under the same project.

The UK is currently leading another group of NATO members – as well non-members Ukraine, Georgia, Finland and Sweden – in military exercises just 40 miles from a Russian military base. Among the largest drills of their kind in decades, the “Hedgehog” exercise will kick off later this week in Estonia and continue until June 3, intended to simulate a Russian invasion of the Baltic state. A total of 15,000 troops from 14 countries will participate, according to NATO.

The US Just Parked A Fleet Of Aircraft Carriers Right On China’s Doorstep

Multiple U.S. Navy aircraft carriers have amassed in the waters east of China, the U.S. Naval Institute reported Monday.

The USS Abraham Lincoln and USS Ronald Reagan carrier strike groups, the USS America expeditionary strike group, as well as the USS Tripoli are operating in and around Japan, Taiwan and the Philippines, according to the U.S. Naval Institute fleet tracker.

The exercise marks the first time two America-class ships, the USS America and USS Tripoli, have operated in the Asia-Pacific region at the same time, according to The Daily Caller News Foundation’s translation of China’s Observer News.

Though the USS America and USS Tripoli are capable of carrying helicopters and fighter jets upon their flight decks, and thus resemble small aircraft carriers, the ships are classified as “amphibious assault ships,” according to a Navy profile. Amphibious assault ships are configured to support land-based operations, whereas aircraft carriers are optimized to dominate naval and air encounters, according to RealClear Defense.

The arrival of the U.S. Navy warships near China comes just a week after the USS Port Royal, a Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser, was shadowed by China’s Eastern Theater Command while conducting a freedom of navigation exercise through the Taiwan Strait on May 10. The USS Port Royal’s trip came in response to the Chinese military surrounding Taiwan to the east and southwest between May 6 and 8 in a “rehearsal” for a “reunification-by-force” operation.

The largest iteration of the Liaoning aircraft carrier group to date also participated in China’s aerial, naval and ballistic live-fire war game in the waters off Taiwan after conducting military drills near the U.S. Navy base at Sasebo, Japan, on May 2.

The Liaoning aircraft carrier group is now reportedly operating near the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group, according to China’s Observer. The USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group conducted “dynamic deterrence missions” and “long-range maritime strikes” in the Philippine Sea on May 13, according to the Navy.

The Department of Defense and Navy did not respond immediately to The Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

Federal judge rules Indiana school must allow transgender student to use boys restroom

The transgender student had asked to play on boys sports teams and be addressed with male pronouns

Judge Tanya Walton Pratt, an Obama appointee, has denied a motion from the Metropolitan School District of Martinsville to put on hold a previous injunction forcing John R. Wooden Middle School to allow the transgender student to use the boys bathroom, WTHR-TV reported.

Pratt ruled the district failed to show evidence that proved it would suffer "irreparable harm" if the student was allowed to use the boys restroom.

"In addition, the School District has not presented any new arguments or evidence to demonstrate that the public interest weighs in favor of maintaining the School District’s authority over such matters until more clear and direct guidance on Title IX is provided," Pratt wrote.

Louisiana AG’s investigation into 2020 election fraud concludes it really was rigged

In order to promote “safe elections” during the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) plandemic, Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan reportedly spent more than $400 million on the 2020 election, which we now know was a complete fraud.

This is according to Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry who recently concluded an investigation in the matter, which found that the 2020 election really was rigged and riddled with fraud.

Landry recently released a new documentary called “Rigged” that exposes the plot to steal the election from Donald Trump and hand it over to Joe Biden and his crime family syndicate.

As soon as he heard that Zuckerberg provided money specifically for Louisiana through a group called the Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL), Landry got to work probing the matter further.

It turns out that CTCL filed a grant application in September 2020 to get that money, which is right around the time that Landry figured out that the group runs “contrary to what we believed the law was in Louisiana.”

“We believed that the ability to inject direct money into our election system was prohibited,” Landry says about his state’s system.

One month later, Landry and his office decided to sue CTCL because it refused to stop offering money to Democratic parishes throughout the state. The case initially received an unfavorable opinion but was later appealed and is now ongoing.

While it has not technically completed, the case already shows beyond a shadow of a doubt that shady dealings occurred to ensure an unfair election outcome that was not reflective of how We the People actually voted.

Russia-Ukraine Peace Talks Not Happening in ‘Any Form’ as Ukraine Toughens Stance

Russia says Ukraine hasn't responded to a draft peace deal it put forward on April 15

Almost three months into Russia’s war in Ukraine, there appears to be no hope that a negotiated solution will be reached anytime soon. On Tuesday, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko said that the warring sides are not currently holding peace talks “in any form.”

“No, negotiations are not going on. Ukraine has practically withdrawn from the negotiation process,” Rudenko said, according to Interfax.

The New York Times reported on Tuesday that Vladimir Medinsky, who headed the Russian delegation in earlier negotiations with Ukraine, said Kyiv hasn’t responded to a draft peace deal Russia put forward on April 15. A Ukrainian negotiator responded to Medkinsky’s comments by saying Russia was operating with “fakes and lies.”

The Times report says that the impasse stems from Russia’s desire to control “vast swathes” of Ukrainian territory, although the contents of the April 15 peace proposal are not clear. Russia had earlier asked for Ukraine to drop its claim to Crimea, which Russia has controlled since 2014, and recognize the independence of the breakaway Donbas republics.

While Ukraine has been slowly losing territory to Russia in the east, Kyiv has hardened its stance at the negotiating table thanks to massive military support from the US and other Western nations. “Now that we feel more confident in the fight, our position in the negotiations is also getting tougher,” Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said last week.

On Sunday, NATO pledged to give Ukraine military support for as long as it needed, and the US is preparing a massive $40 billion aid package for Ukraine. Once it is signed into law by President Biden, the new aid package would bring total US aid for Ukraine in 2022 alone to over $53 billion.

Leaders of NATO countries have been actively discouraging Ukraine from holding peace talks with Russia. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said that he “urged” Ukraine not to negotiate with the Russians. He reportedly told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in an April 9 visit to Kyiv that even if Ukraine was ready to sign a deal with Russia, the West was not.

The US and many of its NATO allies have also made clear that one of their main goals in Ukraine is to hurt Russia. According to the Times, Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas has said the West needs to push for a military defeat of Russia rather than “a peace that allows aggression to pay off.”

U.S. Census Bureau Keeps Hiring “Unsuitable Individuals” with Criminal Records

Thirteen years after a federal investigation blasted the U.S. Census Bureau for hiring criminals to enter American homes to gather statistics for the decennial count, a new audit reveals the disturbing practice continues. In fact, more than a decade after the problem was exposed workers for the 2020 count were not properly vetted and many with criminal records had direct interactions with the public. The most recent probe, conducted by the Department of Commerce Inspector General, found that “dozens of employees who worked on address canvassing in advance of the 2020 census had major issues flagged on their investigations, which typically means employees are automatically disqualified from their federal jobs.”

Chunks of the 28-page report are redacted but the gist is well conveyed, that the Census Bureau has long failed to screen its workforce and therefore endangers the public. It’s not like there isn’t a vetting system in place. When one of the 248 regional offices recruit a candidate, the Census Investigative Services (CIS) at the agency’s headquarters in Suitland, Maryland is charged with conducting a pre-employment suitability review. The process includes sending fingerprints to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and a credit history as well as self-disclosed criminal record to CIS for review. Nevertheless, the Bureau still hires felons—including sex offenders—at regional offices nationwide. As an example, a few years ago the Charlotte, North Carolina Area Census Office (ACO) employed a man convicted of a felony involving sex with a child as a regional recruiting manager because despite his criminal record, he passed the Census Bureau’s background check.

The Bureau’s negligent security practices have been on the radar of federal lawmakers for years. Over a decade ago, Congressional investigators slammed the agency for failing to adequately conduct mandatory background checks for tens of thousands of workers, resulting in the hiring of hundreds of violent criminals. At the time, the probe found that more than 35,000 temporary census workers were employed without the proper criminal background check, which includes fingerprinting. That means that more than one-fifth of the canvassing workforce did not get properly processed or fully screened for employment eligibility, creating an obvious security risk. More than 200 of those were subsequently determined to have criminal records yet were in constant contact with the public while canvassing for the 2010 census. Investigators said the criminal record checks were bungled because the Census Bureau’s incompetent staff was poorly trained to conduct them.

Twelve years ago Judicial Watch reported that the Census Bureau knowingly hired a registered sex offender with a long criminal history to make home visits even though such convicts are banned from working for the agency. The embarrassing gaffe came to light when a young mother in a New Jersey suburb recognized the census worker who came to her home from the state’s registered sex offender database. She initially thought it was safe to provide the man with information because he was a legitimate government worker with a badge and bag sporting the U.S. Census Bureau’s official logo. Incredibly, the sex offender used a fake name to get the census job but failed a fingerprint check after getting hired. The agency still let him to complete four days of training and allowed him to visit homes even though he did not pass the background check.

The latest audit, released last week, shows that virtually nothing has changed after all these years and that the Bureau has done little to improve its derelict hiring practices. Investigators found that at least 6,802 census workers were not properly adjudicated, “resulting in persons with significant issues working for the Bureau and, in some instances, contacting households during the 2020 Census NRFU [Nonresponse Followup] operation.” In cases when CIS adjudicators actually vetted employees, the watchdog found that they often failed to request necessary documentation to assess the severity of the issues raised. Stressing that background checks are a critical process to help protect the nation’s interests by establishing trust in the federal workforce, the IG points out the obvious in its recent report: “The lack of oversight increases the risk of unknowingly allowing unsuitable individuals into positions of public trust, which could cause harm to the bureau.”

Russian forces opened fire on Israeli fighter jets from an S-300 air-defense missile system during the May 13 Israeli attack on Syria, Israel’s Channel 13 reported on May 16.According to news channel, the unprecedented incident occurred at the end of the Israeli attack, which targeted a military research complex near the town of Masyaf in the western countryside of Syria’s Hama.

According to the Russian Reconciliation Center in Syria, Syrian air-defense systems shot down 16 of 22 guided missiles Israeli fighter jets launched during the attack on the complex. An Israeli drone was also shot down while taking part in the attack.

The Israeli attack claimed the lives of five people, including three service members of Syria’s air defense forces, and wounded at least seven others.

Channel 13 said that S-300 batteries opened fire as the Israeli fighter jets were flying on their way back to their bases. The report alleged that the S-300 radar did not lock onto the fighter jets and thus did not present a serious threat to them.

Syria received three S-300PMU2 air-defense systems from Russia after the downing of a Russian Il-20 intelligence aircraft by Syrian air defense forces which were responding to an Israeli strike over Syrian airspace in September 2018. Russia blamed Israel for the incident, which killed 15 Russian crew members. At least one of these systems is known to be deployed a few kilometers to the northwest of Masyaf.

In its report, Channel 13 argued that Syria’s S-300 systems are operated by the Russian military and cannot be fired without its approval.

Israel rarely acknowledges or discusses its attacks on Syria. As of now, the Israeli Defense Forces have not commented on the last attack or the alleged S-300 launch.

The Channel 13 report said it was not immediately clear if the activation of Syria’s S-300 systems was a one-time event or if it was a Russian signal to Israel that it was changing its policy when it comes to attacks on Syria.

The report comes amid a deterioration in relations between Israel and Russia, which began after the start of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine. Recently, Israel became more critical of the Russian operation and began providing non-lethal equipment to Kiev forces, likely to appease the US.

The Hillary Clinton campaign did not want its attorney, Michael Sussmann, to share the Alfa Bank data with the FBI, jurors were told yesterday during the defense’s opening arguments in the special counsel’s criminal case against Sussmann. But the information known to date, as well as the modus operandi of the Spygate players throughout the years they peddled the Russia-collusion hoax, render this argument laughable.

On Tuesday, trial in United States v. Sussmann began in earnest following a day of jury selection. At issue is whether the former Clinton campaign attorney lied to former FBI General Counsel James Baker when Sussmann provided him data and whitepapers purporting to show the existence of a secret-communications network between the Russian-based Alfa Bank and Donald Trump. Special Counsel John Durham’s team claims Sussmann lied when he shared the Alfa Bank “intel,” saying he wasn’t acting on behalf of a client, while, in fact, Sussmann represented both tech executive Rodney Joffe and the Clinton campaign.

Prosecutor Brittain Shaw set the stage for the jury, telling the 12 jurors and four alternates during opening argument that “Sussmann’s actions were part of ‘a plan to create an October surprise on the eve of a presidential election’ and to get the FBI to investigate, arguing the plan ‘largely succeeded.’”

Sussmann and Joffe “leaked the Alfa-Bank allegations to the New York Times,” Shaw continued, but “when that wasn’t published immediately, Sussmann brought a sense of urgency to the FBI about the media being on the verge of running a story.” According to prosecutors, “the FBI getting involved would make the story ‘more attractive’ to the press” and “Sussmann’s goal was to ‘inject’ the FBI into a presidential election.”

Not so, Sussmann’s lawyer Michael Bosworth countered, telling the jury in the defense’s opening argument that his client “had a genuine interest in national security” and was concerned about the data at a time when questions about Trump’s connections to Russia were swirling. According to Sussmann’s team, the Clinton campaign planned “to take this new weird thing public,” and they handed it to The New York Times. That’s what the campaign wanted—press coverage that hurt Trump and helped Clinton.

“The meeting with the FBI is the exact opposite of what the Clinton campaign would’ve wanted,” Bosworth told the jury, suggesting “the FBI quashed the news story after learning about it from Sussmann.” “The FBI meeting is something they didn’t authorize, they didn’t direct him to do, and they didn’t want him to do,” Sussmann’s lawyers argued. But once the Times was ready to publish the material, Sussmann called Baker “to help the FBI” “and warn them that a story was coming,” the defense claimed.

Queensland University of Technology's (QUT) Glenn Kefford, who spent years researching both databases, says identifying voters as "moderately" or "highly persuadable" helps with campaigning.

"When they segment the voters up for targeting in phone banking, for example, the lists are really segmented along who's most persuadable," he said.
