Politico recently reported that the Sixteen Thirty Fund, the leading dark money machine of the Left, had pumped $410 million into Dem 2020 efforts to defeat Trump and Republicans.

The Sixteen Thirty Fund had raised a record $390 million that year and half the money came from just 4 donors. While the names of the donors are secret, the article did note the names of three major known STF backers: Pierre Omidyar, Hansjörg Wyss, and George Soros.

Aside from their support for leftist causes, the three billionaires have another thing in common.

Hansjörg Wyss, the richest man in Switzerland, may not even be a United States citizen. The article notes that his $135 million in STF dark money donations were "earmarked for non-electoral purposes".

George Soros illegally immigrated to the United States in the 1950s. Aside from his history of Nazi collaboration which should have barred his entry and made him deportable, an account states that his visa was based on a false affidavit filed on his behalf.

His Open Society Foundations have invested an estimated $17 million into STF in 2020.

Pierre Omidyar, an Iranian immigrant, currently the richest man in Hawaii, is a Big Tech billionaire born to wealthy foreign students in Paris, who brought him here as a child. His mother, a Berkeley academic, heads a pro-Iran group financed by her son’s fortune.

Omidyar injected an estimated $45 million into an STF fund.

There is something remarkably striking about three foreign billionaires, two of whom have been accused of immoral atrocities, funding the dark money machine behind leftist politics.

Together the three men account for nearly $200 million in outlay just to STF.

Ongoing Surrender "On Far Bigger Scale Than Kyiv Has Acknowledged" At Azovstal

Russia's defense ministry has now revised the numbers of Ukrainian fighters to have emerged from the besieged Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol upward to more than 1,700 soldiers that have left the plant. A new Reuters headline has stressed that there's ongoing "silence from Kyiv" as the surrender is on a much larger than expected scale:

Moscow said on Thursday that 1,730 Ukrainian fighters had surrendered in Mariupol over three days, including 771 in the past 24 hours, claiming a surrender on a far bigger scale than Kyiv has acknowledged since ordering its garrison to stand down.

Statements from early in the week by Ukrainian officials, including President Zelensky, attempted to downplay this as "surrender" - avoiding the word altogether and instead stressing the end of the "combat mission" and that its Azov fighters were "evacuated".

Russian-backed separatists in control of the area, Denis Pushilin, has recently said many of Azov's top commanders still remain inside the huge, cavernous steelworks facility.

Reuters observes, "The ultimate outcome of Europe’s bloodiest battle for decades remained publicly unresolved, with no confirmation of the fate of the hundreds of Ukrainian troops who had held out in a vast steelworks at the end of a near three-month siege."

"Ukraine, which says it aims to secure a prisoner swap, has declined to say how many were inside the plant or comment on the fate of the rest, since confirming that just over 250 had surrendered in the initial hours after it ordered them to yield," the report added.

"This information allows the ICRC to track those who have been captured and help them keep in touch with their families," it added. "In accordance with the mandate given to the ICRC by States under the 1949 Geneva Conventions, the ICRC must have immediate access to all POWs in all places where they are held."

Erdogan To Sweden: Don't Expect Us To Approve NATO Bid Without First Returning 'Terrorists'

Turkey is demanding that Sweden must hand over and extradite "terrorists" in its midst before seeking to join the NATO alliance. In fresh televised remarks on Thursday, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Swedish and Finnish diplomats shouldn't even bother trying to dispatch delegations to Turkey if they aren't willing to stop supporting Kurdish PKK 'terrorists'.

"We have told our relevant friends we would say 'no' to Finland and Sweden’s entry into NATO, and we will continue on our path like this," Erdogan stressed in the remarks coming a day after Turkey blocked a fast-tracked effort to speedily process submission of the Scandinavian countries' Wednesday applications.

He also ripped Sweden in particular of being "a focus of terror, home to terror" - given it remains home to a huge community of Kurds from Syria, Iraq, and Turkey - many of which are said to be sympathetic to the anti-Turkey PKK and Syrian YPG.

It's unclear whether the Turkish leader had specific individuals in mind, or if he was speaking broadly of PKK supporters and sympathizers abroad:

President Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday Sweden should not expect Turkey to approve its NATO bid without returning "terrorists," and Swedish and Finnish delegations should not come to Turkey to convince it to back their NATO bids.

He delivered a similar address in separate remarks to MPs belonging to his ruling AK Party in parliament. "We have such a sensitivity as protecting our borders from attacks by terrorists organizations," he said. "NATO expansion is only meaningful for us in proportion to the respect that will be shown to our sensitivities."

Meanwhile, as expected the scramble has been on among Western governments to convince Ankara to soften its position, with Erdogan's office saying it held phone calls with Finland, Germany, Sweden, the United Kingdom and United States.

On Wednesday, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu maintained a firm line during a meeting with his US counterpart Secretary of State Antony Blinken at the United Nations.

"Turkey has been supporting the open-door policy of NATO even before this war," Cavusoglu said in the meeting. "But with regard to these candidate countries, we have also legitimate security concerns that they have been supporting terrorist organizations and there are also export restrictions on defense products." This is in reference to EU arms export restrictions targeting Turkey in response to its 2019 cross-border operations against Syrian Kurdish militias, in particular the West-backed YPG.

China calls for BRICS expansion

The five-nation bloc should add more member states, Beijing says

China wants to expand the group of emerging economies known as BRICS, a senior Chinese diplomat said on Thursday. The economic bloc currently consists of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.

“China proposes to start the BRICS expansion process, explore the criteria and procedures for the expansion, and gradually form a consensus,” Wang Yi, China's state councilor and foreign minister, told an online meeting of BRICS foreign ministers, as quoted by Reuters.

In an address ahead of the BRICS foreign ministers’ meeting, Chinese President Xi Jinping urged to strengthen cooperation. Xi had previously invited the Argentinian government to participate in the BRICS summit. Argentina has been striving to join the group for more than a decade. In February, during an official visit to China, Argentinian President Alberto Fernandez reiterated the request.

Brazil, Russia, India, and China initially established the bloc in 2009, with South Africa joining in 2010. BRICS has more than a 16% share in global trade and represents more than 40% of the world’s population.

James Baker buries Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann in probe

WASHINGTON, DC — A former FBI official testified Thursday he’s “100% confident” that a Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer denied acting “on behalf of any particular client” when he handed over since-debunked information linking Donald Trump to Russia.

“I think it was pretty close to the beginning of the meeting. Part of his introduction to the meeting,” former FBI general counsel James Baker told jurors in Washington, DC, federal court.

The testimony directly supports the sole count lodged against defendant Michael Sussmann as a result of special counsel John Durham’s probe into alleged law-breaking in connection with the FBI and Robert Mueller’s probes of purported Trump-Russia ties.

Sussmann, 57, is on trial on a single count of lying to the government during a Sept. 19, 2016, sit-down with Baker at FBI headquarters.

“He said that he was not appearing before me on behalf of any particular client,” Baker recalled.

“He had information of concern about an apparent surreptitious communications channel between Alfa-Bank, which he described as being connected to the Kremlin in Russia, and some part of the Trump Organization in the US.”

Baker testified that he was “100% confident that he said that in the meeting.”

Baker added that Sussmann had told him a reporter at a news outlet was working on a story about the information that purported to show a secret communications channel between the Trump Organization and Alfa Bank.

The threat of a news story coming out about the allegations prompted Baker to take immediate action, he said.

“It affected my thinking about the urgency of the matter because I know that if a news organization were to publish something about an alleged surreptitious communications channel … as soon as that article came out the communications channel would disappear,” Baker told assistant Special Counsel Andrew DeFilippis.

Minutes after his meeting with Sussmann, Baker said he briefed Bill Priestap, who at the time was assistant director of the FBI’s Counterintelligence Division, about the Alfa Bank information.

In a phone call with Priestap, Baker vouched for Sussmann as a source, describing him as a “serious lawyer” with background in cybersecurity who previously worked in the Justice Department.

Baker told Priestap that Sussmann was not acting on behalf of any client – a detail Priestap recorded in notes shown to the jury that he took during the phone call.

Facebook secretly planted op-eds in local papers to lobby against tech reform: report

Facebook used a front group to secretly plant op-eds in local newspapers nationwide in order to lobby Washington to back down from antitrust legislation aimed at improving competition in tech, according to a bombshell report.

American Edge, a political advocacy group that was founded by Facebook, launched a public relations campaign in March around the same time that the US Senate unveiled a bipartisan piece of legislation seeking to rein in powerful Big Tech firms, the Washington Post reported.

Even though the ads and op-eds claimed to be from groups representing small businesses, they were in fact paid for by Facebook, one of the wealthiest corporations in the world, according to the report.

The ads and sponsored writings warn of a “misguided agenda” to “take away the technology we use every day,” the Washington Post reported.

Last month, the New York Post was first to report that a slew of local business owners ran scores of op-eds and letters to the editor in several small publications nationwide.

The op-eds were eerily similar in wording as they came to the defense of large tech firms like Facebook and Alphabet-owned Google.

Shares of Facebook’s parent company, Meta Platforms Inc., rose by 0.6% on Wall Street as of 10:36 a.m. Eastern time.

The Post has reached out to Facebook seeking comment on the report.

The Senate bill would target the largest tech firms based on market valuation and user base — likely impacting the likes of Apple, Amazon, Google, Facebook and Microsoft.

The companies would be blocked from boosting their own products and services in search results, among other protective measures meant to promote competition.

American Edge, whose only funder is Facebook, placed op-eds in dozens of local newspapers to make it appear as if there was a grassroots effort to fight the antitrust legislation, according to the Washington Post.

During his speech opening parliament, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán slammed the west for engaging in mass migration policies, claiming western countries were experimenting with a “great replacement.”

Prime Minister Orbán was sworn in as Hungarian government leader for the fifth time this week and spoke out about various topics in his speech to the parliament, including commenting on the mass migration policies of Western Europe.

According to Orbán, the West is engaging in a “suicidal wave” and stated that western countries were “experimenting with the programme of great replacement,” referring to the theory of population exchange and demographic shifts coined by French writer Renaud Camus, newspaper Le Figaro reports.

According to Orbán, the programme of replacement “wants to replace endangered Christian children with migrants from other civilizations,” and stated he saw gender ideology in the same manner, referring to it as “madness.”

“Brussels is abusing its powers every single day and trying to force bad and foreign things upon us,” Orbán said and added, “But we’re not going to give up our border protection.”

“We won’t allow migrants in, and we’ll protect our families, and we won’t allow gender activists into our schools,” he said.

Orbán has been a critic of mass migration in western Europe for years, going as far as stating in 2018 that mass migration was a threat to women’s rights.

Last year, Orbán claimed that the migration agenda was part of a larger plan to create a “new proletariat” saying, “The West… just does not want to maintain itself. Let’s not beat around the bush: certain civilisations are able to reproduce; the Western civilisation is not able to reproduce — so much so that they are unable to decide whether this is a problem at all.”

A New Flag Already? Woke London Mayor Sadiq Khan Unveils New LGBTQ+ Flag for ‘IDAHOBIT’

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has apparently unveiled a new version of the LGBTQ+ pride flag for International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOBIT) this week.

Taking to Twitter, the leftist London Mayor wrote on Tuesday: “Today on #IDAHOBIT, I want to make clear that homophobia, biphobia and transphobia have no place in our city and send a message of solidarity to all LGBTQ+ communities around the world. We have to make sure that the progress of the past decades isn’t reversed.”

The post from Khan was accompanied with what appears to be an updated version of the “Progress Pride” flag, which was crafted in 2018 by “non-binary” artist Daniel Quasar, who added chevrons featuring the baby blue and pink colours of the transgender flag as well as black and brown for queer people of colour to the traditional rainbow flag.

The flag featured in the London Mayor’s post featured another chevron on its right side, including Quasar’s colours as well as an additional hot pink line, which has been used by other flags to represent women.

Responding to the apparent update to the flag, anti-woke campaigner Dr James Lindsay wrote: “The ugliest flag already evolved again?”

Another social media user noted that with the addition of the chevrons on both sides of the rainbow flag, the LGB has been “surrounded by TQ”.

Using gene editing to make more resilient crops could help in the fight against food insecurity, proponents of the technque have told British ministers.

Gene editing — a somewhat controversial technique involving the manipulation of plants to promote desirable properties — could help boost crop resilience, and by extension fight food insecurity, a number of experts have told ministers in Britain.

Such experts now want to see the technology adopted across the United Kingdom, with Westminster having already signalled a certain degree of approval for the accelerated method of traditional plant cultivation in this month’s Queen’s Speech.

According to a report by The Times, proponents of gene editing are now looking to get Scotland’s devolved government to warm to the tech, which they believe would lower costs to farmers while bumping production.

“…we need to develop crops quickly which can adapt and are resistant to climate change and pests and whose cultivation is more environmentally friendly,” said Professor Lesley Torrance of the James Hutton Institute, who backed a planned Westminster bill that would force the Scots to accept the use of the method north of the internal UK border.

“The application of precision breeding research is already happening in some countries which may result in crops which are easier to grow, more climate positive, require less use of biocides and fertiliser and potentially more economically viable,” the professor continued. “It will be up to the consumer to weigh up the merit of these different approaches and we need to do the science and provide the evidence that helps those decisions”

Meanwhile, officials from Scotland’s farming and food and drink industry also said they wanted to see Scotland warm to gene editing, with the Scottish head of the National Farmers’ Union saying that it would help local producers boost production while also going green.

The Coming War on So-Called Hate Speech

Beware of those who want to monitor, muzzle, catalogue and censor speech.

Especially be on your guard when the reasons given for limiting your freedoms end up expanding the government’s powers.

In the wake of a mass shooting in Buffalo, NY, carried out by an 18-year-old gunman in military gear allegedly motivated by fears that the white race is in danger of being replaced, there have been renewed calls for social media monitoring, censorship of flagged content that could be construed as dangerous or hateful, and limitations on free speech activities, particularly online.

As expected, those who want safety at all costs will clamor for more gun control measures (if not at an outright ban on weapons for non-military, non-police personnel), widespread mental health screening of the general population and greater scrutiny of military veterans, more threat assessments and behavioral sensing warnings, more surveillance cameras with facial recognition capabilities, more “See Something, Say Something” programs aimed at turning Americans into snitches and spies, more metal detectors and whole-body imaging devices at soft targets, more roaming squads of militarized police empowered to do random bag searches, more fusion centers to centralize and disseminate information to law enforcement agencies, and more surveillance of what Americans say and do, where they go, what they buy and how they spend their time.

All of these measures play into the government’s hands.

As we have learned the hard way, the phantom promise of safety in exchange for restricted or regulated liberty is a false, misguided doctrine that serves only to give the government greater authority to crack down, lock down, and institute even more totalitarian policies for the so-called sake of national security without many objections from the citizenry.

Add the Department of Homeland Security’s “Disinformation Governance Board” to that mix, empower it to monitor online activity and police so-called “disinformation,” and you have the makings of a restructuring of reality straight out of Orwell’s 1984, where the Ministry of Truth polices speech and ensures that facts conform to whatever version of reality the government propagandists embrace.

After all, it’s a slippery slope from censoring so-called illegitimate ideas to silencing truth.

Eventually, as George Orwell predicted, telling the truth will become a revolutionary act.

If the government can control speech, it can control thought and, in turn, it can control the minds of the citizenry.

It’s been a long time since free speech was actually free.

"After World War II thousands of Western Ukrainians, many of them Nazi collaborators, fled the territory of Ukraine to the United States, Canada and Latin America, where large diasporas emerged in the second half of last century," the deputy secretary of Russia’s Security Council, Alexander Venediktov, said at a meeting with foreign ambassadors in Moscow on Wednesday.

He stressed that "in this environment there emerge and multiply myths of a ‘heroic struggle’ by the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, OUN (outlawed in Russia) for independent Ukraine and, what is still more important, a whole pseudo-scholarly infrastructure has been created to enhance this narrative. Harvard Ukrainian Studies has become one of the largest such centers," Venediktov said.

He stressed that "this environment cultivates a very specific interpretation of the issue of famine in Ukraine, which the Ukrainian diaspora’s historians have turned into Ukraine’s equivalent of the Holocaust."

"Involved in the efforts to propagate this version were the CIA, its operation Aerodynamic and its mastermind Zbigniew Brzezinski (US President Jimmy Carter’s national security adviser in 1977-1981 - TASS)," Venediktov said. In his opinion "it is there that the OUN’s crimes have been and will be called into question, played down or rationalized."

Venediktov believes that "the Ukrainian diaspora’s influence became particularly noticeable during the presidency of Viktor Yushchenko, who for the first time officially acknowledged the version of the mass famine of the early 1930s as an act of genocide by Moscow."

"Further on, the pantheon of Ukraine’s ‘heroes’ began to be complemented not by ancient princes, but OUN ringleaders, whose names were awarded to avenues, whose monuments were erected, and who started to be looked at as a source of inspiration by those who suffered the most from the socio-economic depression of modern Ukraine," Venediktov said.

Israeli police arrested over 50 Palestinians in Jerusalem in the past 48 hours, the Jerusalem Detainees Families’ Committee’s spokesperson, Amjad Abu Assab, told The New Arab.

The arrests happened in the aftermath of the funeral of 23-year-old Palestinian Waleed Al-Sharif, late on Monday, after Israeli police stormed the funeral with dozens of police personnel at the Sahira Gate cemetery.

Confrontations erupted between mourners and Israeli police, who threw stun grenades, tear gas and fired rubber-coated bullets. Some 16 Palestinians were injured according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society. Six Israeli policemen were injured after Palestinian mourners threw stones and fire works at them, according to Israeli media.

The Justice Department has closed a probe into a public affairs firm that did work on behalf of the Ukrainian energy firm Burisma which had Hunter Biden serving in a lucrative post on its board of directors, according to a new report.

The firm, Blue Star Strategies, was not found to have committed wrongdoing, the Washington Post reported.

However it did submit a filing that acknowledged it had done work on behalf of Burisma and owner Mykola Zlochevsky back in 2015 and 2016, although its earlier forms did not report it.

The Foreign Agents Registration Act requires U.S. firms to disclose the names of foreign clients on whose behalf they lobby the government.

DOJ filed a FARA-related suit this week against casino Magnate Steve Wynn, alleging he failed to disclose work on behalf of the government of China when he personally lobbied former President Donald Trump while he was in office. The contacts were over a 2017 effort to extradite Chinese businessman Guo Wengui, ho faced a litany of charges that he fiercely denies and was forced to flee Beijing's government in 2014.

Politico had reported last June the company was under investigation for its work on behalf of Burisma.

It came amid an overall look at foreign efforts to influence U.S. politics.

Burisma featured prominently in efforts by Trump, Rudy Giuliani and other Trump allies to to try to get Ukraine to investigate the company, a push that was part of the the first Trump impeachment, which resulted in Trump's acquittal in the Senate.

The new form, filed this month by lawyer Karen Tramontano, lists Mr. Nickolai Zlochevsky (through Burisma holdings limited). It says the firm scheduled two meetings with State Department officials so that his lawyer 'could explain adverse matters in the U.K. and Ukraine.'

The leader of an Israeli far-right group called for the demolition of the Dome of the Rock Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem on Wednesday.

Bentzi Gopstein, the founder and leader of Lehava, published the controversial post online in which he called on Israeli settlers to unite on "Jerusalem Day" on 29 May to break into Al-Aqsa and start dismantling the revered Muslim landmark and pave the way for building a Jewish temple at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

"Jerusalem Day, which falls on 29 May, is the day the demolition of the Dome of the Rock will begin," Gopstein wrote.

"Jerusalem Day" is an annual Israeli holiday celebrated on the 28th day of the month of Iyar in the Hebrew calendar, commemorating the city's “unification” when the Israeli military occupied East Jerusalem in the 1967 Six-Day War and later annexed the Palestinian city in violation of international law.

The Lehava group published a poster on social media showing an excavator next to the Dome of the Rock. In another poster, another excavator appears to be carrying debris from the mosque.

Al-Aqsa Mosque is Islam's third holiest site and Muslims believe the Dome of the Rock is the place from which the Prophet Muhammad ascended to heaven.

Palestine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Lehava's calls to destroy the Dome of the Rock, describing it as a "Jewish terrorist group".

Last month, Israeli settlers and forces stormed the mosque repeatedly and performed Jewish prayers at the site, rising tensions in the city and leading to a violent police crackdown on Palestinians.

Lehava activists had called to mobilise and pick up arms in April, and marched last year in the city shouting "death to Arabs".

Israeli far-right activists have repeatedly pushed for an increased Jewish presence at the site despite a longstanding agreement between Israel and Jordan, which administers the affairs of the mosque, that bars non-Muslim prayer at the site.

Some right-wing Israeli activists and groups such as Lehava have openly advocated for the destruction of al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock to make way for a Third Temple.

Mastercard introduces controversial biometric payments that require a face scan

Amid privacy concerns, payments giant Mastercard is rolling out the controversial biometric payment systems, allowing users to pay with the wave of a hand or a smile at a camera.

The payments giant said it is rolling out the biometric checkout programs to speed up checkout time and reduce queues. It also claims that biometric systems are more secure and hygienic than debit and credit cards.

“Once enrolled, there is no need to slow down the checkout queue searching through their pockets or bag,” Mastercard said while introducing the controversial tech. “Consumers can simply check the bill and smile into a camera or wave their hand over a reader to pay.”

Mastercard will begin testing its biometric checkout systems in Brazil, at five St Marche stores in the city of Sao Paulo. Interested users can register their biometrics via an app or in a store through Mastercard’s partner Payface.

A spokesperson said that it will soon roll out the biometric checkout system in the UK, and is also focusing on markets in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

Google 'Private Browsing' Mode Not Really Private, Texas Lawsuit Says

The Google search engine collects data on users who think they can be anonymous if they use a "private browsing" mode, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton claimed on Thursday, filing an amended privacy lawsuit against the Alphabet Inc unit.

Texas, Indiana, Washington State and the District of Columbia filed separate suits against Google in January in state courts over what they called deceptive location-tracking practices that invade users' privacy.

Paxton's filing adds Google's Incognito mode to the lawsuit filed in January. Incognito mode or "private browsing" is a web browser function that Paxton said implies Google will not track search history or location activity.

The lawsuit said Google offers the option of "private browsing" that could include "viewing highly personal websites that might indicate, for example, their medical history, political persuasion, or sexual orientation. Or maybe they simply want to buy a surprise gift without the gift recipient being tipped off by a barrage of targeted ads."

The suit said "in reality, Google deceptively collects an array of personal data even when a user has engaged Incognito mode."

Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment. In January, the company said the "attorneys general are bringing a case based on inaccurate claims and outdated assertions about our settings. We have always built privacy features into our products and provided robust controls for location data."

Paxton previously alleged Google misled consumers by continuing to track their location even when users sought to prevent it.

Google has a "Location History" setting and informs users if they turn it off "the places you go are no longer stored," Texas said.

In January an Arizona judge ruled allegations Google deceived users with unclear smartphone location tracking settings should be weighed by a jury, refusing to toss out a lawsuit brought by the state's attorney general.

According to NBC News, which didn't hold back in its description of Hunter's business partners, "From 2013 through 2018 Hunter Biden and his company brought in about $11 million via his roles as an attorney and a board member with a Ukrainian firm accused of bribery and his work with a Chinese businessman now accused of fraud." That timeframe, notably, includes years in which Joe Biden was vice president.

Specifically, as NBC News' review confirmed, "Biden made $5.8 million, more than half his total earnings from 2013 to 2018, from two deals with Chinese business interests."

More than $5 million, for the record, is a far cry from President Biden's 2020 debate claim that Hunter "has not made money" from China. That kind of blanket denial rarely ends well, especially when the person issuing it is Joe Biden — a man who has tried to shake hands with thin air.

HSI investigative authority prevents criminal organization from victimizing more children

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), in collaboration with Brazil’s Federal Police (PF), dismantled a criminal network April 28, that was actively involved in the production and sale of illicit imagery of children. HSI Brazil, receiving information from the PF’s Child Pornography/Exploitation and Hate Crimes Unit in May 2020, coordinated efforts targeting subscribers of the website in the United States and other countries. The Brazil-based ‘child modeling’ website is alleged to contain child exploitation material widely distributed via the dark web.

“Predators like this, who seek to prey upon and harm children and hide must be identified, apprehended, and brought to justice. HSI’s investigative authorities are uniquely positioned to target those criminals who hide between international boundaries,” said HSI Brazil Attaché Eric Cardiel. “The success of this operation demonstrates two critical components of law enforcement – cooperation and partnership. We are thankful for our Brazilian partners extraordinary efforts and trust – we will continue to expand our collaborative missions that disrupt and dismantle transnational criminal threats.”

PF launched Operation Abusou as part of a coordinated effort to take down the organization propagating the commercialization of photos and videos of adolescents, mainly Brazilians, in sensual and erotic poses, aimed at child sexual exploitation websites located abroad. More than 120 victims between the ages of four and 18 have been identified. Roughly 200,000 image and video files are being analyzed by law enforcement officials. This investigation included international collaboration from Interpol and the U.S. government.

The 1st Federal Court of Itajaí, in Santa Catarina, authorized the issuance of 10 search and seizure warrants and at least one arrest warrant against targets of the operation. According to reports, since 2001, victims were filmed and photographed in bathing suits and undergarments, under the promise that materials would be used to manage modeling careers in fashion and advertising, claiming that photos/videos were a requirement of companies seeking talent.

Breaking Dem Legislation Could End Gun Sales to All Current Firearm Owners Forever, Require DOJ License

Senate Democrats are pushing gun control in the run-up to the midterms, in the form of a bill introduced on Thursday.

They’re using the Buffalo mass shooting as a political tool, even though the gunman easily bypassed New York’s gun control laws to attack unarmed grocery shoppers.

Democratic Sens. Cory Booker, Richard Blumenthal and Bob Menendez are introducing the Federal Firearms Licensing Act, according to Politico.

The law would fundamentally revise gun ownership from a right enjoyed by American citizens to a privilege bestowed by the government at its own discretion.

Acquiring or buying a new gun would require a lengthy licensing process through the Department of Justice — every time you purchase a new firearm.

Buying a gun from a licensed firearms dealer already requires a NICS background check. Existing law prevents felons from buying or owning guns.

Booker’s bill would give the Attorney General discretion to approve or deny a federal firearms license, even if you’ve never been convicted of a crime.

The Attorney General would be able to deny a firearms license if they determined that the prospective gun owner “poses a significant danger of bodily injury to self or others” by owning a firearm.

The federal government could deny Americans gun rights if they’ve ever been arrested or have a history of drug or alcohol use. They can even be denied for the “unsafe storage or handling of firearms.”

Furthermore, some could be denied a firearm because of a “recent acquisition of firearms, ammunition or other deadly weapons.”

Imagine that — getting denied by the federal government to purchase a gun because you’ve previously purchased a gun.

Applicants for federal permission would also have to submit proof of taking extensive safety classes. Learning how to properly handle firearms from your parents simply won’t cut it.

Gun control is one of several issues in which public opinion has swayed away from the Democratic platform in recent years.

Damascus Says Areas of Syria Occupied by US Troops Will Soon Return to Government Control

The United States and its Syrian Kurdish militia allies control wide swathes of territory in eastern Syria, including areas producing the vast majority of the Arab Republic’s oil, gas and food. Damascus has accused Washington of stealing these resources, and demanded repeatedly that the US withdraw its forces.

The US occupation of eastern Syria will soon be brought to an end, Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad has said.

“The illegal US presence in the Jazira region of northern Syria is reaching its end, and the regions occupied by American forces will soon come under the Damascus government’s authority,” Mekdad said, speaking to Syria’s al-Ikhbariyah TV.

Mekdad called on the majority Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces militias to realize that America would eventually withdraw and abandon them.

The foreign minister said Damascus's principled support for the Palestinian cause, and its efforts to liberate Israeli-occupied territories in the Golan Heights and southern Lebanon were among the key causes behind the foreign-backed conflict which has rocked Syria since 2011.

“Given Syria’s strong commitment to such positions, as well as its strategic location and great regional influence, hostile nations have been trying to affect the Damascus government’s policies. Having failed in their attempts, they resorted to terrorism and sponsored this menace with billions of dollars,” Mekdad said.

This foreign-backed effort to break up the country has failed, Mekdad said.
