Go-To database.
It's rather old tech related to what was used on the SR-71 and was adapted from maritime navigation.
Using a database… Kind of like the Book of Enoch…. It describes the mathematical relationships between sets of stars and other visible objects. Using this, one can identify position and time with an extreme degree of accuracy. It's more accurate than GPS, but requires far more hardware to make it work (for now).
If you look at old bombers, particularly the B-17, you'll see a star dome over the Navigator's position. This was used for nighttime navigation and even some bombing campaigns.
By reversing this algorithm, it is possible to take a known position and then point at a body in this database and track it through time. Hence… "Go To."
