I've seen a purplish/reddish ball of light that floated through my living room, kind of like a floating worm? Because it left a purplish trail of light behind it, like a tail of a comet. Then it floated and disappeared into the wall.
Now, my father claimed that when he was a kid that his mother was cleaning the house and had the front and back doors open. My father was playing with his sisters on the floor of the house, when they all claim that a "ball of fire" came floating through the back door and moved around close to the floor around the house and under tables, and then floated through the front door and disappeared.
Then my uncle claimed that when he was in the Air Force, there was a dark "thing" with big red eyes that emitted light. It would appear on the base at night, and the MPs would go after it and then it would "fly" at an incredible speed to the opposite side of the base. Then the MPs would try to confront it again, only to have the "creature" move as fast as lightening to another spot on base.

I am not Muslims, however I kind of believe that they are Djinn…entities that are made from "smokeless fire"…electricity.
We call them ghosts, some UFOS, demons…etc; but, in the end, they are energy beings whose bodies exist mostly out of electricity and plasma.
So, I think they are Djinn…but the Creature with Red Eyes on the Air Force base I believe was a top secret military test back in the 60's. I believe the military developed a interdimensional/spaceship-suit that would turn the wearer into their own UFO being able to travel at incredible speeds, fly, and warp in and out of dimensions.
A wearable one person space ship. Because to me, the story sounded a lot like Mothman.

I think "ball lightening" has some form of sentience. They are sentient and aware.
