The Liberal Obsession With ‘Disinformation’ Is Not Helping

Why the swift death of the White House’s disinformation board is probably a good thing

20 MAY 2022

But the other pernicious problem with liberals’ fixation on “disinformation” is that it allows them to lie to themselves.

Trump’s ascendance in 2016 posed a painful psychic challenge to liberal elites. It suggested the possibility that many millions of Americans were motivated by deep, venomous dissatisfactions with the world they had helped create, that our cultural disagreements were profound, not superficial, and that our perspectives were practically irreconcilable inversions of each other. Political reality seemed to tilt on its axis. How could a man who appeared to them so transparently abhorrent and clownish be welcomed by others as a savior — or at least as a tolerable alternative to the status quo?

“Disinformation” was the liberal Establishment’s traumatic reaction to the psychic wound of 2016. It provided an answer that evaded the question altogether, protecting them from the agony of self-reflection. It wasn’t that the country was riven by profound antinomies and resentments born of material realities that would need to be navigated by new kinds of politics. No, the problem was that large swaths of the country had been duped, brainwashed by nefarious forces both foreign and domestic. And if only the best minds, the most credentialed experts, could be given new authority to regulate the flow of “fake news,” the scales would fall from the eyes of the people and they would re-embrace the old order they had been tricked into despising. This fantasy turned a political problem into a scientific one. The rise of Trump called not for new politics but new technocrats.

The Prophetic Monkeypox Simulation

First-ever global Monkeypox outbreak happens in exact week predicted in biosecurity simulation a year prior

"Elite media outlets around the world are on red alert over the world’s first-ever global outbreak of Monkeypox — just one year after an international biosecurity conference in Munich held a simulation of a 'global pandemic involving an unusual strain of Monkeypox' beginning in mid-May 2022

Monkeypox was first identified in 1958, but there’s never been a global Monkeypox outbreak outside of Africa until now — in the exact week of the exact month predicted by biosecurity folks in their pandemic simulation. Take these guys to Vegas!

A still little-discussed reason for optimism, broadly speaking:

Historically, armies composed of hirelings and bought-men always lose to armies composed of dedicated warriors.

The latter has a powerful motive-force, fueled by a sense of higher purpose - morale springing from a desire to protect what they love, and a sense of righteous indignation toward the outrages and injustices committed against them.

The former fights merely for a paycheck, superficial acclaim or career/social advancement, and doesn't believe deeply in the causes they pay lip service to.. in fact, doesn't believe deeply in anything.

Throughout history, when things get truly messy and chaotic and dangerous, the former tend to stand firm, even redouble their efforts and energy.. whereas the latter tend to scatter in the face of danger, in cowardly self-interest.

Their type, by nature, always seeks the easy path.

What many of us see as some unstoppable machine is actually a paper tiger, in a very real sense - cleverly designed to appear as an unstoppable machine, for the purpose of intimidation and demoralization. The more we're capable of breaking free from this illusion and delusion, of shedding these self-imposed psychological fetters, the more we'll start to see (and make) significant things happen.

"Maurice Gourdault-Montagne, a former top foreign policy aide to late French President Jacques Chirac, recently revealed in an interview with Europe 1 how the Bush administration undermined its less belligerent European allies.

“(Chirac) was used to saying, since the end of the Soviet Union that ‘Russia is not a doormat on which you can wipe your feet,’” Gourdault-Montagne said. “And that was the way he looked at our partners which mistreated Russia.” With the Iraq disaster fresh in mind, Chirac was preoccupied with the balance of power in Europe and specifically with preventing tensions between Russia and Ukraine from escalating to blows. Chirac understood the Russian position but also cared about Ukrainian independence. In 2006, he sent Gourdault-Montagne to Moscow to meet with Sergei Prikhodko, a top Russian advisor on international issues. Ukraine was among the main topics of discussion.

Gourdault-Montagne helped sketch a plan for peace and stability to ensure Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. It entailed “a reciprocal protection of Ukraine, by Russia on one hand, and NATO on the other; this would have been overseen by the Russia-NATO Council, which had been created in the early 2000s.” Chirac thought it reasonable because there were already neutral countries in Europe. Why not add Ukraine to that list? Gourdault-Montagne’s Russian counterpart was likewise intrigued by the proposal.

“‘It’s very interesting for us, because it solves the question of Crimea for us,’” Gourdault-Montagne recalled him saying. “He asked me: ‘Did you talk to the Americans?’ I told him: ‘Not yet, we wanted to feel you out first.’” But D.C. had different designs. According to Gourdault-Montagne:

"Then I went to the Americans, to Condoleezza Rice in Washington, who was Secretary of State at the time, and who had been my counterpart during the Iraq War—I knew she was, I would say, hardline, but also sometimes pragmatic. Well, she told me, this was completely unexpected for me, she looked at my piece of paper, and she said: “You, the French, for a long time you held up the first wave of East European countries joining NATO, you will not hold up the second wave.” That is when we understood that the American plan was to, in the fullness of time, bring Ukraine into NATO, and in 2008 there was the notorious Bucharest Summit."

The US is such a big country that we think of its people as being in infinite supply.

Hungary is a small country with fewer than 10 million people. There isn’t an infinite supply of Hungarians in the world.

Their capacity to assimilate other cultures and ethnicities into theirs is very limited. If they bring in foreigners, it won’t be very long before Hungary’s population ceases to be Hungarian.

Hungarianness is precious to Hungarians, and it should be precious to the entire human species: why would we want humanity to become less diverse by destroying it?

It’s funny how we have no problem understanding the same issue in the case of endangered animals, but if a White nation is similarly endangered, arguing for its protection is viewed as “White supremacy”

Report: Top Southern Baptists stonewalled sex abuse victims

22 MAY 2022

Survivors “spoke of trauma from the initial abuse, but also told us of the debilitating effects that come from the response of the churches and institutions like the SBC that did not believe them, ignored them, mistreated them, and failed to help them,” the report said.

It cited the case of Dave Pittman, who from 2006 to 2011 made phone calls and sent letters and emails to the SBC and Georgia Baptist Convention Board reporting that he had been abused by Frankie Wiley, a youth pastor at Rehoboth Baptist Church when he was 12 to 15 years old.

Pittman and several others have come forward publicly to report that Wiley molested and raped them and Wiley has admitted to abusing “numerous victims” at several Georgia Southern Baptist churches.

According to the report, a Georgia Baptist Convention official told Pittman that the churches were autonomous and there was nothing he could do but pray.

The report also tells the story of Christa Brown, who says she was sexually abused as a teen by the youth and education minister at her SBC church.
