My two cents. Debian has been my favorite for a long, long time. If I were to recommend a distro for a normie that is really ready for the desktop experience, I'd go with CentOS, which is very close to RHEL7.
That graphic needs to show that GMT actually translates to the correct dates in EST. As it stands, it's confusing for some Anons and normies wouldn't get it at all.
