The only man in the bible with the number 666 associated with him is Solomon, the last king of United Israel. He was world famous for his wisdom. That's two points in a single verse pointing to Solomon.

Solomon was the Son of David and Bathsheba. He is the one who many believed Jesus was the re-incarnation of.
