There was a pretty long discussion in #20675 about whether to have a section under Globals for PDJT comms, digs or other notables that are particularly noteworthy or require longer exposure. Had been suggested earlier and am baker was going to follow up. The discussion was to look more closely at this idea, get ideas out on the table about whether a section like this was needed, what it would look like, etc.

Remember the salt rotation post. 8 was having major stability problems at the time - huge board lags, etc.. Salt change was designed to help. Most BO's had migrated their boards by then (asked 8kun admins to restore their boards using a "shared secret" (to verify their identity). Q had not so Ron asked him about it. Instead, Q started a new board.

Q is BO. CMz may have created it for him/them, but after a board is created, BO receives a temp pw and the "shared secret". BO should change the pw so only he has access to board settings.

This means that your ip hash has been flagged as a shill's. Your ip is not really your ip unless your have a static vpn. It's shared. if a shill is in the same gp (from your provider), you can get the boot. don't think it's possible to get that kind of ban reverse, recommend using a vpn where you can switch channels.

No one knew a new section was being added - not anons, bakers or admins. it was something under discussion in bread 20675 and others.

Nobody is sitting on their hands. But there are many ways to make sure DJT posts/announcements are highlighted.

One anon who did not favor adding a new section to dough said whoever is motivated could do a DAILY REPORT with important DJT posts, the way we do Pedo buns, clockfag reports, etc. Could point out patterns, whatever seems to need a dig or more analysis.

Baker, with all due respect, you haven't been baking much lately, just jumped in again in the last few days. That is fine. But it's kind of funny to see someone who stepped back to suddenly get into gear and then decide stuff has to be done yesterday.

There's no hand wringing here, had a long discussion with anons in #20675. Brought up some issues to look at there, you might want to take a look.

We are doing that. Digs are very good. Yesterday there were 3 major digs on Texas shooting - see bread before Anons on Fire.

We now have so many notes on so many topics that the chief complaint is that there are too many. Can use more bakers, as always. If you want to contribute, baking is sure appreciated. If you want to focus as a digger on PDJT, that would be too.

You think i'm hostile perhaps because i made a point to say BO did not "call for" a next section. That's because i did not. Just mentioned it as a possible alternative to adding stuff to Globals. I'm conservative about dough changes for many reasons. Can do if necessary but not on a whim or not in a hurry.

Have been baking very little. If i do bake, it's usually because the dough is messed up and it's helpful to avoid confusion. Or because i enjoy it.

Admins are here to help mainly to maintain the integrity and structure of the board. There is no training manual for a board like this. Even so, the board is clean, breads get promptly renumbered, dup threads get locked, cp gets reported/deleted, messed up doughs get cleaned, and bans can be reversed bc there's an appeals process.

Graphics remain for longer than 24 hours - unlike most 8 boards - because anons are quick to report cp and admins to delete it. Admins stopped bans for anything but cp. Also backed way off on spam deletions except for Reported spam per anon preference. Have lately started using mainly delete&ban lately with one-minute bans in order to show anons what is being deleted. Can only be done on the Ban log.

You are preaching to the choir. Elections are important, very much so. But it's like you just realized this. Why didn't you start planning ahead, say, in March?

What about the idea of doing a DAILY REPORT? You call the idea of a DJT section "brilliant" but what is better about it than a daily report?

If you do a report:

• Anons can LINK to it

• u can put best links on a resource list

• can also annotate these links or use descriptions. I do this whenever i do a major dig - add both resources and links at the bottom, list grows as the dig grows.

• can bun if the list becomes too bulky

• can use a thread as a resource too

Once baker is used to the daily PDJT report, will add along with other notables anytime you post it.

When suggesting a report, it's not to minimize the importance of the task. If anything the opposite. Reports are extremely powerful if done with insight and care. Can be daily, weekly, monthly - even morning and evening. You have analytical ability, could do an excellent job.

Making admins sound like we don't care or can't be bothered is a red herring.

There is no one suggested format. There are different formats, depending on your goals and what you want to emphasize - news, trends, etc.

Maintaining the bun is the tricky part. Hard enough to maintain notables, more so these days because buns are huge. That is not bc bakers are doing bloatables but bc the news is exploding. Want to keep the dough simple for bakers. At least one or two bakers did not want to deal with another section, said so in the bread.

Try your examples out in the bread and ASK anons and bakers if they think this would be a good idea and want to see this dough change. Then they can ask you questions and you can discuss. See what was said in 20675, was a good discussion.
