The Secretariat of Economic Policy - SPE aims to formulate economic projects and proposals in line with the Federal Government's strategy in an integrated manner with the various Federal Public Administration bodies. It also assesses the macroeconomic impacts of various public policies to support the decision-making process of the Ministry of Finance.

In addition, it develops economic scenarios, monitors and evaluates indicators, carries out diagnostic research with a view to (i) promoting the sustainable development of the credit, capital, insurance, and private pension markets and of the various economic sectors with uniform treatment of economic policy between them , (ii) to promote the improvement of the rural business environment by simplifying the process of contracting rural credit, (iii) to improve the understanding of fiscal issues by the market and to qualify the debate with the external public about the direction of the country's fiscal policy.

It is important to highlight that, since the economy is dynamic, the SPE has as constant challenge to improve the analytical tool of the macroeconomic variables interactions with the tax and tax variable
