It's a mutual blackmail belief system designed to promote those that are the most willing to exchange their humanity for power. They take decent and good systems of morality and invert them to prove they are higher than the rest. None of what people do, good or bad, proves God or Satan, or any other entity used to express/project the existence of external influences in human behavior. What people write down about these belief systems are a way of conveying these thought patterns about the various facets of human thought and emotion. There are more good people than bad in the world. What the bad have done is distract/hypnotize the good with riddles, puzzles, beliefs, and systems designed to keep good people looking in all the wrong directions while the powerful continue in their goal of establishing, fully, their neofeudalistic rule on the masses.
