I think what the cult does is force people to be abusive, or at least gives them the opportunity to. Once the person sees themselves in this way they are confronted with serious conflict. Some recoil in horror of their action (they see the light), others accept that they are wicked and embrace it, (they see a different light), both of the people who have seen the light either way are controllable. One is reckoning with serious guilt complexes, the other is inculcated into antisocial behaviours and narcissism.
If you look at Covid. They made the whole of society perform serious abuse of each other. Doctors especially. Obvious unnecessary abuse. But teachers, media, police, politicians many have been caught up into this mass hypnosis. Some will have extreme guilt at facing this reality, others scarier will embrace it and believe that they are simply wicked. Forgiveness will be difficult and some will go full retard never believing it’s out there.
Fundamentally it’s a case of Stockholm syndrome. On a massive scale.
There was a study that showed when people experience massive fear they basically do whatever they are told.
Then there is the ask test and milgram experiments showing that people basically just do as they are told,
Combined with trauma that activates the fear response such as ptsd.
And probably most importantly you have the guilt that comes with having been a willing participant not knowing that you were forced/ coerced…and this guilt makes people inculcated to the situation and live in denial and fear of being found out.
