One Of The Largest Egg Factories In US Torched In The Middle Of The Night Amid Outbreak Of Fires In Food Processing Facilities Across The Nation

A barn that housed tens of thousands of chickens on Forsman Farm in Howard Lake, Minnesota, one of the nation’s largest egg producers, was set aflame late Saturday night.

According to Forsman Farms, which provides more than three million eggs to the largest retailers in the country, the cause of the fire remains a mystery as investigators evaluate the scene to determine how the barn was set ablaze.

“Overnight, a fire destroyed one of our barns at our Howard Lake farm. No one was injured and we are grateful that first responders were quickly on the scene to put out the fire. Unfortunately, chickens were lost because of the fire. We are evaluating the extent of the damage – which appears to be confined to a single structure – as well as investigating the cause of the fire,” a Forsman Farms told Minnesota’s local CBS affiliate.

Law enforcement officials estimate at least 200,000 chickens were killed in the massive flame.

While the fire left extensive damage to the property, no injuries were reported.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office maintains the fire was likely accidental.

So it little wonder that President Biden will reportedly hold a rare Oval office meeting on Tuesday with Fed Chair Jerome Powell amid the highest inflation in decades, which has angered Americans and hurt his standing with voters.

According to a White House statement, the two will discuss the state of the American and global economy. Bloomberg reports that, it’s the first meeting between the two since Biden in November announced his intention to nominate Powell for a second term at the helm of the US central bank, according to a record of the Fed chief’s public schedule which is available through March.

Mr. Biden has said he won't tell the Fed what to do but has broadly supported the Fed's plans to withdraw stimulus.

"I believe that inflation is our top economic challenge right now, and I think they do too," Mr. Biden said on May 10.

As The Wall Street Journal reports, while presidents and the party in power have often favored lower interest rates to support stronger growth, polls show that inflation is very unpopular, and Democrats are bracing for losses in this fall's midterm congressional elections. Consumer confidence has slumped amid rising prices of food and gas. Lawmakers in both parties have supported the Fed's efforts to raise interest rates, with some criticizing the Fed for having waited too long to do so.

Remember, as the stock market was hitting record highs in Nov 2021, real estate sales were soaring and the economy was being allowed to reopen by the government, President Biden explained why he renominated a Republican appointee (and as Liz Warren said "a dangerous man") promising that he will "maintain the independence of The Fed."

"The Federal Reserve is an independent operation," he said in April 2021.

"I want to be real clear that I'm not going to do the kinds of things that have been done in the last administration… telling them what they should and shouldn't do."

Rockets Reportedly Strike Ain Al-Asad Military Base Housing US Troops in Iraq

Ain al-Asad is an Iraqi military base in western Iraq's Al Anbar Governorate. It is considered one of the largest bases hosting US military equipment and personnel in the country.

The Ain al-Assad base in western Iraq, where US forces are stationed in the country, has come under fire from what appear to be 122mm missiles, local media reported on Monday.

According to preliminary eyewitness reports, at least two missiles fell on the base. At the moment, the extent of damage and the presence of victims is not specified. It is also unclear what exactly was the target of the alleged attack.

Moreover, following the missile attack, the US reportedly deployed reconnaissance drones and helicopters in the area of the nearby village of Al-Baghdadi, Iraq.

The missiles that fell on the base allegedly hit the southern part of the installation, and shortly after that, the US forces sealed all the doors at the facility.

According to unconfirmed reports, a makeshift launcher was used to launch the missiles, presumably from multiple launch rocket systems.

The base, which still hosts US troops despite the fact that the Iraqi parliament voted to expel all foreign troops from its territory, is subject to shelling quite regularly. One of the most serious was the missile attack in January 2020 by Iran in retaliation for the killing of IRGC General Qasem Soleimani by US forces.

SoCal Doctor Who Smuggled, Sold Hydroxychloroquine as Covid Cure Sentenced to Prison

California – A San Diego physician last Friday was sentenced to prison for smuggling Hydroxychloroquine and selling it as a Covid cure.

Last year Jennings Ryan Staley pleaded guilty “to one count of importation contrary to law, admitting that he worked with a Chinese supplier to try to smuggle into the United States a barrel that he believed contained over 26 pounds of hydroxychloroquine powder by mislabeling it as “yam extract.” – the Justice Department said.

According to court documents, Staley admitted that he intended to sell the HCQ powder in capsules as a ‘Covid cure kit’ to customers of his Skinny Beach Med Spas between March and April 2020.

Staley also pitched investors and promised to triple their money in 90 days, according to court documents.

An undercover FBI agent purchased six of Staley’s ‘treatment kits’ for $4,000.

“Court documents explain that during a recorded phone call with the undercover agent, Staley not only made the false statements about the efficacy of his “treatment kits;” he also bragged that, “I got the last tank of . . . hydroxychloroquine, smuggled out of China, Sunday night at 1:00 a.m. in the morning . . . the broker . . . smuggled it out, so to speak, otherwise tricked Customs by saying it was sweet potato extract.”” the DOJ said.

Staley also admitted he sought to obstruct the federal investigation into his HCQ treatment kit scheme.

“At the height of the pandemic, before vaccines were available, this doctor sought to profit from patients’ fears,” said US Attorney Randy Grossman. “He abused his position of trust and undermined the integrity of the entire medical profession. We are committed to enforcing the laws of the United States and protecting patients, including prosecuting doctors who choose to commit crimes.”

Staley was sentenced to 30 days of custody and one year of home confinement.

“U.S. District Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel also ordered Staley to pay a $10,000 fine and ordered forfeiture of the $4,000 paid by the undercover agent, as well as more than 4,500 tablets of various pharmaceutical drugs, multiple bags of empty pill capsules, and a manual capsule-filling machine.” the US Attorney’s office in DC said.

Justin Trudeau As He Announces Canada’s Proposed Legislation to Ban Handguns

According to a report by CBC, Canada’s leadership has introduced new gun control legislation, which includes a national freeze on buying, selling, importing, and transferring of handguns in Canada.

The move comes as the government’s most ambitious attempt yet to restrict access to firearms in this country.

While the measure isn’t quite a complete ban on handguns, it would effectively limit the number of firearms in Canada.

“In other words, we’re capping the market for handguns,” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told a press conference Monday.

“As we see gun violence continue to rise, it is our duty to keep taking action.”

Marco Mendicino, the country’s Public Safety Minister, presented the bill in the House of Commons Monday.

“The bill we just tabled represents a milestone amidst a long and difficult battle which takes place on our streets every single day,” Mendicino said. “It’s a battle which has claimed too many lives, leaving empty chairs at the dinner table, and empty desks in our classrooms.”

The government previously proposed working with provinces and territories to put restrictions on handguns. Trudeau said his government abandoned that idea after consultations.

“In our discussions with law enforcement, advocates and experts, it became apparent that we needed a different solution,” he said.

“So we decided to take a new route, something that would tackle this issue at a national level.”

The move by Canada’s leadership comes in response to several mass shootings in the United States during the last month.
