Travel Hell: Nearly 7,000 Flights Canceled Over Memorial Day Weekend – Stranded Passengers Lash Out at Airlines

More than 7,000 flights were canceled over Memorial Day weekend.

Delta Airlines blamed bad weather and “air traffic control actions” for Friday and Saturday’s cancellations.

Total delays for Monday according to FlightAware: 13,330

Travelers aired their grievances on social media after their flights were canceled at the last minute.

Chico State employee arrested for making violent threats in YouTube comments

 

CHICO, Calif. - A Chico State employee was arrested on campus Thursday evening for making violent statements, according to Butte County District Attorney Mike Ramsey.

Ramsey says Kerry Thao, who was a former Chico State student, was arrested on campus after the FBI got a tip from Google that Thao was encouraging Asians to shoot white and Black Americans in YouTube comments.

The Chico State University Police Department took over the case and obtained an arrest warrant. The Butte County Sheriff’s Office got a gun violence restraining order, Ramsey said.

During a search of Thao’s home, Ramsey said three handguns, four rifles and ammunition were found.

Thao is scheduled to be in court on Tuesday at 3 p.m.

Chico State says no threat was made against the university or the campus community. It says Thao will not be returning to campus.
