One thing I've learned from watching videos of people being interviewed at various political events is that the vast majority of the people who have strong political opinions are vastly under informed and incapable of presenting a strong understanding of why they feel a certain way.
They have seen enough to make them repblicans or democrats, pro/anti Trump, and they run with that.
Normies aren't smart enough to track all the details and they are focused on their daily needs and deliberately kept to busy to pay attention.
That's why this place is so important.
