Biden’s Justice Department on Tuesday asked a federal appeals court to overturn a federal judge’s order that declared the travel mandate unlawful.

A Trump-appointed federal judge last month struck down Biden’s airplane mask mandate.

Last month then-White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki admitted forced masking on planes had nothing to do with science or keeping people from getting infected with Covid.

Virtually everyone knows masks don’t work.

The Biden Regime knows masks don’t work and Psaki admitted it’s all about power.

“The Department of Justice has indicated that they would appeal, not just because they think it’s entirely reasonable…but because they think for current and future public health crises, uh, we want to preserve that authority for the CDC to have in the future,” Psaki said on April 20.

“Our focus here was seeing what power we had to preserve,” Psaki said.

So it’s not about science.

The Justice Department on Tuesday asked a federal appeals court to overturn a U.S. District Court judge’s April order that declared the government mandate requiring masks on airplanes, buses and in transit hubs unlawful.

Hours after the federal judge in Florida declared the mandate unlawful, the Biden administration said it would no longer enforce it.

The Justice Department told the appeals court that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention order issued in January 2021 was “within” the agency’s legal authority.

The Justice Department’s appeal came just hours before an appeals court filing deadline.

“None of the district court’s quarrels with the CDC order comes close to showing that the CDC has acted outside the ‘zone of reasonableness,’” the Justice Department wrote, adding that the CDC findings in early 2021 provided “ample support for the agency’s determination that there was good cause to make the order effective without delay.”

San Francisco mayor proposes spending millions to eliminate homelessness among transgender and gender nonconforming people

San Francisco Mayor London Breed is suggesting spending millions of dollars to eradicate homelessness among transgender and gender nonconforming individuals in the city.

"Transgender, non-binary, and gender nonconforming San Franciscans are eighteen times more likely to experience homelessness compared to the general population, and we know that the rates are even higher for our minority trans communities," Breed said, according to a press release. "With one of the largest TGNC populations in the country, we not only must ensure that all San Franciscans have access to housing and essential resources through continued investments, but we can show the country that we continue to be a leader on supporting and protecting our trans communities."

The press release from the mayor's office indicates that there are approximately 400 homeless transgender and gender nonconforming residents at any point in time.

"The principle of ending trans homelessness by 2027 means that the existing trans homeless community would be stabilized and housed over the next five years, and any future trans people that become homeless would have the resources and support to get them housed quickly, making any instance of homelessness brief and rare," the press release notes.

Breed's two-year budget proposal calls for allocating millions to tackle the issue. The press release notes that she is proposing "$6 million over two years dedicated to fund short-term rental subsidies, flexible financial assistance, and support to build capacity among non-profit providers serving TGNC residents." She is also calling for "$500,000 to fund behavioral health services for TGNC individuals experiencing homelessness or at-risk of homelessness, building on the $500,000 investment already supporting trans youth experiencing homelessness," the release notes.

The mayor is also proposing "At least 150 long-term housing subsidies through the City’s Flexible Housing Subsidy Pool (FHSP) program" as well as "Acquisition and operations for a new Permanent Supportive Housing site for TGNC and LGBQ+ youth, with a focus on Transition Age Youth (TAY)," the release indicates.

"The plan to end trans homelessness will be a collaborative effort between the Mayor’s Office on Housing and Community Development (MOHCD), the Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing (HSH), the Department of Public Health (DPH), the Office of Transgender Initiatives (OTI), and nonprofit organizations serving TGNC people experiencing homelessness or at-risk of homelessness," the release notes. "This makes San Francisco the first city in the United States to commit to ending homelessness for TGNC people."

US Military Base Cancels ‘Drag Queen Story Hour’ for Kids After Pressure from Senator

An overseas U.S. Air Force Base has canceled a children’s storytime hour program featuring a drag queen after a Republican congressman demanded the show be dropped.

The Ramstein U.S. Air Force Base in Germany canceled the event initially planned for June 2 called “Drag Queen Story Time” after Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) sent a letter on May 26 to Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall urging him to cancel what the congressman called a “public-funded propaganda.”

“I urge you to immediately cancel this politically divisive event, and take appropriate disciplinary action against all involved in allowing this gross abuse of taxpayer funding to place children in a sexualized environment,” Rubio’s letter reads.

The event was to feature drag queen Stacey Teed at the military base’s Ramstein Library and was intended to celebrate the month of June as “pride month.”

“We’re celebrating Pride Month at the Ramstein Library with Drag Queen Storytime!” the now-deleted event announcement on Facebook read. “Join us with special guest reader Stacey Teed! Be sure to wear your brightest and most colorful outfits!”

An Air Force spokesperson later confirmed that the event had been scrapped.

“An advertisement was posted to the base library social media page before the event had completed Ramstein’s established processes for special observance coordination and approval,” a spokesperson from the 86th Airlift Wing told The Post Millennial on May 29.

“The advertisement has been removed and the event will not take place. Ramstein leaders strive to foster a culture based on inclusion where all people are treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their political views, color of their skin, or sexual orientation. The base’s established processes will ensure all future special observance events are properly reviewed and approved prior to advertisement,” the spokesperson said.

In his letter, Rubio noted that U.S. military bases are for warfighting, and the purpose of amenities in these bases, such as schools and libraries, is to support the needs of service members and their families.

“On installations outside the continental United States (OCONUS), these amenities play an even more central role in the life of our servicemembers and their families,” Rubio said. “In light of this, it is completely insane for Ramstein [Air Force Base] to use on-installation resources for rituals like ‘Drag Queen Story Time.’”

Rubio described events like the Ramstein Library’s “Drag Queen Story Time” as “extremely divisive,” because they cause children to interact with “intentionally and explicitly sexualized” adults.

“As I hope you can agree, decisions over children and their bodies should be left to moms and dads serving our nation, not mediated through publicly funded propaganda on U.S. Air Force bases,” the congressman said.

Queer author Michelle Tea was the first to coordinate “Drag Queen Story Hour” events in San Francisco in 2015. The events generally involved a grown male dressed as a female telling queer-related stories to children from 3 to 8 years old.

An example of materials featured at these events, according to Rubio, include books such as “The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish.”

“The author of the book said they wrote it so that children could ‘experience the magic of drag and to get a little practice shaking their hips or shimmying their shoulders to know how [they] can feel fabulous inside of [their] own bodies,’” Rubio said.

“The last thing parents serving their nation overseas should be worried about, particularly in a theater with heightened geopolitical tensions, is whether their children are being exposed to sexually charged content simply because they visited their local library,” the congressman added.

Banana freckle disease found in the Northern Territory again

The plant disease known as banana freckle has been found in the Northern Territory again, three years after it was officially eradicated from Australia.

NT Farmers chief executive Paul Burke said the disease had been confirmed on a rural, residential property in the Batchelor region, south of Darwin, on Tuesday afternoon.

Mr Burke said it was too early to determine the source or the potential spread of the disease.

"Banana freckle causes leaves and fruit to become spotty and has a sandpaper feel when touched," he said.

"The disease significantly reduces fruit quality and yields."

He said the disease was seen as a major threat to Australia's $500 million banana industry.

What happens next?

NT chief plant health officer Anne Walters said the outbreak had been detected on dwarf cavendish bananas and surveillance to understand the extent of the infestation had started.

"It may well be limited to one or several properties in that [Batchelor] area, or it may be more widespread, so we're doing a lot of surveillance," Dr Walters said.

"We have restrictions on the property in question and asked them not to move any plant material or fruit off the property… this restriction is limited to just this property at this stage."

Dr Walters said it was too early to say whether or not the government would enforce more restrictions or conduct an eradication program.

The NT Farmers Association said it would focus all of its efforts "to help eliminate the spread of the disease and limit its financial impact on farmers".

Last outbreak cost $26 million

Australia's first outbreak of banana freckle on the popular cavendish banana variety happened back in 2013.

It led to a large eradication program that resulted in thousands of banana plants being removed from across the Top End.

The NT's commercial banana industry was essentially wiped out during the program, meaning NT supermarkets became reliant on banana imports from interstate.

But it was the community anger that perhaps defined the NT's eradication program, with many residents and business owners feeling the program was poorly communicated and too heavy-handed.
