Drag queen pastor declares 'God is nothing' in blasphemous profanity-laced video

Isaac Simmons, a United Methodist Church candidate for ordination and associate pastor at Hope UMC in Bloomington, Illinois, recently spewed blasphemy in a new slam poem ode to the LGBTQ+ movement.

The drag queen pastor and self-styled "drag-evangelist" who goes by the stage name, Ms. Penny Cost, declared over and over again that "God is nothing," "the Bible is nothing," and "religion is nothing" in the profanity-laced video posted on his website.

Yet while the God of historic Christianity is but a farce, according to Simmons — who repeatedly refers to the Trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as female — queer spirituality and LGBTQ+ identity are, in fact, the true expression of divinity.

"God is nothing, but if she were, she would be yes, queen-ing her way down the runways of Paris and Montreal, strutting between that tightrope pulled taught between absurdity and opulence, balancing between too much and never enough," he proclaims. "Nothing, but if she were, she would be a seamstress of divine couture, weaving together string theory and self portraits to form the fiercest gowns of queer existence."

"God is nothing but a drag queen with a microphone of biblical f***ing proportions," he adds.

"Out of a closet of darkness, from under a shroud of secrecy came the beauty of humanity, humanity made in the gender-bending, identity-breaking, system-shaking image of God, the imago Dei," he declares. "From Adam and Steve to you and to me."

Simmons then turns his attention to the "fed up theology of toxic masculinity and the sy ideals of the oppressive regime" and "Christian terrorists who wield their flappable doctrine to inflict harm on God's queerly-anointed creation."

The Bible, God, and religion "must be nothing," he concludes, unless we wield it into something."

In the caption of the video, Simmons dedicates his performance to so-called deconstructionists, non-literalists, and queer spiritualists, and claims his message is "directed to those who actively and passively cause harm against the LGBTQIA2S+ Community due to their understandings of Scripture."

Amazingly, despite his clear denial of and hatred for the basic tenets of Christianity, the United Methodist Church has certified Simmons as a candidate for ministry. At Hope UMC, where Simmons currently serves, the proudly queer pastor has hosted "drag queen Sundays," which he describes as "basically just a church service that just happened to be performed in drag."

Simmons has become a lightning rod amid a years-long clash over LGBTQ+ issues within the United Methodist Church. Earlier this year, the Global Methodist Church — a more conservative Methodist denomination that holds to a traditional view of marriage and opposes ordaining LGBT clergy — announced it would formally split from the denomination.

Facebook Slumps After Sheryl Sandberg Steps Down As COO

Just moments after Amber Heard was found guilty of defaming Johnny Depp with malice, the stock of Facebook - which bizarrely still calls itself Meta at least until the company decides to change its name back to normal - tumbled on news that Sheryl Sandberg is stepping down as chief operating officer.

Sandberg, who Bloomberg describes as "one of the most recognized figures in global business after helping Facebook transform from a startup into a multibillion-dollar advertising powerhouse" although we are confident others would have less effusive descriptions of the 52-year-old, will remain on the board of Meta according to a post on the social network Wednesday. Javier Olivan, who has led the company’s growth efforts for years, will take Sandberg’s place as COO when she formally steps down in the fall.

Sandberg, a Democrat who previously served as chief of staff for Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers, joined Facebook in 2008 and was key to turning it into a social media giant that generated almost $120 billion in revenue last year. Along the way, she became an influential author - publishing “Lean In” in 2013 - and served as the highest-profile face of the company next to CEO Mark Zuckerberg. She also answered for Facebook’s privacy and policy missteps over the years, attempting to improve its relationship with the public and regulators.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Sandberg called her time at Meta the “honor and privilege of a lifetime,” but joked that it’s also “not the most manageable job anyone has ever had.”

“It’s a decision I didn’t come to lightly, but it’s been 14 years,” she said on Wednesday. “I want to make more room to do more philanthropically, to do more with my foundation.”

Fed Downgrades U.S. Economy as Growth Slows in Beige Book Report

The economy in many parts of the U.S. has slowed in recent weeks, a report from the Federal Reserve showed Wednesday.

The majority of the Fed’s 12 districts reported “slight or modest” growth, the central bank said in its Beige Book. Four reported “moderate growth.”

That’s a downgrade from the prior report issued in April when the Fed said it saw moderate growth throughout the country.

“Four districts explicitly noted that the pace of growth had slowed since the prior period,” the Fed said.

The Beige Book is a report based on anecdotal information collected by the Fed’s 12 regional banks. It is compiled by the Philadelphia Fed and published eight times a year, typically a couple of weeks before the Federal Open Market Committee meets to set monetary policy. The FOMC’s next meeting is scheduled to begin June 14 and conclude on June 15.

The June report noted that manufacturing growth continued in most districts. Retail contacts mentioned some softening as consumers balked at higher prices. The Fed said residential real estate contacts observed weakness due to high prices and rising mortgage rates.

Many businesses continue to report difficulties finding workers as their greatest challenge. Supply chain disruptions was the second biggest challenge.

Eight Fed Districts say that expectations for future growth have diminished and contacts in three districts—Boston, Philadelphia, and Dallas—said they are worried about a recession. China’s Covid lockdowns were mentioned by contacts in the Boston, Cleveland, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas, and Kansas City districts.

Inflationary pressures are described as “strong” or “robust” by most districts, especially for input prices. Two districts noted that rapid inflation was a continuation of the pre-existing trend while three—Philadelphia, Boston, Richmond—said that price increases had moderated. About half of the districts reported that businesses maintain pricing power, passing on costs to clients and customers. More than half, however, cited customer pushback against the inflated prices, either with smaller order volumes or switching to less expensive brands.

A Missouri manufacturer noted that industry attitudes toward price increases have shifted, with sales staff and customers “numb” to continued increases. Some businesses in the St. Louis District said they have started to warn customers of price increases several months in advance.

Biden’s Energy Department Calls for Pride ‘This Month, Next Month, Always’ as Gas Prices Hit Record High

President Joe Biden’s Department of Energy (DOE) marked the first day of “pride month” by calling for pride “this month,” “next month” and “always” as gas prices continue to skyrocket, reaching another record high on Wednesday.

“Pride. This month. Next month. Always,” the Energy Department said in a post to social media, making it clear that the DOE “proudly” celebrates pride month. Accompanying the brief statement is an image of the “Progress Pride Flag,” widely embraced by other federal agencies this year as well. The flag includes the traditional colors of the rainbow but adds light pink, baby blue and white for the transgender community as well as black and brown for minority communities:

“So comforting to know that you’ve invested your time and effort into this nonsense when the Secretary of Energy doesn’t even know how much oil the US consumes daily and Americans are paying the highest prices ever for fuel,” one user wrote.

“Now if only we could celebrate any of you doing your job well,” another added.

The tweet coincides with another day of record-breaking gas prices, which jumped five cents overnight, reaching $4.671 for regular gas. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm, however, has remained in denial, telling Americans that they can “thank the activity of Vladimir Putin for invading Ukraine” — a remark Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) dismissed as “utter nonsense” during a hearing last month.

“It is not administration policies that have affected supply and demand,” she claimed, causing Hawley to set the record straight.

Attempted Ronald Reagan Assassin John Hinckley Gets Unconditional Release

John Hinckley, who attempted to assassinate former President Ronald Reagan in the 1980s, will get an unconditional release, a judge ruled Wednesday.

The 67-year-old will be released on June 15, said U.S. District Judge Paul Friedman in the Wednesday order. Previously, the judge said Hinckley would be released as long as he remained on good behavior.

“John Hinckley tried to kill the president of the United States. He came very close to doing so. We came to learn President Reagan was very close to death. James Brady was damaged for life,” he said Wednesday. Brady, a former White House press secretary, was paralyzed in the attack.

The judge added: “In 1981, over 40 years ago, John Hinckley was a profoundly troubled young man. He had acute psychosis. … He began to stalk the president. The president [at the time] was Jimmy Carter. He never got close to Jimmy Carter. But he did get close to Ronald Reagan.”

Friedman said Hinckley has been in “sustained remission” for over 25 years and has “followed every condition imposed by the court,” adding that he has “demonstrated self-awareness and responsibility for his mental illness.”

“We are not losing sight of what he did 40 years ago,” the judge continued. “He’s been scrutinized, he’s passed every test. I am confident Mr. Hinckley will do well in the years remaining to him. I hope the public will understand, he has made such progress, and he’s not a danger anymore.”

Mike Tyson Podcast With Alex Jones Censored After Pressure From Big Tech

A much hyped interview that was set to be broadcast on boxing legend Mike Tyson’s Hotboxin’ podcast with Alex Jones was censored after Tyson’s production company reportedly came under pressure from Big Tech and other outside groups.

Tyson reached out to Jones in early April, telling him that he was a listener and a fan before inviting him to appear on his iconic podcast.

Jones and his team then flew out to meet Tyson and his production team before filming what was set to be a groundbreaking interview.

During the conversation, Jones and Tyson covered a multitude of deep and thought provoking issues, no doubt helped by mushrooms and pot consumed during the podcast.

Although Jones and Tyson immediately hit it off and the podcast went well, during the interview, Tyson pointed at two or three people in his production crew who he said had warned him that Jones was a “villain” and not to give him a platform.

While the people in Tyson’s production crew who Jones personally dealt with were pleasant and enthusiastic, it appears as though others were more nervous about the podcast.

Over a month went by without the podcast airing, during which time Tyson facetimed Jones and assured him that the episode would be uploaded soon.

However, the very next day one of Tyson’s assistants called to reveal that although the production crew were fighting to have it released, the production company itself had caved and decided to censor the interview.

It was also revealed that the reason for doing so was that the production company had come under pressure from YouTube and other outside interest groups that demanded the podcast never see the light of day.

Ankara plans to “clear” Syrian cities of Tal Rifat and Manbij of “terrorists,” President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said

Turkey will step up its efforts to create what it calls a 30-kilometer-wide “security zone” alongside its southern border with Syria, the country’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Wednesday.

The Turkish Armed Forces are to launch an “anti-terrorist” operation, which will target the northern Syrian cities of Tal Rifat and Manbij in particular, he told a meeting of his Justice and Development (AK) Party in Ankara.

The president did not specify the exact date when the operation is to start. Neither did he reveal the number of troops expected to take part in it.

Turkey considers Kurdish militias in northern Syria to be an extension of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) – a militant organization engaged in a decades-long conflict with Turkey. Established as a separatist movement seeking independence for Kurds, it later shifted its focus towards broader autonomy for Kurds within Turkey. Ankara considers it a terrorist group, as does the US, the EU and some other nations, like Canada and Australia.

US cyber chief admits to attacks against Russia in Ukraine

Cyber Command went “hunting” in Kiev, says General Nakasone

US Cyber Command specialists were deployed to Ukraine and conducted offensive operations against Russia, its commander and NSA Director General Paul Nakasone said on Wednesday.

In an interview with Sky News, on the sidelines of a cyber conference in Estonia, Nakasone also revealed that US eavesdroppers conduct information warfare, with the help of corporate media such as CNN.

Nakasone, a four-star general, heads both the Cyber Command and the National Security Agency out of Fort Meade, Maryland. He was in Tallinn on Wednesday for CyCon – the 14th International Conference on Cyber Conflict, hosted by NATO.

In the interview with Sky, the general said US cyber specialists have been deployed to 16 overseas countries at the invitation of their allied governments, to “hunt forward”: seek out foreign hackers and identify the tools they use.

“We went in December 2021 at the invitation of the Kiev government to come and hunt with them. We stayed there for a period of almost 90 days,” Nakasone said. This team left Ukraine in February, along with all other US troops, ahead of the Russian incursion.

Nakasone also confirmed – for the very first time, according to Sky – that the US was conducting offensive hacking operations in support of Ukraine.

We’ve conducted a series of operations across the full spectrum; offensive, defensive, [and] information operations.

According to the general, the difference between Russian and US information warfare is that Moscow lies while Washington tells the truth. As an example, he cited a 2020 case of “troll farms” he said Russia was developing in Africa. The NSA and Cyber Command responded by informing the FBI – but also CNN, which provided “a flashlight that suddenly exposes this type of malicious behavior.”

Undercover Sting Nets 43 Arrests for Child Sex Trafficking, Drugs in Arizona: ICE

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced on May 27 that an undercover operation targeting commercial human trafficking, including sex trafficking, had led to the arrests of 43 individuals.

The operation, in which officials worked alongside Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), was dubbed “Spring Fling” and targeted alleged sexual predators in Arizona, focusing on hotel prostitution and street prostitution enforcement, ICE said in a press release.

HSI joined the Scottsdale Police Department Human Exploitation and Trafficking (HEaT) Unit and the police departments from Phoenix, Mesa, Tempe, Gilbert, and Surprise, along with Arizona State University Police Department for the operation.

In total, 43 people were arrested for crimes that included child sex trafficking, prostitution, drug charges, and misconduct involving weapons.

Officials said that the suspects allegedly solicited or brokered deals for various sex acts before being apprehended. The majority of those arrested were charged with prostitution.

These latest arrests come shortly after law enforcement officers were able to locate and recover 70 missing children, most of them in West Texas, following a three-week operation involving multiple agencies.

Known as “Operation Lost Souls,” the police action ran from the end of April through mid-May in El Paso, Midland, and Ector and Tom Green counties in Texas.

The missing children ranged from 10 to 17 years old and were victims of sex trafficking and physical and sexual abuse. Many of them were runaways.

Although a majority of the children were located in West Texas, some were also recovered from the Dallas–Fort Worth area, as well as the state of Colorado, and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. The agencies provided victim services and counseling to the recovered children and their families.

“Operation Lost Souls exemplifies Homeland Security Investigations’ commitment to protecting the public from crimes of victimization. In this case, we are looking out for our children – our community’s most precious resource,” said HSI El Paso Deputy Special Agent in Charge Taekuk Cho.
