Federal Grand Jury Indicts Trump Advisor Peter Navarro

A federal grand jury on Friday indicted Trump’s economic advisor Peter Navarro for contempt of Congress after he refused to cooperate with Liz Cheney’s unconstitutional January 6 Committee.

Earlier this year the abusive January 6 panel voted to advance contempt charges against Trump’s aides Dan Scavino and Peter Navarro.

Peter Navarro and Dan Scavino didn’t provide any documents to the House panel and refused to show up for their depositions.

The full House of Representatives voted in April to refer Navarro to the Justice Department for not complying with the J-6 panel’s subpoena.

Navarro was indicted and faces two contempt counts.

A federal grand jury has indicted former Trump White House adviser Peter Navarro for contempt of Congress after he refused to cooperate in the House January 6 committee’s investigation.

According to the Justice Department, Navarro will make an appearance in court Friday at 2:30 p.m. ET in Washington.

He faces two contempt counts: one for his failure to produce documents demanded by the committee and the second for failing to show up for subpoenaed testimony before House investigators.

The indictment comes after Navarro revealed Monday that he had been subpoenaed by federal prosecutors who were seeking documents related to his decision. Navarro said in an interview with MSNBC Thursday night that he “responded” to the Justice Department, but he declined to say he would be willing to turn over the documents requested by prosecutors.

A $2 billion investment by a Saudi Arabian wealth fund in Jared Kushner’s private equity firm is the subject of an investigation by the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, according to a letter the committee sent to former President Trump’s son-in-law and White House adviser. The New York Times reported the investigation on Thursday.

In a letter requesting documents, committee chair Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) writes to Kushner that the government wants to know “whether your personal financial interests improperly influenced U.S. foreign policy” during the Trump administration. The letter requests that Kushner turn over any communications he had with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who controls the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF).

Judicial Watch Uncovers Dozens of Records of Illegal Molecular Research Conducted in America in Violation of NIH Guidelines

Conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch on Friday announced it received more than 2,000 pages of records revealing numerous cases where illegal molecular research was conducted in America in violation of National Institute of Health (NIH) guidelines.

The dangerous research was conducted in America without proper approval.

One email uncovered from Judicial Watch from February 2020: Biosafety Officer for the University of Nebraska – Lincoln Dr. Matt Anderson reports an incident that began in March 2018 wherein Dr. Shi-Hua Xiang created an HIV pseudo virus containing Marburg glycoprotein M78 in a university Biosafety Level 2 laboratory, for which he did not have authorization.

Dr. Xiang was told to cease any further work, Judicial Watch reported.

“During the investigation, it was determined that Xiang was assisted by student researchers and that the experiment had continued until enough virions were created to complete the experiments that were testing novel peptide inhibitors of viral entry. The report states that Xiang completed NIH Guidelines training in 2012, 2018 and 2019 on responsibilities of obtaining approval prior to engaging in these types of experiments.”

Judicial Watch announced today that it received 2369 pages of records from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) revealing over two dozen cases where research involving recombinant or synthetic nucleic acid (r/sNA) molecules was conducted in America without proper approval and in violation of NIH guidelines.

Recombinant or synthetic nucleic acid (r/sNA) molecules are constructed outside of living cells. The molecules are made by joining DNA or RNA segments (natural or synthetic) to DNA or RNA molecules that can replicate within a living cell. They may also result from replication of previously constructed recombinant molecules.

NIH guidelines detail safety practices and containment procedures for basic and clinical research involving recombinant or synthetic nucleic acid molecules – including the creation and use of organisms and viruses containing recombinant or synthetic nucleic acid molecules. These guidelines require that any significant problems, violations, or any significant research-related accidents and illnesses be reported to NIH within 30 days.

The documents further showed that the research, which occurred at Biosafety Level 1/2/3 laboratories, led to dozens of dangerous mishaps, accidents, and spills.

Russia not to blame for global food crisis – Putin

Russia is ready to aid in transporting Ukrainian grain but the western sanctions make it impossible, the Russian president has said

Restrictions imposed by the US and its allies against Russia and Belarus will only exacerbate the looming global food crisis by affecting fertilizer trade and sending the food prices further up, Russian President Vladimir Putin says.

In a special TV interview on Friday evening, following a meeting with African leaders in Sochi, Putin accused Western leaders of trying "to shift the responsibility for what is happening in the world food market."

The root causes of the crisis lie with the US financial policies during the Covid-19 pandemic and Europe's over-reliance on renewables and short-term gas contracts, which have led to price hikes and rising inflation, Putin has said.

The unfavorable situation on the world's food market did not begin to take shape yesterday, or even from the moment Russia launched the special military operation in the Donbass and Ukraine.

"It began to take shape as early as February 2020 in the process of combating the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic," he added.

High gas prices, which came as a result of under-investment in the traditional energy sector, have forced many fertilizer producers to shut down their businesses because of unprofitability, the Russian president has argued. Such developments have shrunk the fertilizer supply, which, in turn, has sent the food prices up, he added.

Yet, instead of making some real steps to remedy the situation, the western nations just pin the blame on Moscow, Putin has said. The Russian president has dismissed all claims that Moscow is preventing the Ukrainian grain from being exported to other nations as a “bluff.” He has also said that Russia is ready to increase its own grain export up to 50 million tons.

Putin has pointed to the fact that there are several ways to safely transport the grain from the Ukrainian territory, including through Poland and Hungary. He has also said that the Russian forces are about to finish demining the areas of the Black Sea it controls to facilitate safe transfer of goods through the Azov and Black Seas.

The Russian leader has also called the Belarus transport route “the cheapest way” of making the Ukrainian grain reach the customers around the world. Yet, using it would require western nations to lift sanctions they imposed against Minsk, he has added.

Earlier on Friday, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has told the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres that Belarus is ready to transport the Ukrainian grain to the European ports by rail but it would require those ports to be able to accept wares from Belarus, which is currently impossible because of sanctions.

“To create the conditions for the transit of the Ukrainian grain, the ports that would serve as shipping points should be able to load and unload Belarusian goods,” Lukashenko has said.

Guterres, in turn, has said that he would discuss the issue with the leaders of the relevant nations in the coming days.

Ukrainians told to report on Russia sympathizers

The minister of digital transformation suggests a chatbot can be used to disclose those suspected of aiding enemy forces and spreading Russian propaganda

Ukrainians have been urged to use a Telegram chatbot to report people they suspect of aiding Russian forces and spreading Kremlin propaganda.

Ukrainian Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov wrote on Facebook on Thursday that the eVorog (Enemy) chatbot has already received over 700 messages such as “he went over to the side of the occupiers, helps the Russian military, repairs enemy equipment and supports the actions of the occupiers in robbing houses.”

“If you know that someone from your village or town is collaborating with the occupiers, is spreading Russian propaganda, report them to the Enemy chatbot,” wrote Fedorov, adding that all submissions are received, checked and sent over to Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU).

He also urged citizens to keep their own safety in mind, asking them to “videotape the collaborators in secret” and delete photos and correspondence with the enemy. Fedorov stated that if there is no opportunity to take photos, then people can simply send the information in plain text.

One of the comments under Fedorov’s post urged the minister to pay special attention to validating the messages received by the chatbot, warning that, given the internal strife in the country, it could lead to a lot of innocent people being accused.

The eVorog chatbot was launched back in March and Ukrainians were initially instructed to use it to report sightings of Russian equipment or forces and send exact geo-location data of enemy positions along with photos and videos, which would be later shared with the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Dawn Fitzpatrick, chief investment officer for Soros Fund Management, described a recession as “inevitable” in a recent interview, but noted that she was not overly concerned about the general health of the economy.

“The bottom line is a recession is inevitable - it’s a matter of when,” said Fitzpatrick in an interview with Bloomberg Business on Tuesday.

“There is no doubt that interest rates are going to go higher, and the Fed is going to move very, very quickly,” Fitzpatrick continued.

“That said, interest rates net of inflation are still negative, so monetary policy is still really easy, so again I do think rate increases will slow the economy and will impact inflation, but I think this economy has some shock absorbers built in that will allow that to happen … I don’t think we’ll avoid a recession, I just think it will be further out than people expect.”

Fitzpatrick was also asked about the risk of further economic damage occurring as a consequence of Russia’s continuing invasion of Ukraine, which she said would not be a major liability for the United States, as the country remains uniquely insulated from the developments in Eastern Europe.

Kuwait’s government announced it has summoned a senior US diplomat over concerns about the US Embassy in Kuwait tweeting its support for gay pride month.

To mark the beginning of LGBTQ+ pride month, where a movement endorsed by every single establishment organ in western society marches to celebrate and protect its ‘rights’, the US Embassy in Kuwait didn’t hesitate to signal its virtue.

The tweet asserted that Joe Biden is a “champion for the human rights” of LGBTQ+ people and “all human beings should be treated with respect and dignity and should be able to live without fear no matter who they are or whom they love.”

Meanwhile, there are no plans by gay rights activists to march on the Kuwaiti embassy in America, or indeed on any other embassy that represents a country where homosexuality is illegal and in some cases punishable by death.

Chile’s Socialist President Calls for ‘Total Ban on Gun Ownership’

Chile’s Socialist President, Gabriel Boric, is calling for a “total ban on gun ownership” and is rolling out a new “national security plan” that includes beefing up the country’s uniformed police, the Carabinieri Corps, in preparation for gun control and confiscation operations.

Gabriel Boric, the 35-year-old Socialist tied to Justin Trudeau who was sworn in as President of Chile in March after winning a December run-off election, has dubbed his gun control push the “Less Guns, More Security Program.” Chile already boasts one of Latin America’s lowest rates of gun-related crime, as well as violent crime in general, but those on the country’s political left have still moved in unison with others around the globe to disarm its population.

On May 31st, just days after Canada’s left-wing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced a ban on handguns, the Canadian government announced the scheduling of a June 6th meeting between Boric and Trudeau, noting that the two have a lot in common, and a lot to discuss as they “strengthen” their “collaboration.”

Two days after the meeting was announced, Boric gave his plans to seize firearms from the Chilean people to the nation’s Congress.

“Armed violence will not be tolerated in our country, and that is why our Less Arms, More Security Program proposes the radical limitation of their legal access,” Boric told legislators, asking them for their “support to pass a law that allows us to move towards a total ban on the possession of weapons.”

In Chile, firearm ownership is legally permitted for most law-abiding citizens over the age of 18, but the nation’s constitution doesn’t address the matter, leaving Chilean gun owners at the mercy of their leaders’ political whims. Included in Boric’s gun control plans is reportedly a partial reform of the nation’s uniformed police force, the Carabinieri Corps, expanding their authority on guns and dedicating more resources to their “inspections” – also known as searches – of the Chilean citizens and their properties.

Meta investigated Sheryl Sandberg for using corporate resources to plan wedding: report

Departing Meta executive Sheryl Sandberg announced her resignation from the tech giant during an ongoing probe into her alleged use of corporate resources to plan her wedding, according to a report Thursday.

Sandberg, 52, shocked the business world Wednesday with her decision to quit as Meta’s chief operating officer, saying she wanted to focus on her nuptials and future philanthropic efforts.

But the powerful executive also reportedly felt burned out after building Facebook into a global force and scrutiny of her every move — which includes a review by Meta into her upcoming wedding to marketing CEO Tom Bernthal.

Meta’s probe into whether Sandberg misappropriated company resources to plan the bash was still ongoing as of May, sources familiar with the matter told the Wall Street Journal.

The investigation comes after a separate inquiry into allegations that Sandberg pressured the Daily Mail to spike a critical story about her then-boyfriend, Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick.

A Meta representative pushed back on the notion that internal probes were factors in Sandberg’s reasons for walking away from the company.

“None of this has anything to do with her personal decision to leave,” said Caroline Nolan, a Meta spokeswoman.

Meta did not immediately return The Post’s request for further comment.

In a lengthy Facebook post explaining her decision, Sandberg noted her upcoming wedding to Bernthal and said she would formally leave her post as Meta’s COO in the fall.

“I am not entirely sure what the future will bring — I have learned no one ever is,” Sandberg said. “But I know it will include focusing more on my foundation and philanthropic work, which is more important to me than ever given how critical this moment is for women. And as Tom and I get married this summer, parenting our expanded family of five children.”

Sandberg’s personal and professional challenges occurred as Meta attempts to rebrand itself as a metaverse company following a series of scandals — including damning reports regarding the harmful effects that Instagram and other company-owned platforms have on the mental health of teenage girls.

NY Dems Pass Ban on Body Armor Purchases, Raise Minimum Age to Buy ‘Semiautomatic Rifles,’ Expand Red Flag Law…

New York Democrats passed Gov. Kathy Hochul’s (D) gun control wish list Thursday, including a ban on body armor purchases, a higher age minimum for “semiautomatic rifle purchases,” and an expansion of the state’s red flag law.

The New York Times reported that Democrats “plunged into the national debate” with their gun control votes.

On June 1, Breitbart News noted that Gov. Hochul was reaching beyond firearms that Democrats call “assault weapons,” targeting “semiautomatic rifles” in general.

On May 31 Hochul tweeted, “New York already has some of the toughest gun laws in the country — but there’s more work to do to keep New Yorkers safe. We are going to strengthen gun laws, give law enforcement tools to prevent crime, & stop the spread of dangerous weapons.”

Hochul posted a summary of the new gun control bills to her website:

The bills would: require information sharing between state, local and federal agencies when guns are used in crimes; make threatening mass harm a crime; require microstamping for new guns; increase accountability for social media platforms; eliminate grandfathering of large capacity ammunition feeding devices; prohibit the purchase of body armor for anyone who is not engaged in an eligible profession; strengthen the Red Flag law by expanding the list of people who can file for Extreme Risk Protection Orders, and other measures; require that an individual obtain a license, with a minimum age of 21, to purchase a semiautomatic rifle; and close the “any other weapon” loophole.

New York Democrat legislators rallied behind gun control.

During debate, state Sen. Gustavo Rivera (D) praised the idea of requiring a permit for semiautomatic rifle purchases, saying, “I want it to be a hassle.”

Dozens of Jerusalem Day Videos Showed Jews Beating Palestinians. Only Two Were Arrested

Assaults, vandalism, racist chants, pepper spray and rock-throwing were documented on Jerusalem Day, in some cases in front of the police. Nevertheless, the vast majority of detainees are Palestinians

Numerous videos and photographs taken on Sunday in Jerusalem appear to show offenses committed by Flag March participants against Palestinians along the route of the march and in areas adjacent to the Old City. The police say more than 60 people were arrested and detained in the city that day, the large majority of them Palestinian. Only two of the people arrested were Jews.

In the videos one sees Jews and Palestinians committing assaults, acts of vandalism and theft, shouting racist chants and incitement, using pepper spray and throwing rocks. In a statement issued by the police at the end of Jerusalem Day, District Commander Doron Turgeman said: “I wish to express great admiration for our commanders and police officers who operated in all the sectors to maintain security and law and order.”

The videos and photos posted on social media paint a different picture – one in which Jewish rioters acted with near-total impunity for many hours in several parts of the capital. Some of the alleged offenses were committed by people who did not conceal their identity and in the proximity of police officers who only moved the rioters away but did not arrest them. The two Jews who were arrested are suspected of involvement in the assault on Iyad Harab, a journalist for public broadcaster KAN’s Arabic service.
