At least 2 people stabbed at Encino Hospital Medical Center; armed suspect still inside
At least two staff members at the Encino Hospital Medical Center were stabbed Friday afternoon, and the armed suspect was holed up in the facility, police said.
Los Angeles police officers were called to the medical center in the 16200 block of Ventura Boulevard just before 4 p.m. for the reported stabbing, Officer Jeff Lee said. At least two employees on the medical staff were found with stab wounds.
Their conditions were not immediately known.
The suspect was inside a room somewhere in the facility, and police were clearing out the area while they worked to detain him, said Officer Drake Madison.
Information on the suspect or possible motive were not immediately available.
