Israeli media: Anger in Cyprus because of Israeli maneuvers

According to the Israeli website Walla!, Cyprus's main opposition party, Akel, called the joint military exercises with the Israeli occupation forces "a dangerous development for the country."

Akel, one of the two major parties on the island, said in a statement that Cyprus "should avoid cooperating with a foreign army with a history of occupation, colonization, war crimes and violation of international laws, all of which remind us of the Turkish occupation in the island.”

The party further said that the militarization of Cyprus's regional partnerships and the support of the island's National Guard for Israeli military personnel do not serve "the interests and security of our country and our people."

Locals living in the vicinity of the exercises had repeatedly complained of the noise caused by the artillery and military vehicles.

On Wednesday, Lebanon's Foreign Minister received the Cypriot ambassador, Panayiotis Kyriacou, to ask for clarifications over the joint military exercises with the Israeli occupation. Cyprus's Foreign Ministry released a statement later on saying that the exercises are not directed "against any other country in the region."

Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib received the Cypriot ambassador, Panayiotis Kyriacou, to ask for clarifications over the joint military exercises with the Israeli occupation.

"Bou Habib objected to Israeli media reports that [the exercises] are targeted at Lebanon," the foreign ministry statement read, noting that the Cypriot ambassador to Beirut denied the reports.

"The Cypriot ambassador affirmed that the Israeli exercises are aimed at training the border guard to defend Cyprus," the statement added.

The Cypriot ministry of defense "will issue an explanatory statement [on Thursday] following the conclusion of the military exercises," Kyriacou said.

The Israeli occupation has been conducting its so-called "Chariots of Fire" exercises, the largest military drill in its history in occupied Palestine, as the region undergoes high tensions.

Israeli media reports earlier indicated that Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett had pushed for a "desirable offensive operation in the Gaza Strip," while Security Minister Benny Gantz, the IOF, and the Shin Bet pushed for attacks on the occupied West Bank.

This comes as Israeli media reported that Israeli occupation Prime Minister Naftali Bennett discussed with his advisers the possibility of an early election.

According to the Israeli Haaretz newspaper, informed sources said, "Bennett estimated that the government, which he leads, would fall in the coming weeks."

The drills prompted the Lebanese resistance, Hezbollah, to state that it would be hiking its mobilization and calling on its freedom fighters to be prepared to confront the enemy.

The Israeli occupation's prime minister, Naftali Bennett, said on Friday that "Israel" stands before a true test, and that his government is close to collapse, standing at a historical crossroads, accusing Benjamin Netanyahu and the opposition he leads of spreading poison and chaos.

Bennett, in a missive he published on social media, said that the ancient kingdoms of "Israel" had been destroyed twice before because of internal conflict: the first, 80 years after its establishment, and the second, 77 years after, adding that "Israel" is now in its third era, drawing closer to its eighth decade. He went on to say that everyone stands before a true test of whether or not they will be able to preserve "Israel".

He noted that one year ago, "Israel" "came to one of the most difficult moments it has ever known," amid chaos, endless election spins, government paralysis, and the cities of "Lod [al-Ledd] and Acre [Akka] burning in the face of a humiliated and conflicted government," referring to the Palestinian protests that took place amid the battle of Seif Al-Quds last year.

The Israeli PM further noted that "Israel" was in a state of weakness amid the battle of Seif Al-Quds, and was trapped in “the worship of one man and the enslavement of the state’s energy to his legal needs,” referring to then-Israeli PM Netanyahu.

Bennett further added that the Israeli occupation stood days away from a "fifth election cycle that would have taken the country apart," and took the most difficult decision "in my life" to form a government that would "save 'Israel' from the chaos and have it function again."

In occupied Palestine, 69% of Jews are worried about the destiny of the so-called "state", and 67% say that action with weapons and the enforcement of penalties should be used to "avoid confrontations between Jews and Arabs." This is the result of a poll conducted against the backdrop of the operations taking place in "Israel" and the anniversary of the Seif Al-Quds Battle.

Another report by Israeli journalist Noam Dvir for Israel Hayom revealed that Israelis are "concerned by societal rifts" and the "rising cost of living", according to a poll by the "Pnima movement", which is working on addressing the rifts in Israeli society.

According to the report, around one-third of Israelis (35%) said the occupation is not treating "bereaved families" properly, adding that 60% of Israelis aged 29 and under were of that opinion.

"Israel's" former Minister of Internal Security, Avigdor Kahalani, said on April 30 that he fears the fate of "Israel" after one generation, adding that "internal problems will destroy it."
