Kind of slim pickins at the Homo Depot I just got back from but that is to be expected this time of year. I stockpile seeds and store them on a container in a cool corner of the garage. I basically replenished my green pepper, corn, cabbage and got some beets for this year. The rest are for next year as I am almost complete in planting from last years seed stock.. Got 2 green pepper plants and a few tomatoes to go in later today. Pre grown plant shelves were full.

I fucking love gardening.

AND seeds really don't expire for a couple of years. I kind of call bullshit on the kids story or someone ripped them off.

I always plant outside after memorial day. Night freezes here in The Sierras are brutal until then. Have a green house going year round though.

I'm on the Nevada side. I have a mature apple, plumb and a pear. Used to have a cherry and a peach but my away from home to much job killed those before I got the drip system in.

I start everything in March and April in the greenhouse and transplant after Memorial day. Beets I do from seed twice a year. Now and after labor day. Too hot to do three plantings in the summer here. I Have volunteer carrots all over the place this year as I let one go to seed last year and forgot to harvest them.

Potatoes too. Let them grow legs and chop them up carefully and put them just barely in the dirt. Cover with garden mulch or soil when they get about 4 to 6 inches tall and keep moist. I'm growing potatoes from a mulch pit I started 16 years ago. Threw what I thought were rotten ones in it one year and the whole pit turned into a potato mound. Best part of that mound is all the deer in the area know it is there and the dog water is right by it. Venison!!
