San Francisco Ousts Soros-Backed Uber-Progressive DA In Recall Vote

In 2019, Chesa Boudin openly campaigned on a hard-left, soft-on-crime platform - and got elected as San Francisco’s chief prosecutor. On Tuesday, San Francisco voters gave him the boot, having discovered, as Andrea Widburg notes, that the reality of hard-left governance is much less appealing than the theory and promises.

As The Epoch Times' Brad Jones details below, unlike California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s recent recall election, Boudin didn’t face any opponents. On June 7, San Francisco voters were simply asked to answer yes or no to the question, “Shall Chesa Boudin be recalled (removed) from the Office of District Attorney?”

With more than 61.3 percent of the voters selecting “yes,” San Francisco Mayor London Breed must now appoint an interim district attorney until Nov. 8, when a permanent replacement will be elected. The no votes totaled 40,921 (38.7 percent).

Boudin, a former public defender backed by leftwing billionaire George Soros, came under fire for failed progressive criminal-justice reform policies that have led to a sharp increase in drug overdose deaths, homelessness, and thefts, including smash-and-grab robberies, car burglaries, shoplifting, and other property crimes.

Homicide rates and gun crimes have increased since Boudin became took office. He has strived to end cash bail, reduce incarceration rates, and scrutinize police misconduct.

Boudin fired seven prosecutors his second day on the job. In mid-December, The Epoch Times reported that more than 50 prosecutors, support, and victim services staff had either been fired or had quit their jobs over Boudin’s progressive agenda.

A former prosecutor who produced a list of those who were fired or quit left their jobs said at the time, “the office is imploding,” and requested anonymity for fear of reprisal.

Superior Court Judge Bruce Chan chastised Boudin at a Sept. 24, 2021, court proceeding. Chan cited the “constant turnover” and expressed his “disapproval of the manner in which the Office of the District Attorney is being managed,” according to court transcripts.

Biden Sends Dark Signal on Attempted Assassination of Justice Brett Kavanaugh; Says Nothing to Reporters, Issues No Official Statement, Instead Deputy Press Secretary Emails a Couple Journos

Joe Biden and his team at the White house have sent a dark signal on how important they believe is the attempted assassination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh early this morning.

Biden has not issued a formal statement, nor have any comments condemning the attempted assassination been posted to the White House or POTUS Twitter accounts as of this writing. Instead Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates emailed a statement to reporters at Fox News and the Daily Wire while at the same time Bates spent time online denying that the Biden administration encouraged the recent protests at conservative justices’ homes following the leak of a draft decision overturning Roe v. Wade.

Incredibly Biden spoke to reporters for a minute Wednesday at Joint Base Andrews after the news broke and said nothing about the attempt on Kavanaugh’s life.

Kiev names condition for resuming grain exports

“No grain will go anywhere” unless Ukraine’s security is ensured, a senior official has said

Ukraine will resume grain exports only when its own security is ensured, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexey Danilov said on Tuesday as the Russian military offensive continues in his country.

Speaking on national TV, Danilov recalled a statement by the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs “which clearly said that the first issue is security, the second issue is security, the third issue is security.”

“If this issue is not resolved, and the security of our country is not ensured, no grain will go anywhere. Because for us the issue of security is the number one priority,” Danilov stated, without specifying what exactly he meant by the term “security.”

At the same time, he claimed that “this issue is under control” and made clear that the Ukrainian authorities remember their obligations.

“Nobody wants the world to be hungry,” he stressed.

Ukraine and Russia have accused each other of impeding grain exports. Kiev and its Western supporters claim that, by blocking Ukraine’s Black Sea ports, Russia is aggravating the global food crisis. Moscow has rejected such claims, saying it is ready to ensure safe passage for grain-carrying vessels and that the disruption stems from extensive mining of the shoreline by the Ukrainian military.

FBI Seizes Electronic Data of Retired Four-Star General Related to His Role in Illegal Lobbying Campaign on Behalf of Qatar

The FBI seized electronic data of a retired four-star general related to his role in a lobbying campaign on behalf of Qatar.

The feds are investigating former Marine Gen. John R. Allen for FARA violations and accused him of giving the FBI a “false version of events” about his work for Qatar.

In 2017, Allen was chosen to lead the Brookings Institution, a highly powerful think tank that was financially backed by Qatar for years.

According to AP, Allen failed to disclose “that he was simultaneously pursuing multimillion-dollar business deals with the government of Qatar.”

The AP reported:

The FBI has seized the electronic data of a retired four-star general who authorities say made false statements and withheld “incriminating” documents about his role in an illegal foreign lobbying campaign on behalf of the wealthy Persian Gulf nation of Qatar.

It’s part of an expanding investigation that has ensnared Richard G. Olson, a former ambassador to the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan who pleaded guilty to federal charges last week, and Imaad Zuberi, a prolific political donor now serving a 12-year prison sentence on corruption charges.

The court filings detail Allen’s behind-the scenes efforts to help Qatar influence U.S. policy in 2017 when a diplomatic crisis erupted between the gas-rich Persian Gulf monarchy and its neighbors.

“There is substantial evidence that these FARA violations were willful,” FBI agent Babak Adib wrote in a search warrant application, referring to the Foreign Agents Registration Act.

Soros-Backed Investors Buy Dozens of Spanish Language Radio Stations

A group led by former Obama staffer Stephanie Valencia claims the move will help to combat "disinformation"

A group of Hispanic investors with backing from leftist billionaire George Soros have purchased 18 radio stations across 10 cities. The deal was worth roughly $60 million.

The group was founded by former Obama staffer Stephanie Valencia and campaign veteran Jess Morales Rocketto, who worked for both former President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Acquired stations will now form the Latino Media Network (LMN) and will be led by Valencia. LMN stated it has secured financing from “leading Latino investors” as well as Lakestar Finance, an investment group associated with George Soros.

Now, after securing more than $80 million in funding, the project is set to launch.

“We believe in the power and reach of radio and it remains a main source of media for a significant number of our community,” Rocketto told NBC News. “We hope to create relevant content for radio and other audio platforms with content that our community can trust and rely on.”

One of the stations included in the deal is Radio Mambi, a conservative talk radio station in Miami, Florida, that Democrats have long accused of spreading “misinformation” among Hispanic communities, according to The Washington Examiner. Radio Mambi has long been known as a staunch anti-communist network, particularly among Cuban exiles.

The newly Soros-acquired AM and FM radio stations are located in 10 of the country’s largest Latino markets, including Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, Houston and Las Vegas.

“Latinos are constantly trying to navigate the ocean of information. In some cases that is disinformation, in some cases that is very one-sided communication,” Stephanie Valencia said in a statement.

The sales must still meet Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approval before LMN can fully operate the stations. That process could last well into 2023, Florida’s WLRN reported.

NIH Erased Webpage Details Monkeypox Vaccine ‘Bioterror’ Research Praised By Anthony Fauci.

The deleted webpage detailed a study on a "mild, experimental smallpox vaccine known as modified vaccinia Ankara (MVA)" and how it is "nearly as effective as the standard smallpox vaccine in protecting monkeys against monkeypox."

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) deleted a webpage from 2004 detailing research into vaccine efficacy against the monkeypox virus which included Anthony Fauci praising the findings as “important” and referencing a potential “bioterror threat involving smallpox.”

The webpage can be accessed through an archived version of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) website, which reveals a press release from March 10th, 2004: “Effectiveness of Safer Smallpox Vaccine Demonstrated Against Monkeypox.”

When accessed, the link currently prompts users with the message “the page you’re looking for isn’t available.”

The unearthed webpage comes amidst an ongoing global outbreak of monkeypox cases, already causing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to recommend masks during travel.

The deleted webpage detailed a study on a “mild, experimental smallpox vaccine known as modified vaccinia Ankara (MVA)” and how it is “nearly as effective as the standard smallpox vaccine in protecting monkeys against monkeypox.” Monkeypox was the pathogen of choice for the study “because of its similarity to the smallpox virus,” explained the NIH press release.

The study was conducted by researchers from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), the NIH agency led by Fauci. This agency has previously come under scrutiny for funding bat coronavirus research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which many public health experts and intelligence officials believe to be the source of COVID-19.

“These findings are important to the search for a replacement vaccine for people with health conditions that would prevent them from using the current smallpox vaccine,” said Fauci in response to the study, which reportedly found that an MVA injection in conjunction with a Dryvax injection yielded better coverage than Dryvax alone.

CDC Changes Monkeypox Mask Recommendation Amid Criticism

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) this week changed its monkeypox travel alert web page that had recommended people wear masks while traveling.

Earlier this week, the CDC’s monkeypox page had said, “Wear a mask. Wearing a mask can help protect you from many diseases, including monkeypox,” according to a cached version of the page. But as of Tuesday morning, that guidance was gone.

A spokesperson for the CDC told The Epoch Times on Wednesday that on Monday night, the agency removed the “mask recommendation from the monkeypox Travel Health Notice because it caused confusion,” without elaborating.

“In countries where there is a current monkeypox outbreak, CDC continues to recommend masking in high-risk situations including for household contacts and healthcare workers, or for other people who may be in close contact with a person who has been confirmed with monkeypox,” the spokesperson continued.

It came as some social media users made note of the mask requirement over the past weekend. Health experts have said that the virus isn’t as contagious as COVID-19.

On the same page, the CDC raised the travel alert to “Level 2” earlier this week. However, the agency said that the risk posed by monkeypox, which is generally endemic to about a dozen African countries, remains low.

Recommended precautions travelers should take include avoiding contact with sick people and avoiding contact with clothing, bedding, or other material that has been contaminated or used by those individuals. The agency also advised people not to come into contact with wild animals and avoid preparing or eating their meat, known as bush meat.

In another update, the agency said that more than 1,088 people have contracted monkeypox in recent days around the world, and about 35 cases have been reported across 14 states and Washington, D.C. It’s not clear if there have been any deaths associated with the virus, which is related to smallpox.

Cases are mainly concentrated in the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, Germany, and several other European nations. But there have been reports of monkeypox in Mexico, Israel, Australia, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates.

Internal Capitol Police review found sweeping intelligence, security failures on Pelosi's watch

Secret after-action report cited widespread ineptitude and inadequate riot squads, found closing of open-source intelligence unit may have contributed to tragedy.

Capitol Police compiled a secret after-action review months after the Jan. 6 riots that identified sweeping blunders by the department ranging from delayed deployment of specialized civil disturbance units to the fateful dismantling of an intelligence unit that monitored social media for threats.

Identifying 53 areas of failure needing corrective action, the June 4, 2021 report, obtained by Just the News, produces a far more stark portrait of leadership failures than those offered by Democrat-led investigations, making abundantly clear that the Capitol Police under House Speaker Nancy Pelosi were ill-equipped to defend one of America's most symbolic and high-value institutions two decades after the Sept. 11 attacks.

Specifically, the report stated that some Capitol Police leaders had received intelligence from outside sources like the FBI warning of the strong potential for violence, including the targeting of lawmakers, on the day Congress certified the 2020 election, but those warnings were not properly distilled into the operational plan given to front-line commanders or highlighted in the summary section known as the "Bottom Line Up Front."

"The assessment for 1/6 contained a BLUF that did not express the severity of the threat or the fact that USCP actually had knowledge of a plan in place," according to the report. "The statement that protesters may be armed was included, but it was never expressed with the urgency that they planned to overtake the Capitol and target Members of Congress."

Instead of clear warnings to its forces, Capitol Police leaders put "a generic, all-encompassing quote" in the operational plan that was too vague to convey the true threat level, the report said.

That intelligence failure was exacerbated, the review concluded, when new department leadership installed after Pelosi became Speaker decided to dismantle the department's open-source intelligence unit that scanned for threats on social media.

The lost window into the overt discussion of violence on social media prior to Jan. 6 may have contributed to the tragedy by further blinding commanders and officers to the potential for serious violence, the report.

"Individuals with the most experience extrapolating open-source material were not tasked with reviewing social media to glean intel related to the event," the report stated.

So, “nobody is suggesting” medically extracting cerebrospinal fluid from babies/children and injecting it into old (presumably well-paying) clients… except that’s precisely what they’re studying the feasibility of doing.

American senator calls for creation of Pacific NATO

The U.S. should push back against China’s efforts to expand its sphere of influence by creating a “Pacific NATO,” a senator has proposed.

Sen. Ben Sasse, a Republican from Nebraska known as a prominent critic of Donald Trump, blasted both the former president and the current Joe Biden administration as “weak isolationists” in a speech last week.

America, he argued, should play a decisive role on the global stage and ensure it remains a superpower in 2030.

“Let’s build a NATO for the Pacific,” Sasse said in his address at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California last Thursday….

Sasse hailed the Atlantic military alliance’s achievements through the Cold War to the present day. “NATO in Europe has been the greatest treaty organization in history. It held the line against the Soviets, and it’s now holding the line against bloody [Vladimir] Putin,” he said. “But as Chairman Xi [Jinping] looks to expand his sphere of influence, we need a new military alliance centered far out into the Pacific.”

Sasse was one of seven Republicans who crossed party lines to vote for convicting Trump during his second impeachment trial of February 2021. In last week’s speech, he also proposed expanding the U.S. defense budget to $1 trillion, up from the $773 billion request for fiscal 2023, and advocated making America’s security guarantee to Taiwan explicit.

“No more strategic ambiguity,” he said.

Sasse noted that military partnerships need to be paired with economic ones as well. “Pacific NATO should be a free trade zone, too. Trade is a win-win because when Americans compete, we win.”

“We need an Asian NATO,” Chuck Todd, host of Meet the Press, said in conclusion. “It’s pretty clear we need one.”

Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill, a Democrat from New Jersey and a blue team member in the war game, agreed that there is an opportunity to reach out to allies to strengthen ties.

“…I’m wondering now, as we look at what’s just happened with Ukraine, if some of our allies in the region are more willing to form a stronger partnership with each other and with the United States to ensure that they don’t face some of these threats,” the former Navy helicopter pilot said.

Mexican President Calls for American Superstate, Open Borders

Mexico’s president is reviving calls for a continental superstate that would combine North American employers and South American employees – and sideline tens of millions of middle-class Americans.

“I will go in July to visit [President Joe Biden] at the White House and I want to discuss with him the issue of the integration of all America,” President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said at a press conference in Mexico’s presidential palace. He continued: “My position is that, just as how the European community was created … we have to do that in America.”

However, any unification could only come after the United States and southern countries resolve their disagreements, he said: “There has to be a change in the policy, an end to confrontation, an end to hate, an end to threats, the blockades, the foreign interference, and choose brotherhood, good neighbor policies.”

The same continent-wide superstate was pushed in 2001 by President G.W. Bush and Mexico’s then-president, Vicente Fox. Their unpopular “Any Willing Worker” plan would have allowed U.S. employers to easily import low-wage employees from central and south America. It was derailed following the 9/11 attack.

The policy would spike Wall Street and Fortune 500 profits by giving them floods of cheap foreign workers plus many new foreign consumers.

López Obrador’s statement cane during a long complaint about U.S. politics, and the supposed power of the anti-Latino Cuban voters in the United States:

I have a very good relationship with President Biden, he is a good man. In this case, I feel that there are a lot of pressures on the part of the Republicans and above all from some leaders of the Republican Party and also in the Democrat Party that has to do with the Cuban community in Florida and in the United States.

Of course, the most inhuman, anti-immigrant, authoritarian [politicians] are the Republicans. But there are also those in the Democratic Party too … [For example, Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J.] he is from the Cuban community — and this one has enormous influence.

López Obrador’s push is tied to long-standing dreams by South American elites for their own southern-hemisphere superstate. The idea was pushed by Simon Bolivar (1783-1830) in the early 1800s but failed because of the distance and diversity of South America.

López Obrador continued:

Why not bring to [reality] the dream of Bolivar, including the United States and Canada? It is good for us based on our cultural relations, our friendship, but also because of economic and commercial relations. … We [

López Obrador and Biden] will talk about that. I also want to talk about Central America because it is not possible that we do not tend to the causes and [the U.S. tries] to resolve everything with coercive measures regarding immigration. And other issues that we could continue to work on together in the economic integration regarding our sovereignties, the ability to complement each other to face inflation.
