Carrie Severino: Merrick Garland Ignored Threats Against Brett Kavanaugh After Serving 10 Years Together as Federal Judges

Carrie Severino, president of the Judicial Crisis Network, said on Thursday that Attorney General Merrick Garland did little in his capacity as head of the U.S. Department of Justice to prosecute criminal threats against his former collegue, Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Garland was a federal judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit between 1997 and 2020, including seven years as the court’s chief judge. Kavanaugh served as a federal judge alongside Garland on the same court between 2006 and 2018.

“What’s so flabbergasting to me is that Merrick Garland was a federal judge,” Severino remarked on Friday’s edition of the Breitbart News Daily podcast with host Alex Marlow. “He served with Justice Kavanaugh for a decade. I don’t understand why we’ve seen in him — as attorney general — really just allowing the most radical liberal voices to just run ramshackle over all of what the Department of Justice’s real priorities ought to be.”

Federal officials charged Nicholas John Roske, a 26-year-old man from California, with attempted murder on Wednesday for allegedly seeking to assassinate Kavanaugh for political reasons, including the accused’s stated objection to a leaked draft opinion from the Supreme Court overruling Roe. v. Wade. Left-wing protesters remained outside of Kavanaugh’s home in Chevy Chase, MD, after Roske was arrested and charged.

Severino highlighted the Justice Department’s (DOJ) refusal to charge protesters outside of Kavanaugh’s home. Jonathan Turley, a law professor at Georgetown University, wrote that “such protests can be viewed as crimes” according to particular interpretations of 18 U.S.C. 1507, under which “it is a federal crime to protest near a residence occupied by a judge or jury with the intent to influence their decisions in pending cases, and this case remains pending.”

“I get that maybe they don’t want to make martyrs of these people in front of the justice’s home,” Severino speculated as to the rationale behind the DOJ’s refusal to prosecute protesters outside of Kavanaugh’s and other justices’ homes. “So I can see maybe this is part of the strategy.”

She concluded, “This is a serious issue, and by ignoring it this long, it’s just grown in magnitude. . … Merrick Garland is really the only person that has really actually condemned some of this, but even so, it’s been very, very slow in coming, and I think we haven’t seen actual action on the part of the Department of Justice to say, ‘Hey guys, you’re now on notice that we’ve let you walk around here, so far. We’re going to be starting to prosecute. So please leave, or we’re going to be arresting you.’ … It’s not just saying, ‘These laws are on the books,’ but, ‘We’re not going to enforce them.’ That is not a good way to go about law enforcement.”

Rand Paul Slams Dems, Media For "Ginning-Up Violent Crazy People" In Wake Of Kavanaugh Assassination Attempt

Senator Rand Paul reacted Wednesday to the arrest of an armed assassin outside the home of conservative Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, noting that the White House and Democrats have actively encouraged such ‘crazy people’ to go to the homes of Supreme Court justices.

Referring to his own brutal attack at the hands of a crazed leftist a few years ago, Paul said “As a victim of politically motivated violence I’m particularly sensitive to this. I’ve been speaking out since the beginning.”

The Senator referred to the encouragement by Democrats and the White House of protests outside the homes of justices, noting “I’ve been saying it is dangerous for our justices, we shouldn’t be allowing crowds to disrupt the public, to be there at nighttime making noise. They should be arrested for disorderly conduct and be removed.”

“The white house steadfastly refused to condemn people outside of their houses,” Paul reiterated, adding “That is not peaceful protest. That is ginning up and encouraging, and intimidating the justices should not be allowed.”

“The Biden administration refused to have a full-throated condemnation of people gathering outside of justice houses,” Paul urged.

The Senator also hit out at the media, and so called ‘protesters’, noting that doxxing has to be punished.

“The concern is releasing justice’s addresses. Other networks put my address on the evening news,” Paul said, adding “They put global satellite pictures of my house on the evening news… encouraging crazy people. It has got to stop. We have to quit doing this to our justices. We should quit doing it to the elected officials as well.”

“We can have a civil discourse in this country but the people who are ginning up, encouraging people to be in front of a justice’s house, it’s wrong, it’s dangerous, and it will set up the milieu, the environment for violence,” Paul further warned.

Caitlin Long’s Bitcoin Bank Custodia Is Suing The Federal Reserve

Custodia’s lawsuit states “unlawful” delays in the bank’s approval process to gain a master account with the Federal Reserve which would lessen cost and risks.

“For more than 19 months, Defendants [The Federal Reserve] have refused to act upon Custodia’s application for a master account with the Federal Reserve,” states the lawsuit.

On October 28, 2020 the Wyoming-chartered bank was successfully approved as a special purpose depository institution (SPDI), which means it can serve both traditional banking services and bitcoin transactions. The next day, Custodia simultaneously submitted its master account application.

“The delay also breaches the schedule contained on the master account paperwork itself, which provides that a master account decision ordinarily takes “5 – 7 business days,” the lawsuit continues.

In early 2021, the lawsuit states a representative from the Kansas City Fed informed Custodia that there were “no showstoppers,” in the application, which was confirmed to be complete.

The charter obtained through Wyoming was great news as Custodia became the second crypto-bank in the U.S. behind Kraken, but in order for Custodia to reach the federal level on its own, it is required to go through the Fed.

Currently, Custodia has to endure higher costs, counterparty and settlement credit risks and claims it is losing its competitive advantage by being forced into partnership with an institution that does currently hold a master account.

"Through this lawsuit, Custodia seeks to ensure that its Federal Reserve master account application receives the fair dealing and due process guaranteed to it by both federal statute and the U.S. Constitution,” Custodia Bank’s spokesperson Nathan Miller reportedly stated.

Miller continued to say “Custodia has satisfied every rule applicable to it, and has gone beyond by applying to become a Fed member bank."

Custodia was founded by former Morgan Stanley alumni Caitlin Long under the name Avanti Financial Group in 2020. Long helped write some of the legislation used to regulate these financial service entities entering the bitcoin and broader cryptocurrency space for the state of Wyoming.

Pentagon divulges number of US-funded biolabs in Ukraine

US insists 46 “peaceful” facilities were all about public health and safety

https://www.defense.gov/News/Releases/Release/Article/3057517/fact-sheet-on-wmd-threat-reduction-efforts-with-ukraine-russia-and-other-former/

The US government has supported 46 facilities in Ukraine over the past 20 years, but as part of a peaceful public health project rather than to develop biological weapons, the Pentagon said on Thursday. The US military accused Russia and China of “spreading disinformation and sowing mistrust” about its efforts to rid the world of weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

This is the first time the US Department of Defense disclosed the exact number of facilities its government has supported in Ukraine, in a document titled ‘Fact Sheet on WMD Threat Reduction Efforts.’

According to the Pentagon, the US has “worked collaboratively to improve Ukraine’s biological safety, security, and disease surveillance for both human and animal health,” by providing support to “46 peaceful Ukrainian laboratories, health facilities, and disease diagnostic sites over the last two decades.” These programs have focused on “improving public health and agricultural safety measures at the nexus of nonproliferation.”

The work of these biolabs was “often” conducted in partnership with bodies like the World Health Organization (WHO) and World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), and was “consistent with international best practices and norms in publishing research results, partnering with international colleagues and multilateral organizations, and widely distributing their research and public health findings,” the Pentagon insisted.

Former altar boy who was sexually abused by a Victorian priest has been awarded almost $2million

A former altar boy who was sexually abused by a priest has been awarded $2m

Victorian priest Desmond Gannon abused the victim three times in 1968 & 1970

The abuse survivor claimed the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne was liable

The victim contemplated suicide and abused alcohol as a way to numb his pain

A former altar boy sexually abused by Victorian priest Desmond Gannon has been awarded nearly $2 million in damages in a civil case against Melbourne's archbishop.

The sex abuse survivor, who cannot be named for legal reasons, brought the case against Peter Comensoli, claiming the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne was vicariously liable for his abuse.

The victim said he felt like he was dead after Gannon first assaulted him - that the priest had murdered him and the little boy he used to be was gone forever.

He later contemplated suicide and abused alcohol as a way to numb his pain.

Gannon assaulted the victim on three occasions between 1968 and 1970 while the child was an altar boy and a pupil at a Catholic primary school in regional Victoria.

The former priest was sentenced for those crimes in 2009.

On one occasion, Gannon drove the boy down dirt roads out to a remote area, where he molested and raped him. At the time the boy was terrified Gannon would get a shovel, kill him and bury him.

The boy bled from the attack, and tried to hide it from his family in the following days.

On another occasion, Gannon's abuse only stopped when he was interrupted by another altar boy arriving at church.

The victim managed to escape Gannon's grasp on a third occasion when he lured him into a pump house with the promise of a cigarette.

Part of the victim's claim was that, in about 1960, Gannon sexually abused another young Catholic boy.

Part 1 – Was January 6th violence A Ukrainian Military Special Operation To destroy Donald Trump?

That question by itself is a mouthful considering the political climate in 2022. Given the secretive nature of a “military spec op” and the degree of difficulty investigating the kind of action where all traces need to point away from the actors, I need to disclose how I got to the place where this question became the only obvious one I can ask.

The following will show circumstantially and logically why this wrinkle in the J6 investigation deserves qualified eyes on it to further and finish or put it to bed once and for all.

If you’ve followed the J6 investigation at all you’re familiar with this image. XRVision’s report on Sergei Dybynyn went viral across media. Directly after the event, I was contacted by XRVison’s CEO Jacob Applebaum to confirm the ID and build Dybynyn’s profile which is all the information known about this man and his motivation at Capitol Hill on January 6th.

As an investigative journalist, it’s not out of the ordinary to be contacted like this. I’ve been contacted on an irregular basis for different types of issues over the years by attorneys, private concerns, groups, companies, and security experts over the years on issues ranging from personal safety to national and international issues.

The single most important point across the board is understanding the limits of the work. There’s a line between investigative journalism or reports, and official criminal investigations.

Crossing that line as a journo could corrupt a criminal investigation. The most obvious way is allowing perps to clean up before criminal investigators have a chance to look at it.

The above lead-in is meant to show how seriously I take these threads of investigation.

Disney CEO Bob Chapek fires content chief Peter Rice in shock move after industry speculation the exec was gunning to replace his embattled boss

Disney CEO Bob Chapek fired top exec Peter Rice in surprise move on Thursday

Rice, Disney's chief content officer, was widely seen as Chapek's No. 2

But insiders say that Rice had been angling to replace the embattled CEO

Hours after Rice's ouster, Disney's board issued a statement backing Chapek

It is the board's first public show of support since Chapek took over last year

Exec Dana Walden will replace Rice and report directly to Chapek in the new role

Walt Disney CEO Bob Chapek has fired his top lieutenant Peter Rice in a surprise move that follows industry speculation that he was angling to replace his embattled boss.

Rice, who was Disney's top executive on television content and who signed a three-year contract six months ago, was fired in a brief meeting this week with Chapek, who told him he was a bad fit with the company's corporate culture, according to the New York Times.

British-born Rice, 56, was one of just four Disney execs who reported directly to Chapek, and joined the company in 2019 with the company's acquisition of 21st Century Fox, where he had risen through the ranks to become president.

Sources who spoke with Reuters said Rice had clashed with Disney's senior leadership, and that his departure was, according to one, 'a long time coming.'

Industry insiders told the Hollywood Reporter that Rice was perceived as gunning to replace Chapek, who finally took full control of the company from Bob Iger at the end of last year, following an extended and tumultuous transition.

Since Chapek took over, Disney's stock has plunged by 33 percent, and the company has engaged in messy public battles with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who slammed Disney as 'woke' for opposing the state's so-called 'Don't Say Gay' law.
