Missing Florida Dog Found After 'Giant' Pet Turns Up at a Dollar General Store

According to a June 9 Facebook post from Florida's Bradenton Police Department, Bentley, a 135-lb. dog, managed to break a gate at his home and wander off to a Dollar General store a few blocks away.

Bradenton police officers received a call about the canine after the pet remained inside the Dollar General for "a couple of hours."

"Earlier this week, Bradenton Police Officers responded to a call from the Dollar General on Manatee Ave. W. in reference to a giant dog that wouldn't leave - and they really needed to close the store. 135 lb. Bentley broke through a gate and walked a few blocks to the store, where he spent a couple of hours browsing. Clerks went about their business until they really needed to lock up!" the police department wrote on Facebook alongside a video of officers picking up the dog from the store.

The video the Bradenton Police Department shared shows Bentley contentedly roaming around the store and approaching the police offers with a wagging tail. At the end of the clip, Bentley's relieved owner arrives and picks up the pooch.

"Bentley's Dad realized he was missing and was grateful that the store, and officers, looked after him," the police department added on Facebook.

Bentley is not the first canine to get comfortable at a Dollar General. In May 2021, a stray dog pawed into a North Carolina Dollar General and tried to take a unicorn stuffed animal. After the canine attempted to shoplift the plush several times, employees called Duplin County Animal Services for assistance.

Animal control officers arrived, bought the canine his coveted unicorn toy, and took him to a local shelter. The dog, now named Sisu, was later transferred to Lab Rescue LRCP for training before heading to a forever home.

Martha’s Vineyard club guilty of involuntary manslaughter in boy’s drowning

EDGARTOWN — On the morning of July 26 last year, Ellie Backer drove her 3-year-old son, Henry, to The Boathouse & Field Club – an exclusive Martha’s Vineyard tennis and pool club — for a morning of activities and swimming with other children. She had applied sunblock to Henry’s arms and made sure to clip his floaties to the outside of his bag, where they would be visible to the club’s counselors, she recalled in a video statement played in court Friday.

A few hours later, her husband, Stephen, received a call from the club: There had been an incident with their son. The parents rushed to the club, but there was nothing to be done. Henry had already drowned in the club’s pool, prosecutors said.

At the hearing at Dukes County Superior Court, The Field Club’s general manager pleaded guilty on the club’s behalf to a charge of involuntary manslaughter in Henry Backer’s death. The plea comes after the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office determined that the actions of the club and its employees — who left him in a pool with no adult specifically charged with watching him — were so negligent and reckless that they were criminal.

“This is not the story of a tragic accident,” Stephen Backer said in the video impact statement. “This is the story of a crime.”

David Meier, a lawyer representing the Backer family at the hearing, said, “From day one, the priority for Henry’s parents and family has been about the truth, about transparency, and about accountability.” (Ellie and Stephen Backer did not attend the hearing.)

Idaho stepmom gets life sentence for killing 9-year-old boy

A 29-year-old Idaho woman convicted of torturing and killing her 9-year-old stepson has been sentenced to life in prison without parole

BOISE, Idaho – A 29-year-old Idaho woman convicted of torturing and killing her 9-year-old stepson has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Monique Osuna received the sentence Thursday in Fourth District Court.

KTVB-TV reports that Osuna previously pleaded guilty to murdering Emrik Osuna in a deal that eliminated the death penalty. Erik Osuna, the boy’s biological father, has also pleaded guilty to murder and is scheduled to be sentenced June 27.

Emrik was sent to live with his father and stepmother in February 2018 after his biological mother went to prison for abusing his young siblings.

“A small child was sent to Idaho to be cared for by the defendants. Instead he was sent to a living hell,” Ada County Prosecutor John Dinger told Judge Steven Hippler during the sentencing hearing.

Videos from nanny cameras throughout the home during August 2020 show Erik and Osuna abusing Emrik, who is forced to exercise for hours and becomes malnourished. Footage also shows Monique kicking Emrik and hitting him with various objects as the boy shrieks and cowers.

The couple had installed the cameras to record Emrik’s behavior because a friend told them Emrik might have reactive attachment disorder — a condition caused by neglect or abuse — and suggested the cameras to record his behavior to show to medical professionals. Erik Osuna had a friend remove the cameras before authorities arrived, but they were recovered by police and contained about two weeks of footage leading up to Emrik’s death.

Monique was arrested in September 2020 after paramedics found Emrik emaciated and unconscious in her Meridian apartment. Emrik died shortly after at St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital in Boise.

Anyone remember that Hippie girl that was raped and murdered in that Hippie enclave located in India.

Her autopsy photos were in Wikileaks, in addition to Indian Domino's Pizza Flyers that had pedo symbols on it?
