KEATING DENIES 'ARSE END' REMARK

By PETER GILL

Jun 24, 1994 – 10.00am

THE Prime Ministerial vision of a proudly independent Australia making its own way in the world has been threatened by claims from his predecessor that Mr Keating described Australia as the "arse end of the world".

The acrimony of the 1991 leadership challenge resurfaced yesterday with Mr Keating denying the claim by Mr Bob Hawke that he disparaged Australia in an argument over the Labor leadership.

The public debate between present and former prime ministers was played out on the nation's airwaves yesterday and threatens to become a political brushfire for the Government.

Mr Keating "explicitly and categorically denied" a television report that he would leave Australia if he did not secure the prime ministership because"this is the arse end of the world".

"The allegation is deeply offensive and defamatory. It isclearly intended to personally vilify and politically damage me," Mr Keating said last night.

"People can choose to believe the record, and what is on the record - the real, tangible testaments of my affection for Australia and devotion to its interests - or they can believe Mr Hawke's alleged fragment of a private conversation," he said.

Earlier yesterday, Mr Keating said he could not remember making the comment to Mr Hawke and suggested he had often made the point that Australia was a long way from everywhere.

But Mr Hawke responded that his memoirs - in which the alleged conversation will appear - "doesn't sustain the proposition" that the comment was made in any geographical context. A spokesman for the Prime Minister said Mr Keating and Mr Hawke had different recollections of the event in question and added that it would "come down to a historical debate".

The Leader of the Opposition, Mr Downer, said that "if it is true that Mr Keating has described my country in that way, then I feel very sad about it, because I think I can speak for 17 million Australians and say that we love our country".

Meanwhile, amid rowdy scenes in the Senate, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Senator Evans - in a direct attack on Mr Downer's British wife - said the Prime Minister and his family did not have to be "pushed" into becoming Australian citizens.

Mr Downer said the "unprovoked attack" on his wife "marks a new low-point in national politics".

Senator Evans responded with an apology to Mrs Downer but said the low-point in recent politics was the Opposition's "grotesque and utterly groundless attack on the character and reputation of (former senator) Graham Richardson".

Australian P.M. under fire for rude remark

SYDNEY, June 23 – Australia's Prime Minister Paul Keating Thursday was under fire for allegedly describing his nation as 'the arse-end of the Earth.'

'How can the prime minister continue to represent himself to the Australian people as the man who puts Australia first when he thinks so little of his fellow countrymen,' Opposition Senate Leader Robert Hill told the Senate.

Former Prime Minister Bob Hawke claims in his autobiography, due to be published next month, that Keating called Australia 'the arse-end of the world.'

Keating is considered to have played a key role in Hawke's political demise in 1991.

Opposition members jumped to the attack Thursday, saying the remark demonstrated Keating's disrespect for his country.

Keating said that while he did not recall making the commment, if he did indeed make it, he was probably referring to Australia's geographical location.

He said that when he was federal treasurer under Hawke he had stressed to him and the Cabinet that if Australia wanted to attract trade from northern regions it would have to be better than anyone else because of its remoteness from these markets.

But Hawke refused to let his former ally off the hook, saying this would not be a 'reasonable explanation' for the remark.

Hawke refused to give further details and said people would have to wait until his book is published next month.

He denied he had told friends that the allegations in his book would 'destroy' Keating politically.

During question time in the senate Thursday, Hill claimed Keating had planned to buy a villa in Switzerland and move there had he lost the last federal elections.

He also recalled that Keating once said 'the best way to see (the Northern Territory capital,) Darwin is at 35,000 feet, on the way to Paris.'

You cant rise to any level without going along with the evil agenda.

It is all here, prolific writer and targeted fighter.

Kangaroo Court of Australia is focused on investigating and reporting political corruption, judicial corruption and the associated police corruption.

Below is an example of the stories I report. It was published on the 30th of July 2021 and is titled “Christian Porter v ABC judgment report by “News Publisher” Shane Dowling”.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison confirms judicial paedophile protection racket with 28% not going to jail

By Shane Dowling on September 24, 2019 • ( 7 Comments )

Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced on the 3rd of September that 28% of paedophiles convicted of federal laws do not go to jail so the government is introducing mandatory sentencing laws. The minimum inference that can be drawn is that Australian judges and magistrates are running a paedophile protection racket.

If 28% of paedophiles convicted of federal laws aren’t going to jail what is the real number of paedophiles that are knowingly being let off in Australia when state laws are added? 40%? 50%?

The judges that let paedophiles off are deliberately and knowingly breaking the law as they know they should be sending the paedophiles to jail. So why aren’t the judges sending the paedophiles to jail? Without a doubt, some judges are paedophiles themselves and some would be taking bribes. Whatever the case it needs investigating by authorities in a major way and this website has been shining a light on the issue for a long time.

The government press release is in full below:

Mandatory jail sentences for child sex offenders

The Hon. Christian Porter MP

Attorney-General

Minister for Industrial Relations

Leader of the House

The Hon. Peter Dutton MP

Minister for Home Affairs

Paedophiles would face mandatory jail sentences and the most serious offenders could be jailed for life under sweeping changes to Federal sentencing laws to be introduced to Parliament next week.

The Crimes Legislation Amendment (Sexual Crimes Against Children and Community Protection Measures) Bill 2019 will also make it harder for serious offenders to get bail, while repeat offenders will have to stay in prison for longer.

The Bill reflects the Morrison Government’s commitment to keeping Australians safe and creates new offences to capture evolving forms of child exploitation such as being the administrator of a website that functions for the purpose of distributing child abuse material.

Attorney-General Christian Porter said 28 percent of child sex offenders convicted of federal offences in 2018-19 did not spend one day in jail – a statistic totally out of step with community expectations.

“It simply beggars belief that nearly a third of all child sex offenders who were sentenced last year were not required to spend a single day behind bars, despite the devastating and life-long impacts that their crimes have on their young victims and their families,” the Attorney-General said.

“And when jail terms were handed out, the average length of time that offenders spent in custody was just 18 months.
