Conservatives slam Fox News over transgender child segment: 'FOX is pro-mutilation'

Some called for everyone involved in the story to be fired.

Conservatives are criticizing Fox News for airing a segment in honor of Pride month about a biological girl who started identifying as a boy at 5-years-old.

"I have appeared on Fox News many times. I appreciate the platform they’ve given me. If what I’m about to say ruins that relationship, so be it," Daily Wire commentator Matt Walsh tweeted in response to the Fox video. "We have to call this evil lunacy out wherever we see it. Especially on our own side."

He focused on the fact that Ryland Wittington, now 14, has "a permanently altered body" and is "condemned to live forever with an identity imposed as a small child."

Walsh also called for everyone involved in the story to be immediately fired.

Daily Wire CEO and co-founder Jeremy Boreing made a similar comment criticizing the segment in a response to Bryan Llenas, the Fox correspondent who lauded the family for their "extraordinary courage." The reporter also thanked the family and said, "people are afraid of what they do not understand."

"You are almost certainly going to be fired today. Who else deserves to lose their job?" Boreing commented.

Former Trump assistant and ex-Fox News contributor Sebastian Gorka tweeted, "FOX is pro-mutilation of children."

"The video would be absolute despicable insane lunacy if I saw it on CNN or MSNBC," Ben Shapiro of the Daily Wire wrote in an op-ed. "To see it on Fox News is a complete betrayal of anything remotely resembling conservatism or decency."

Ukraine to decide how much territory it trades for peace – NATO

Alliance chief Jens Stoltenberg said that peace comes at a price, but insisted it’s up to Ukraine

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Sunday that the US-led alliance aims to strengthen Ukraine’s position at the negotiating table, but added that any peace deal would involve compromises, including of territory.

Stoltenberg spoke at the Kultaranta Talks in Finland, following a meeting with Finnish President Sauli Niinisto. While the NATO chief said that the West was willing to “pay a price” to strengthen the Ukrainian military, Kiev will have to make some territorial concessions to Moscow in order to end the current conflict.

“Peace is possible,” he said. “The only question is what price are you willing to pay for peace? How much territory, how much independence, how much sovereignty…are you willing to sacrifice for peace?”

Stoltenberg did not suggest what terms Ukraine should accept, saying that “it’s for those who are paying the highest price to make that judgment,” while NATO and the West continue supplying arms to the Ukrainians to “strengthen their hand” when a settlement is eventually negotiated.

The secretary general did not directly endorse the ceding of Ukrainian territory, but he did bring up the example of Finland, which gave up Karelia to the Soviet Union as part of a peace deal during the Second World War. Stoltenberg described the Finnish-Soviet settlement as “one of the reasons Finland was able to come out of the Second World War as an independent sovereign nation.”

Stoltenberg’s statement comes amid growing sentiment that Ukraine may soon be pressed into a peace deal by its Western backers. While US and British officials publicly insist that Ukraine “can win” its war with Russia, a recent CNN report suggests that officials in Washington, London and Brussels are meeting without their Ukrainian counterparts in an effort to plan a ceasefire and peace settlement.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has also claimed that unnamed foreign parties have been trying to “push us a little” toward a deal, as the public in countries backing Ukraine grows “war weary.”

French President Emmanuel Macron has publicly denied urging Zelensky to give up some territory in exchange for an end to hostilities, as former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger suggested last month he should do.

NYC: Accused Subway Slasher Was Released Hours Before Attacks Following Knife Dispute with Cops

32-year-old Donny Ubiera reportedly brandished a knife at police officers, but was released within a day

A Queens man was arrested over the weekend and has been accused of committing two unprovoked stabbing attacks in the span of 24 hours. The suspected NYC subway slasher brandished a knife at NYPD officers just hours before the attacks. Despite having 14 prior arrests, he was released after just one night, at which point he carried out the random attacks.

Donny Ubiera, 32, reportedly stabbed two NYC commuters in separate incidents on Friday and Saturday.

The Queens man is accused of first stabbing a 62-year-old man onboard a southbound 7 train around 8:30 a.m. Friday, according to NBC 4 New York. Police said the victim was slashed in the face and hand, requiring several stitches at the hospital.

Ubiera allegedly fled the Queensboro Plaza station and was captured on surveillance footage. Police later released an image of the suspect, who was wearing a black and gold button shirt with black shorts.

In the second attack, which occurred the following morning around 7:15 a.m., a commuter was stabbed in the neck with a large knife. The victim, who was attacked on a subway platform, was rushed to an area hospital. The victim’s condition has been listed as “critical.”

Police later arrested Ubiera late Saturday night near Flushing. The 32-year-old will be facing charges of attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Trump Disappoints MAGA Base, Endorses Britt Over Brooks in Alabama Run-off

Donald Trump sides with establishment candidate over MAGA ally Mo Brooks over what seems to be a personal grievance about the 2020 election

Former President Donald Trump has made an unexpected endorsement in the upcoming run-off election for the GOP nomination for Senate in Alabama. Katie Britt, who won nearly 50% of the vote in the recent primary, received the coveted endorsement of the former president. Her challenger, Mo Brooks, previously had the support of the 45th President, who later pulled his endorsement.

The endorsement of Britt is a rather curious one to many of Trump’s most fervent supporters. Brooks is more closely aligned with the populist “MAGA” agenda than is Britt, who also has support from Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and is also tied to several “Never Trumpers.”

Liz Cheney Uses January 6 Committee for Political Retaliation, Subpoenas Primary Opponent’s Campaign Adviser

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) appears to have used the January 6 committee as a political weapon against her primary opponent.

It is no secret that Liz Cheney’s political career as an establishment Republican took a nosedive into oblivion when she sided with the Democrats in their January 6 witch hunt. Since then, her primary opponent, Harriet Hageman, has been trouncing Cheney in the polls and now leads by a whopping 30 points. After a dismal first hearing for the January 6 committee that pulled in just 19 million viewers across the United States, Liz Cheney has now subpoenaed former Donald Trump campaign manager William Stepien, who also just so happens to be Hageman’s campaign adviser.

According to the Hill, Stepien appeared before the committee last November and was a primary mover in former President Trump’s “Stop the Steal” campaign:

Stepien reportedly “supervised the conversion” within Trump’s campaign around “Stop the Steal” messaging and associated fundraising, the committee said at the time of his subpoena.

That messaging “included the promotion of certain false claims related to voting machines despite an internal campaign memo in which campaign staff determined such claims were false,” the committee added.

Former President Trump held a rally for Hageman in late May where he referred to Cheney as a “backstabbing” RINO.

“Worse than the terrible Democrats are the backstabbing RINO Republicans that are helping them do their act,” Trump said. “And there is no RINO in America who has thrown in her lot with the radical left more than Liz Cheney.”

Trump further described Cheney as a “lapdog for Pelosi and a human soundbite machine for CNN and MSDNC.”

“She has gone crazy,” the former president said. “Now I get it. I’ve been hearing these stories for years. Now I get it. She’s gone totally crazy.”

Unless Liz Cheney and the committee unveil a bombshell surprise during the next hearing, it is unlikely the Stepien subpoena will have any effect on her primary campaign against Hageman, given that few Americans are tuning in for the broadcast. Some Democrats in vulnerable districts have expressed skepticism behind closed doors, according to a recent report from Axios.

“I think they’re incredibly important, but I wouldn’t call them pivotal to the election,” Rep. Susan Wild (D-PA) said of the hearings.

One anonymous Democrat in a swing district simply said, “No,” when asked if January 6 should be an election issue, although the Democrat hoped the hearings would provide “a lot of powerful information” or a “holy shit” moment.

Wellington: Violent threats aimed at New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern requiring police involvement have almost tripled since 2019.

An official information request, reported by Newshub, has revealed police dealt with 50 threats targeting Ardern in 2021, up from 18 in 2019.

The data showed anti-COVID-19 vaccine or anti-mandate sentiment was behind many of the threats.

Gun law reform in the wake of the 2019 Christchurch Mosques terror attack was another driver.

“My job is to make tough calls that not everyone likes,” Ardern told the television show AM.

“Now that - never ever - is a reason for anyone in any leadership position to face threats and I don’t want to trivialise it by saying it comes with the job. But unfortunately, in recent times, that’s increasingly been the case.

“Does it change what I do or how I do it? No.”

New Zealand media outlets have reported an increase in protection afforded to the prime minister and her office to deal with the increase in threats.

In February, anti-vaccine protesters staged a three-week occupation of the lawns and streets outside parliament house in Wellington, with Ardern as a unifying hate figure.

Protesters carried signs comparing her to Adolf Hitler, called on government leaders and journalists to be tried and hung, and at one point attempted to surge and enter parliament.

Police tolerated the protest for 24 days until clearing the scene in an ugly and violent end to the occupation, with protesters setting fire to tents and structures as they were moved on.
