I dunno about that. Sometime ago I experimented - wiped my cookies, changed my vpn IP, came back on, and it still let me post without captchaing. Hence I suspect it uses your MAC address to id you.
I'm ethernet hard wired, no WIFI. But will try by shutting down, disconnect/reconnect router, reboot, then try to post.
