At least a dozen former employees, including many longtime staff and senior managers, are suing Ontario transit authority Metrolinx for a combined $2.09 million after being treated with “callous disregard” for refusing the COVID-19 vaccine.

The workers filed lawsuits against Metrolinx in December for wrongful dismissal after the company put them on unpaid leave for refusing to comply with mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations, as reported by the Toronto Star.

“Metrolinx had been allowing people to work from home since March 2020, and all of a sudden my clients are no longer allowed to work at all because they did not agree to a vaccine policy that was never, ever required of them in their contracts,” said Stan Fainzilberg, a lawyer representing 10 of the former Metrolinx employees.

“That is, in our view, a very clear breach of contract,” he added. Continue…

Canadian journalism is in an extremely concerning place right now. It isn’t just that progressively-inclined academics and their friends are prominent in the media landscape, although that is clearly true. There is something more insidious at play causing the news to… well… no longer be news.

Everyone has their biases, make no mistake, and people tend to align themselves with media that more closely aligns with their values. But what happens when the biases of all media outlets are no longer their own, and rather those of an overreaching and ideologically controlling government that is willing to spend billions to manipulate what you read and see?

For a while, trusting the news as they always have, people bought in and believed what they saw, but eventually when the reports and reality don’t line up, people begin to ask questions. Some will inevitably carry on trusting and even trumpeting the mainstream media, but as we are seeing in Canada, legacy media that is no longer concerned with the truth loses viewership and becomes increasingly dependent on government funding to survive.

This downward spiral of abandoning journalistic integrity in pursuit of federal bail out bucks has two potential outcomes:

The death of legacy media.

Legacy media becoming de facto state broadcasters that no one watches.

Fortunately, the failing mainstream is no longer consumers' only option, and alternative and independent media primarily focused on reporting, rather than securing government paycheques, are on the rise. Understanding the Ukrainian SS Galicia Division Helps explain UK and Canadian support for Ukraine

If you want to understand why the UK and Canada are so hard over in their support for Ukraine, you have to look back to the end of World War II. Ukrainians were recruited and inducted into the Waffen-SS Division “Galicia”, which was formed by the Nazis in mid-1943 in World War II in order to support the failing regime of Adolf Hitler. The Ukrainian Central Committee supported this idea with enthusiasm despite the cost of collaboration with the totalitarian regime and its criminal nature.

Galicia’s governor-general, Otto Wachter, approached Himmler with a proposal to create a frontline combat division from Galician recruits. After speaking with Hitler, Himmler gave Wachter the go-ahead and ordered the creation of the 14th Waffen-SS Grenadier Division Galicia. Despite Himmler’s position as the head of the SS, he encountered opposition to the idea. Erich Koch, Karl Wolfe (Waffen-SS liaison officer on Hitler’s staff) and SS General Kurt Daleuge (Reich Protector of Bohemia and Moravia) believed that the weapons supplied to such a unit would be turned on the Germans. Himmler stood firm, though, and the Galicia division was established. He had two reasons for doing so: the loss of manpower after the defeat at Stalingrad meant the Reich desperately needed new formations; and he had a fear that disaffected Ukrainian youths would join the underground movement, i.e. the UPA.

I discussed this previously in my post, What Our Fathers Did–A NAZI Legacy in Ukraine. Otto von Wachter was the head Nazi governing Ukraine. His counterpart, Hans Frank, presided over Poland and set up the extermination camps that murdered at least 50% of the Jews exterminated during the Holocaust. Ukrainians, primarily from the the western part of current Ukraine, joined and formed a SS Division.

As early as July 1943, the Waffen-SS Division “Galicia” was sent to the front, where it was defeated at the battle of Brody; after that, a part of the division (survivors) was reformatted and sent to Slovakia, where the soldiers took part in hostilities against the participants of the Slovak uprising, as well as in Poland, against the Home Army. After another reformatting the unit found itself in Austria, now as the 1st Ukrainian Division of the Ukrainian National Army; it was there that the division soldiers laid down their arms in the Western occupation zone. Most of them lived abroad afterwards.

The 14th Waffen-SS Grenadier Division was formed in mid-1943 from 80,000 applicants. The best 13,000 were selected and the rest were used to form police regiments. From its inception, UPA members infiltrated the unit. Despite this, it was trained and equipped and passed out with a strength of 18,000 men. Like other Slav units, the division’s commander, SS-Brigadeführer Fritz Freitag, and his officers were all German. In June 1944, the division was part of Army Group North when it was committed to its first and only major battle – in the Brody-Tarnow Pocket – which almost destroyed it. Following this engagement, the division numbered only 3000 men. After a period of rest and refitting, the division participated in several half-hearted anti-partisan operations in Slovakia and Slovenia before surrendering in Austria in May 1945.

So, what happened to the survivors? The Pope intervened at the end of the war and ensured the remnants of the Ukrainian SS Division were not surrendered to the Russians. Almost 24 hours since the US Supreme Court’s decision on Roe v. Wade, Pope Francis has yet to release a statement. A Vatican Department did, however, praise the court.

Pope Francis remains silent on the ruling of the US Supreme Court yesterday that overturned Roe v. Wade and pushed abortion out of the courts and into the states. However, a department of the Vatican did release a statement.

The Pontifical Academy of Life said Friday that the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade “challenges the whole world.”

“The court’s opinion shows how the issue of abortion continues to arouse heated debate. The fact that a large country with a long democratic tradition has changed its position on this issue also challenges the whole world,” the Vatican academy wrote in a statement on June 24.

“The protection and defense of human life is not an issue that can remain confined to the exercise of individual rights, but instead is a matter of broad social significance. After 50 years, it is important to reopen a non-ideological debate on the place that the protection of life has in a civil society to ask ourselves what kind of coexistence and society we want to build,” it said.

The academy’s statement was the first official reaction to the court’s decision issued by an entity linked to the Roman Curia. Pope Francis has condemned abortion using strong language, referring to it as “murder” and on multiple occasions comparing the act of killing an unborn child to hiring a “hitman” to solve a problem.

Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, the president of the academy, said: “In the face of Western society that is losing its passion for life, this act is a powerful invitation to reflect together on the serious and urgent issue of human generativity and the conditions that make it possible.”

Many Democrats claim to be Catholics and have met Pope Francis.

Pope Francis has even called Joe Biden a good Catholic.

And yet, Biden and Pelosi are pro-abortionists. Maybe this is why the Pope remains silent on yesterday’s ruling.

Canada, like many other democratic countries, is held aloft among its citizenry as a source of pride. A beacon of freedom! A respecter of international law! Willing to carry its weight in repelling an evil force waging war and unspeakable terror on the world stage, as it supposedly did in World War I and World War II.

And typical Canadians will display their pride by waving the national flag, and turning up in massive numbers wearing the national maple leaf symbol, gathering for evening fireworks, and celebrating the anniversary marking their great nation’s creation – July 1, 1867.

As has been documented on this program a number of times, the image many Canadians have about Canada upholding justice on the world stage, being a champion of human rights, upholding democracy and so forth is considerably out of step with the reality of our foreign policy. And this is a phenomenon that has haunted us really since the confederation.

As our 155th birthday is arriving in a few short days, it is compelling to think of how the nostalgic fog surrounding us on that occasion blinds us and shields us from seeing darker moments illuminating its very existence. Domestic racism against Blacks, Asians and Indigenous people come to mind of course. But foreign policy, where we are less sure of the facts, incidents of shocking news about wars, trade, and other engagements really underscore the powerful people who are utilizing the influence of public gatherings, media and other tools to works the minds and hearts of decent people.

With Canada Day in the headlights, the Global Research News Hour will profile a bit about the misguided direction the general public in Canada has been driven to embrace and begin to formulate how this condition is conceivably rooted in the fraudulent maneuver that was the signing of the British North America Act.

Trudeau: Unvaccinated Accepted ‘Consequences’ Like Losing Jobs and Access To Travel

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau defended his use of the Emergencies Act on Freedom Convoy protestors and restrictions on the unvaccinated, saying unvaccinated Canadians accepted the consequences of not taking the vaccine.

Prime Minister Trudeau spoke about unvaccinated Canadians during an interview this week saying, “It was their choice and nobody ever was going to force anyone into doing something they don’t want to do.”

“But there are consequences when you don’t. You cannot choose to put at risk your co-workers. You cannot choose to put at risk the people sitting beside you on an aeroplane,” Trudeau told broadcaster CBC.

Trudeau has previously linked unvaccinated people to racism and misogyny while a guest on a French-speaking Quebec television programme last year.

“We all know people who are deciding whether or not they are willing to get vaccinated, and we will do our very best to try to convince them. However, there is still a part of the population (that) is fiercely against it,” Trudeau said and added, “They don’t believe in science/progress and are very often misogynistic and racist. It’s a very small group of people, but that doesn’t shy away from the fact that they take up some space.”

“This leads us, as a leader and as a country, to make a choice: Do we tolerate these people? ” he added.

Trudeau later referred to anti-vaccine mandate protestors in the trucker Freedom Convoy as a “small fringe minority” with “unacceptable views” before eventually invoking the Emergencies Act for the first time in Canadian history to dislodge the protestors from Ottawa.

In his interview with CBC, Trudeau defended the use of the Emergencies Act saying it did not violate free speech or peaceful assembly, claiming the Ottawa protest was an illegal occupation.

However, in recent weeks an inquiry into the use of the Emergencies Act has revealed that Safety Minister Marco Mendicino may have lied to parliament when he claimed law enforcement has requested the use of the Emergencies Act as law enforcement officials later stated they had not requested it.

Emergency Preparedness Minister Bill Blair and Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland later testified that no law enforcement agency had requested the act.

When confronted on the issue, Prime Minister Trudeau said, “We had a range of advice from Justice. From Public Safety. From various areas.”

“But if you think about the specific tools, one of the concrete complaints was tow truck drivers weren’t willing to send in their rigs at the cost of being outed or harassed by these protesters,” he said and added the need to get tow truck drivers to remove trucks from around the Canadian parliament building required the use of the Emergencies Act.
