A Senate bill that would have allowed Canadian Border Service Agency (CBSA) agents to examine the contents of traveller’s smartphones, laptops and other devices under the threshold of “reasonable general concern” has been voted down by the national security and defence committee.
Bill S-7 would have amended the Customs Act, lowering the circumstances under which CBSA officials could search personal digital devices.
According to Blacklock’s Reporter, senators on the committee passed an amendment proposed by Senator Mobina Jaffer to replace the proposed new standard with “reasonable grounds to suspect,” which would still make it easier to search travellers’ devices than it is now. Though, not as permissive as the standard proposed by the Public Safety Minister.
“We did not have one witness except the minister and the officials say that the new standard was a good idea,” said Jaffer Monday.
Senator Marc Gold, who represented the government in the Senate, opposed the amendment as well. Gold told the National Post that the bill doesn’t lower the standard, but is actually “creating a legal standard where one never existed before.” Continue…

Access to information documents obtained exclusively by Rebel News from Public Safety Canada paint a stark contrast with the narrative painted in the media by Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino of a violent and lawless occupation of truckers in the nation's capital in a protest against vaccine mandates.
“No violence took place in the national Capital region despite national protest for a wide variety of causes. Overall assessment: The majority of the event was peaceful. Since most government employees are working remotely, the disruption to government activities is so far minor,” the director-general in the government operation centre for Public Safety Canada wrote in a widely circulated February email.
February 1 emails from police in Ottawa to senior Public Safety officials noted that convoy organizers were encouraging participants to keep lanes of obstruction-free, clear vehicles out of residential areas, and be respectful of the police:
“Urges to keep patient work with law enforcement. No violence or threats of violence. Do not take anger out on police officers or fellow officers.”
Mendicino used lies and media compliance to justify the invocation of the Emergencies Act, which the Liberals would then use to violate the civil liberties of Canadians through asset freezes, arrests and banning of peaceful protests.

Scientist expresses grave concerns over post-COVID injection disruptions to women’s reproductive health.
It is becoming increasingly less taboo to discuss the post-COVID injection issues that women have been anecdotally sharing since the COVID biologics program rolled out in December 2020.
The previously disregarded claims appear to be increasingly backed by scientific evidence and study. As evidenced by The Testimonies Project, this phenomenon affects women post-injection regardless of race, age or geographic location.

Rose notes certain adverse events reports in the VAERS database have become so great that they are too computationally heavy to analyze.
Within the VAERS database, according to Roses' count, to date there have been 4,474 reports of spontaneous abortions (i.e. miscarriages) submitted post COVID injection. Rose speculates that there is an underreporting factor of approximately 31, so multiplying those reported events by 31 is likely to be a more true representation of the adverse events profile. Health Minister says two doses not enough, warns of ongoing booster shots

Even though the government announced they were suspending some vaccine mandates, Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos says they need to “transition” away from ‘fully vaccinated’ meaning two doses, suggesting ongoing booster requirements in the future.
“What we also know from Dr. Tam and every other expert on COVID-19 is that two doses still protects significantly well against severe disease and death. [But] two doses are not enough now to protect against infection and transmission,” Duclos said during today’s press conference.
“And that is why we are transitioning now to an up-to-date vaccination definition of what it means to be adequately protected against COVID-19. Fully protected with two doses doesn’t work anymore.”
Following this announcement, the question, then, is what purpose does re-defining the term ‘fully vaccinated’ serve if nearly all vaccine mandates have been lifted? After all, besides personal choice and your opinion on whatever protection the vaccine does or doesn’t confer, the term ‘fully vaccinated’ only has meaning within the context of restrictions and requirements.
This, of course, suggests that the Canadian government isn’t quite done with mandates.
Indeed, other ministers all but explicitly stated they would return this Fall: that’s why they’re calling the temporary end to the travel ban and federal mandates a “suspension” and not an outright “repeal.”
“If the situation takes a turn for the worse, we are prepared to bring back the policies necessary to protect Canadians,” said Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs Dominic LeBlanc.
However, should the federal government mandate boosters come Fall, it isn’t clear how many Canadians are willing to comply this time around.
Currently, only 48.6 per cent of the population have received the booster dose, and this figure has practically flatlined, with fewer and fewer Canadians rolling up their sleeves as time goes on.
Moreover, it’s hardly encouraging that the federal government has essentially conceded that vaccine mandates and restrictions aren’t necessary — especially after they failed to prevent Trudeau’s active COVID case from entering Canada.
Doing a 180 on this position appears untenable. But as with the first vaccine mandates, it’s not impossible.

Doctors are sounding the alarm on the damage that lockdowns have had on children’s immune systems, with some saying that kids are coming in with as many as three illnesses simultaneously.
According to pediatricians at the Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital, children have begun piling into the hospital with an alarming number of respiratory viruses, even though the regular flu season is over.
The viruses found include rhinovirus (the cause of the common cold, which rarely hospitalizes people), adenovirus, human metapneumovirus, respiratory syncytial virus, influenza, and parainfluenza. They’ve even begun diagnosing more kids with COVID, which has been linked with other surges.
“That’s not typical for any time of year and certainly not typical in May and June,” explains infection-control expert and Yale professor Thomas Murray.
Other pediatricians have noted that not only are respiratory viruses becoming more prevalent, but symptoms also seem to be getting worse than usual.
Moreover, those dealing with the sudden surge say that much can be attributed to lockdowns and isolation from everyday activities that would have built up young immune systems.
“It’s a massive natural experiment,’ said epidemiologist and chief science officer at eMed Michael Mina.
“The moment you stop seeing a virus on this regular cadence, as happened during the pandemic, that natural balance is upset,” he continued.
“The extraordinary measures we took to limit exposure to the coronavirus — necessary steps to contain a deadly new foe — also limited our exposure to other viruses. If you do get exposed to a virus again once too much time has passed, you may not be able to protect yourself as well, leading to out-of-season surges across the population and surprisingly virulent infections for individuals.”
He adds that not only has this time away from regular life impacted the ability to fight off viruses but it’s also increased the window for kids to be infected by viruses rarely experienced outside Fall and Winter.
“When you have a lot of people who don’t have immunity, the impact of the season is less. It’s like free rein,” Mina said.
The profound, long-lasting effects of lockdowns are made worse by the fact that risk from COVID is highly correlated with age (which Bill Gates recently conceded). This suggests that most kids weren’t at risk from COVID but may have sacrificed their immune systems to keep the elderly safe.
And that’s without mentioning the potential adverse reactions that come with taking the COVID vaccine for a virus that posed a next-to-zero risk for the young.
Study suggests natural immunity is better than vaccination

A new peer-reviewed study suggests the natural immunity of an unvaccinated person offers more robust protection against re-infection than those who received the vaccine before being infected — and offers about the same level of protection as those with ‘hybrid’ immunity.
Accounting for more than 5.7 million people in their study, researchers Goldberg, Yair, et al. concluded in The New England Journal of Medicine that:
“…Protection was higher than that conferred after the same time had elapsed since receipt of a second dose of vaccine among previously uninfected persons.” [Emphasis added]
The researchers compared infection rates among three groups: (1) previously infected, unvaccinated; (2) previously infected, vaccinated, and (3) vaccinated persons with no previous infection. This allowed them to “assess the level of protection afforded by hybrid immunity as compared with that afforded by natural immunity or immunity conferred by vaccination.”
The infection rate for the recovered, unvaccinated group – at 4 to 6 months after infection – is 10.5 per 100,000, which rises to 30.2 at 12 months.
Conversely, the infection rate for the uninfected, vaccinated group – from 4 to 6 months after vaccination – is 69 per 100,000. This is more than twice as high as the infection rate from group 1 in half the time.
Also, the ‘hybrid immunity’ group – meaning recovered and vaccinated – produced similar results as the unvaccinated, recovered group. Indeed, the difference is negligible at 4-6 months and 6-8 months post-infection.
In other words, the so-called ‘hybrid protection,’ which experts said for months was ‘the best’ type of protection, looks no different than protection from natural immunity for unvaccinated persons.
With that said, waning immunity was found in all three cohorts.
This study verifies another previously covered by The Counter Signal that found that both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines offer no long-term protection against COVID-19, particularly with the Omicron variant.
And to this point, Canada’s recent data dump reveals the boosted account for the majority of COVID deaths.

Dr. Geert Vanden Bossche, whose résumé includes roles as a former senior officer of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, as well as a senior program manager for the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI), has been considered one of the most talented vaccine creators in the world.
In a May 18 interview with Australian journalist Maria Zeee, Vanden Bossche said, “that in the next two months, I expect an explosion [of this virulent variant] in one of these highly vaccinated countries. And then it will go very, very fast.”
According to his theory, the resulting suppression of innate immunity in the many individuals who have been injected with these experimental products—which neither eradicate nor prevent transmission of the virus—will lead to “immune escape.”
This concept proposes that vaccinated people will continue to be infected with and shed the virus, which due to the “pressure” exerted by experimental COVID-19 vaccines, will accumulate large numbers of mutations, in turn creating variants which are far more virulent and can no longer be controlled by the vaccines.

The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms has warned the federal minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Disability, Carla Qualtrough, that the government is acting illegally and violating Charter rights by denying EI benefits to Canadians fired from their jobs for refusing a Covid shot.
On October 21, 2021, Ms. Qualtrough gave a media interview stating that in her view, Canadians fired or suspended from their employment for refusing the Covid injections should not be able to receive Employment Insurance.
Service Canada, which administers EI, and the Canada Employment Insurance Commission (the “Commission”) are insisting that unvaccinated employees have been suspended as a result of their own “misconduct”. As a result, Canadians who have paid into employment insurance benefits, sometimes for their whole lifetime, are being denied those benefits.
From the perspective of terminated employees, with the rollout of the Covid vaccines in 2021, numerous employers, including the Government of Canada, attempted to dictate the personal medical choices of their employees by requiring them to take these recently developed shots. Employees who did not comply with these demands were placed on involuntary leave without pay or fired. These are employees who in many cases served on the front lines of Canada’s service, industry and health care sectors.
Few employer vaccine mandates recognize the natural immunity possessed by employees who have already recovered from Covid-19. More significantly, these vaccine mandates have been imposed despite the fact that it has now been demonstrated that Covid vaccines do not prevent individuals from contracting or transmitting Covid. For example, a 2021 study concluded that “clinicians and public health practitioners should consider vaccinated persons who become infected with SARS-CoV-2 to be no less infectious than unvaccinated persons.”
Many Canadians have declined to receive Covid shots based on their personal medical conditions, conscientious objections or religious beliefs, or because the long-term effects of the Covid-vaccines are unknown and the vaccines are still under trials.
The Justice Centre’s letter to Ms. Qualtrough, Service Canada, and the Commission, has warned the government it is acting beyond its’ jurisdiction in creating an arbitrary policy, which does not follow existing case law from court and tribunal decisions ruling on “misconduct”.
“The policy is also in violation of the purpose of the Employment Insurance Act and Canadians’ Charter rights. The government is twisting the meaning of “misconduct” to deny Canadians unemployment benefits if they choose not to take the Covid shots,” states Cynthia Murphy, lawyer with the Justice Centre.
In many cases, employees with medical or religious objections to receiving a Covid vaccine, were not accommodated by their employer and are now being denied EI benefits, in violation of their Charter rights to be free from discrimination and their freedom of conscience and religion.
“In a free country, citizens get to decide which medical treatment they receive. There is no legitimate excuse for Canadians to be labelled as engaging in “misconduct” for refusing the Covid vaccine and to be denied employment insurance in order to fulfill a political purpose that is in direct violation with the law,” concludes Ms. Murphy.

Assorted conspiracy theories, including those of the far right and “dangerous contrarians,” are widely supported in Canada, a new survey by Abacus Data, a leading Ottawa-based research and strategy company, suggests.
The firm conducted a nationwide survey – the second in a series called ‘Trust & Facts: What Canadians Believe’ among 1500 adults – which examined how much they trusted mainstream sources of information and government institutions.
The results of the survey were quite disheartening, as a vast majority of adult Canadians apparently believe various conspiracy theories, the firm said.
“Canadians who want to believe that Canadian society is relatively unaffected by conspiracy thinking will find little comfort in these results. Millions believe that our lives are controlled by secret plots to undermine our interests,” Abacus Data said in a statement as it presented the results of the survey.
Canada’s Freedom Convoy has perfectly exposed legacy media’s conceited bias
Some 44% of respondents – 13 million adults – believe “big events like wars, recessions and the outcomes of elections” are controlled by shady cabals “working in secret against us.”
