Michigan Attorney General Calls for ‘A Drag Queen For Every School,’ Says They ‘Make Everything Better’

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel reportedly said that “drag queens make everything better” and that there should be “a drag queen for every school” while speaking at an event on Wednesday.

Nessel’s remarks came one day after Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene announced that she is introducing a bill to make it illegal to bring children to drag performances.

The Attorney General made the comments while speaking at a civil rights conferenec in Lansing, according to Craig Mauger of The Detroit News.

Mauger tweeted, “‘Drag queens make everything better. Drag queens are fun,’ Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel says at a civil rights conference in Lansing while speaking out against what she describes as efforts to divide people. ‘A drag queen for every school,’ she adds.”

According to the reporter, Nessel added that the “drag queen for every school” line had not been poll tested.

Michigan gubernatorial candidate Tudor Nixon responded to Nessel’s remarks, saying “Attorney General Dana Nessel ‘proudly’ announced she is coming for our kids. When I am governor, schools will answer to local parents, not progressive activists, drag queens, and trans-supremacists. The days of radical activist politicians sexualizing our kids are over.”

In May, Drag Story Hour NYC, previously known as Drag Queen Story Hour NYC, earned $46,000 from city contracts for appearances at venues where children are the prime audience and has received a total of $207,000 in taxpayer cash since 2018, New York Post reports.

“The tally includes $50,000 from New York State through its Council on the Arts, along with $157,000 from the city’s Departments of Education, Cultural Affairs, Youth and Community Development, and even the Department of Transportation,” the Post reported. “Most of the money was allocated by city council members from their discretionary budgets, who set aside $80,000 for the group in the current fiscal year — more than tripling the $25,000 earmarked in 2020.”

Pride Month this year has been jam packed with drag events being marketed towards children across the country in 2022.

On Tuesday, Greene announced her intention to stop it on Twitter.

“I’m introducing a bill to make it illegal for children to be exposed to Drag Queen performances,” the representative wrote.

Schiff: House Select Committee Has Evidence That Trump “Engaged in Likely Multiple Criminal Acts”

Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) went on CNN’s “Don Lemon Tonight” to tout the work of the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6th riot. In that interview, Schiff declared that the Committee has enough evidence showing former President Donald Trump “engaged in likely multiple criminal acts.” While vague on the specific crimes, Schiff emphasized that the Justice Department did not have to wait any further to launch a criminal investigation based on what has already been disclosed. While the Committee has disclosed new evidence in the form of videotapes and testimony, it has not presented new material evidence of criminal acts in my view. That could still come but the first two hearings largely focused on a “conspiracy” to challenge the election certification and allegations that Trump knew the there was no compelling evidence of widespread election fraud.

If there is evidence of criminal conduct by former president Trump or others, most of us would support the calls for prosecution. It is also possible that the Justice Department is investigating such crimes or has undisclosed evidence. The hearings, however, have not established such a foundation. That can still come but these crimes have elements that have not been addressed in hearings that have lacked any opposing views or adversarial elements.

The decision of Speaker Nancy Pelosi to abandon the long tradition of bipartisan members on such selection committee has robbed the investigation of credibility and legitimacy for many Americans.

Indeed, Schiff’s reference to evidence held by the Committee is likely to bring up memories of his highly controversial public statements that the House Intelligence Committee, which he chairs, had direct evidence of Russian collusion despite the countervailing findings of Special Counsel Robert Mueller. He never produced the evidence and later it was revealed that Justice officials and FBI agents had told his Committee that they did not find such evidence.

Now, Schiff is maintaining that:

“I certainly believe there’s enough evidence for them to open an investigation of several people, and so did Judge David Carter of California believes the former president and others were engaged in likely multiple criminal acts. So if the Justice Department concurs with Judge Carter, let alone my own view or others, they should be pursuing that. So, yes, I think there is sufficient evidence to open an investigation. It would be of you up to the Justice Department ultimately to decide does that evidence rise to proof beyond a reasonable doubt such that they’re comfortable indicting someone. But there’s certainly, in my view, enough evidence to open up investigations.”

The reference to the Carter opinion has become a mainstay on cable news. I was critical of Judge Carter’s opinion when it was released. Much of the Jan. 6th hearings seem to be structured along the same lines as the Carter decision which was, in my view, strikingly conclusory and unsupported in critical parts of the analysis.

Judge Carter simply declares that Trump knew that the election was not stolen and thus “the illegality of the plan was obvious.” Putting aside the court’s assumption of what Trump secretly concluded on the election, a sizable number of Americans still do not view Biden as legitimately elected. The court is not simply saying that they are wrong in that view but, because they are wrong, legislative challenges amounted to criminal obstruction of Congress.

FDA Advisors Recommend Emergency Authorization for Moderna’s Covid-19 Shot in Young Kids 6 Months to 5 Years of Age

The U.S. Food and Drug advisory committee on Wednesday voted in favor of authorizing the use of Moderna’s experimental Covid-19 vaccine for children 6 months through 5 years of age.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) conducted a meeting of its Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee (VRBPAC) to discuss the Moderna EUA request for a COVID-19 vaccine for 6 months through 5 years of age and Pfizer-BioNTech EUA request for 6 months through 4 years of age.

The recommendation was the first of two votes called by the FDA vaccine advisors. Later this afternoon, the same committee will also evaluate the experimental Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine for children ages 6 months to 4 years.

“All 21 members of the FDA’s Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee voted “yes” in response to the question: Based on the totality of scientific evidence available, do the benefits of the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine when administered as a 2-dose series (25 micrograms each dose) outweigh its risks for use in infants and children 6 months through 5 years of age?” CNN reported

“The FDA, which typically follows the committee’s decisions, will now decide whether to authorize the vaccine for emergency use in this young age group,” the news site added.

FDA advisors voted 21-0 to authorize Moderna’s vaccine for children 6 months old to 5 years old. The Nordic countries (Germany, France, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland) all paused the use of Moderna for people under 30 due to concerns around rare cardiovascular side effects. But in the US, the FDA advisors believed the benefits of experimental shot outweigh its risks for use in infants and children 6 months through 5 years.

According to the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) data, 49,283 adverse events were reported for ages 5-17 through June 3, 2022, after receiving the Moderna vaccine.

The FDA discussed one of the confirmed cases linked to the side effects of mRNA products from clinical trials for babies. A one-year-old baby suffered multiple seizures but continued in the trial to receive the 2nd dose.
