In response to a pb notable regarding the federal employee vaccine mandate ending June 20, I would like to see sauce. Unvaxxed fed employees continued working while trying to move exemptions through the system, or quit, or refused to “declare” their status which agencies then used as grounds for termination (noncompliance with a federal order). It doesn’t matter now if the mandate ends because the requirements are now enshrined in agency policy as “Safer Workforce.” Agencies are still salivating and coordinating with their legal teams (and the WH teams) to figure out how to remove any remaining unvaxxed employees that squeaked through. At best, federal employees that succeeded in getting an exemption are likely stuck in their current positions because reapplying for a new position opens them up to the agency Safer Workforce policies demanding clot shots and boosters. It’s a game of attrition at this point.

Another interesting side note: feds are publishing a ton of jobs on usajobs but bots are overwhelming their systems where they are setting cutoff limits for the first 100 applications. Out of those 100, between 2-15 are qualified applicants. With the increase in leave donation requests (people severely sick, likely clot shots), obituaries (likely clot shots again) and people leaving/retiring, they’re going to have a hell of a time finding qualified people. But then, they don’t care if they’re qualified because they’re pushing their equity BS and hiring for race/gender status etc. instead of skill.
