GOP Rep. Kinzinger receives chilling threat against him, wife and 5-month-old son

Rep. Adam Kinzinger, one of two Republicans on the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, shared a frightening letter that threatened to “execute” his family, including his 5-month-old baby.

“Here is the letter. Addressed to my wife, sent to my home, threatening the life of my family,” the Illinois congressman posted Sunday on his Twitter account.

The unhinged note, addressed to Kinzinger’s wife, Sofia, begins: “That pimp you married not only broke his oath, he sold his soul.”

The letter then goes on to chillingly warn her husband would be “executed.”

“Therefore, although it might take time, he will be executed.

“But don’t worry! You and Christian [the couple’s infant son] will be joining Adam in hell too!”

In an appearance earlier on ABC News’ “This Week,” the congressman said his wife received the letter a few days ago.

He was asked by host George Stephanopoulos if he fears for his and his family’s safety.

Social Media Posts Could Lead to Gun Confiscation Under Proposed Red Flag Law

“Red flag laws allow us to take action when someone who has a gun begins to act erratically,” Governor Wolf posted. In the social media age, this could include in online posts. “Red flag laws still require due process, and any removal of weapons is temporary,” Governor Wolf continued.

Governor Wolf rebuked Republicans in the House Judiciary Committee for refusing to approve what he called “commonsense” bills addressing gun violence in the state.

Instead of voting to move the four bills to the House for debate, Republicans on the Judiciary committee forced a vote to refer the bills to another committee.

“Shameful. That’s what I’d call today’s action – or, rather, inaction,” Governor Wolf said. “Lawmakers have an opportunity to take commonsense steps, which the majority of Pennsylvanians support. Instead of taking a vote to advance these bills, they are just delaying debate on this legislation. Gun violence won’t delay. Every day the Republicans stall, more people are at risk.

“This isn’t just a ‘Philadelphia’ issue. This is a statewide and national issue that must be addressed. It’s reprehensible that Republicans continue to stall when our own constituents want this addressed right now,” Governor Wolf said. “I urge Republicans to stop these tactics and take action.”

Last week, Governor Wolf sent a letter to the members of the committee calling on them to approve the four bills as they are.

“I have committed to doing everything I can to bring peace to our communities, but ultimately, sensible gun laws save lives, and the General Assembly must act to make statutory changes,” Governor Wolf said. “Communities across the commonwealth – urban, suburban and rural – have experienced the horror of gun violence. We must do our part to prevent these tragedies.”

The letter also alleged that the bills are not meant to take guns away from law-abiding citizens but doesn’t touch on how a social media post with photos of guns could be illegal.

“If the aforementioned bills became law, they would not infringe upon the rights of law-abiding gun owners. This is not about taking guns away from those who lawfully own and operate them, it’s about ensuring guns are appropriately locked up and kept out of the hands of those who are more apt to cause harm.”

The governor concluded: “We can no longer afford to do nothing. Every day that we delay, lives are on the line. Pennsylvanians are counting on you.”

US blackmailed Pakistan into regime change – former PM

Imran Khan says Washington pushed for his removal from power

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has said the US threatened his government with “consequences” unless he is removed from power. Khan lost a no-confidence vote in April.

“In the past 40 years, our leadership has basically bowed down to everything the US has demanded of us,” Khan told the Sunday Times.

The former PM accused Washington of “imperial arrogance” and meddling in his country’s domestic affairs.

Khan said his ambassador in Washington sent him a diplomatic cable in April about a meeting with US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu.

According to Khan, Lu told the diplomat that Pakistan would suffer “consequences” unless the PM is removed from office. Lu assured him that “all would be forgiven” should he be ousted, Khan claimed.

Khan said his criticism of the war in Afghanistan was among the things that drew the ire of Washington. “The Americans never understood the culture of the country or the people they were dealing with,” he argued.

A former cricket star, Khan rose to power in August 2018, when his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party won the election. Four years later, he was dismissed by parliament amid accusations of economic mismanagement.

The US rejected Khan’s repeated claims that his downfall was orchestrated by Washington. “Let me just say very bluntly there is absolutely no truth to these allegations,” State Department deputy spokesperson Jalina Porter said in April.

The Khan government feuded with former US President Donald Trump, who accused Pakistan of harboring terrorists and mishandling foreign aid. Islamabad denied both claims.

Pakistan’s relations with President Joe Biden have also been tense, according to reports.

“We don’t see ourselves building a broad relationship with Pakistan, and we have no interest in returning to the days of hyphenated India-Pakistan,” Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman told reporters during her visit to Islamabad last year.

Boston Area School Loses its Catholic Status After Refusing to Remove BLM and Pride Flags

The Jesuit middle school has said it will continue with its mission regardless of status

A Boston area Jesuit school has lost its Catholic status over refusal to remove both pride and BLM flags from school grounds. A local Bishop revoked the school’s status after a months-long saga.

“The flying of these flags in front of a Catholic school sends a mixed, confusing and scandalous message to the public about the Church’s stance on these important moral and social issues,” Bishop Robert McManus of Worcester said in a June 16 decree.

“The Nativity School of Worcester is prohibited from this time forward from identifying itself as a ‘Catholic’ school and may no longer use the title ‘Catholic’ to describe itself,” he said. “Mass, sacraments, and sacramentals are no longer permitted to be celebrated on Nativity School premises or be sponsored by Nativity School in any church building or chapel within the Diocese of Worcester.”

Canon law states that “no school, even if it is in fact Catholic, may bear the title ‘Catholic school’ except by the consent of the competent ecclesiastical authority,” according to the National Catholic Register.

Bishop McManus said it is his “sacred duty and inherent responsibility” to determine when a school acts contrary, to Catholic teachings and “disregards my legitimate authority as the guardian and overseer of Catholic education in the Diocese of Worcester.”

The bishop went on to list his specific concerns with pride and BLM flags in Catholic schools.

“It is my contention that the ‘Gay Pride’ flag represents support of gay marriage and actively living a LGBTQ+ lifestyle,” Bishop McManus said of the pride flag.

“The Catholic Church teaches that all life is sacred and the Church certainly stands unequivocally behind the phrase ‘black lives matter’ and strongly affirms that all lives matter,” the bishop continued.

“However, the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement has co-opted the phrase and promotes a platform that directly contradicts Catholic social teaching on the importance and role of the nuclear family and seeks to disrupt the family structure in clear opposition to the teachings of the Catholic Church.”

The school will appeal the decision and says it will continue to display the flags. The Massachusetts school added that it plans to continue operations regardless of any action from the diocese.

Since January 2021 the Catholic school has been flying a pride flag and a version of a Black Lives Matter flag. McManus later warned the school that it could lose its Catholic status if it did not remove the flags.

In a June 15 letter to the school community, Thomas McKenney, Nativity School‘s president, said the school was independently funded and will continue forward. “Please know that any decisions made by the diocese will not change the mission, operations or impact of Nativity,” he told the school community.

3 people, 2 dogs jump ship after New Hampshire yacht erupts in flames

A massive yacht caught fire on a New Hampshire river Saturday and sank after three people and two dogs jumped overboard.

The group were onboard the 72-foot vessel, named the Elusive, on their way to a marina on the Piscataqua River in New Castle when they noticed black smoke coming from below the deck at around 4 p.m., the New Hampshire Department of Safety said.

The three people as well as their two dogs jumped into the river as the Elusive went up in flames. All five were rescued by good Samaritans on nearby boats.

The three boaters — identified as Arthur Watson, 67, and Diane Watson, 57, of New Canaan, Connecticut and Jarrod Tubbs, 33, of Jupiter, Florida — were taken to a nearby hospital, treated and released.

The yacht — shown engulfed in flames and dark smoke in photos shared by the Coast Guard — eventually drifted into Maine waters where it sank about two hours after the initial 911 call.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.

The Navy has fired a total of 13 commanding officers so far this year but won’t explain why

The Navy has fired nearly a dozen officers in leadership positions in less than three months, including five in one week, due to a “loss of confidence” in their ability to command — an unusual string of terminations across land, air and sea teams, experts said.

At least nine commanding officers and two senior advisers have been relieved of their duties since April, when a cluster of suicides on the USS George Washington warship sparked widespread concerns of a mental health crisis.

A total of 13 commanding officers have been fired so far this year, including 12 in the Navy and one in the Marine Corps, the Navy said. Most recently, four Naval commanding officers and a top leader were ousted from June 8 to June 14.

It’s unclear what prompted the personnel changes, which the Navy said were unrelated to each other. The Navy did not elaborate further on specific conditions that led to the firings, but stressed the importance of “trust and confidence” across all levels of the chain of command.

“The U.S. Navy has long maintained high standards for all its personnel. Those who fall short of these standards are held accountable,” said Lt. Cmdr. Devin Arneson, a Navy spokesperson, who added that such an action is “neither punitive nor disciplinary.”

None of the leaders served the George Washington, where at least five crew members died by suicide in the last year, angering some sailors and advocates who work to reduce military suicides.

Israel Will Not Punish Police Who Attacked Shireen Abu Aqla Funeral

While the police conducted an investigation into their response to the funeral for Abu Aqla, the Israeli army decided it would not investigate their murder of Abu Aqla

Israeli newspaper Haaretz has reported that an internal investigation by Israeli police into the attack against unarmed mourners during the funeral procession of Shireen Abu Aqla concluded that, despite evidence of misconduct, no police officers will be punished.

Shireen Abu Aqla, the Palestinian-American Al Jazeera journalist, was murdered by Israeli forces on 11 May.

The funeral, which took place on 13 May, was met by Israeli police dressed in riot control gear, who charged at and beat attendees and pallbearers carrying the coffin covered in the Palestinian flag.

The shocking image of police brutally attacking the pallbearers, who almost dropped the casket carrying Abu Aqla spread around the world, causing international outrage at Israeli police conduct.

Israel heading to elections, Knesset to disband, Lapid to become prime minister

Israel will be entering its fifth election in 3 and a half years * Earlier in the day, the government defeated two votes of no confidence

Israel will head to its fifth election in three-and-a-half years, after Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Alternate Prime Minister Yair Lapid gave up Monday on their efforts to stabilize the coalition.

In a joint statement, Bennett and Lapid said that they will bring a bill to dissolve the Knesset to a vote next Monday. This means that elections will likely be held on October 25.

Sources close to Bennett said the duo's goal was to initiate an election on their own terms and not be forced out by opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu.

According to the coalition agreement, Lapid will become caretaker prime minister until the election and until the new government comes into power. He is set to greet US President Joe Biden when he comes to Israel next month.

At a Knesset press conference, Bennett said his move to initiate an election was "not easy" but "the right decision." He said he did everything possible to maintain the government for longer.

"Believe me, we left no stone unturned," he said.

He wished Lapid well, calling him a "mensch" and vowing to ensure a smooth transition of power.

Lapid praised Bennett, for "putting the country before his personal interest" and said their friendship overcame obstacles. He called Bennett "a vital Israeli leader, innovative and brave" and said he had no doubt that his place is in the leadership of this country for many years to come.

"A year ago we started the process of rebuilding, and now: we're carrying it on and carrying it on together," Lapid said. "What we need to do today is go back to the concept of Israeli unity, not to let dark forces tear us apart from within. We must remind ourselves that we love one another, love our country, and that only together will we prevail."

Bennett challenges

Bennett spoke on Friday to Attorney-General Gali Baharav Myara who told him that the West Bank emergency bill could not be bypassed or extended beyond it's June 30 deadline. Because they had no way to pass the bill, Bennett and Lapid decided that it would be better to dissolve the Knesset, which automatically extends the security regulations in the West Bank.

Justice Minister Gideon Sa'ar blamed the downfall of the government on "irresponsible behavior by Knesset members in the coalition." He said the goal of the next election would be to prevent Netanyahu from returning to power and "mortgaging the country to his own personal interest."

There is still a chance that Netanyahu will succeed in forming an alternate government within the current Knesset. This would happen if members of the coalition - from New Hope and Yamina - switch sides and join Netanyahu's right-wing bloc.

Texas GOP adopts anti-LGBTQ platform, refers to being gay as ‘abnormal’

The Texas Republican party adopted a new platform on Saturday that refers to homosexuality as “abnormal” and “opposes all efforts to validate transgender identity.”

The Texas GOP party adopted the 40-page platform at its biennial convention in Houston after passing the party’s new guiding principles, which includes a section titled “Homosexuality and Gender Issues.”

The section includes a formal position declaring the state’s GOP party is against giving a special legal status to gay men or women and that they support people who oppose homosexuality based on faith, religion or a belief in “traditional values.”

“Homosexuality is an abnormal lifestyle choice,” the platform document reads. “We believe there should be no granting of special legal entitlements or creation of special status for homosexual behavior, regardless of state of origin.”

The section also opposes the use of public funds for homosexuality, transgender or diversity and equity inclusion centers as well as for gender-affirming care — while supporting controversial counseling methods intended to “convert” members of the LGBTQ community. Texas does not have a law banning conversion therapy.

A wave of anti-LGBTQ bills have flooded red states this year, with Republican-leading majorities specifically targeting the transgender community.

Texas has passed laws banning the participation of transgender youth in sports and prohibiting the discussion of sexual orientation or transgender identity in public schools. The Movement Advancement Project gives Texas a low rating for LGBTQ rights.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) drew backlash earlier this year when he ordered state officials to investigate parents of transgender children who allow their child to undergo gender-affirming care, which the state’s attorney general Ken Paxton called “child abuse.”

The directive is still being challenged in court after a judge recently halted the investigations.

Khashoggi's ties to extremists face new attention as D.C. renames street after him

Biden under fire for planning to visit Saudi Arabia next month, with critics resurfacing story of slain dissident.

A day after the White House announced President Biden will visit Saudi Arabia next month, the street in front of the Saudi embassy in Washington, D.C. was renamed for Jamal Khashoggi, the slain Saudi dissident who was a columnist for the Washington Post.

Supporters hailed Wednesday's unveiling of a street sign reading "Jamal Khashoggi Way" to honor a man described as a champion of freedom and democracy, echoing the praise heaped on Khashoggi by political elites and mainstream media outlets following his 2018 death.

The ceremonial designation for the block that houses the Saudi embassy will serve as "a constant reminder, a memorial to Jamal Khashoggi's memory that cannot be covered up," said Phil Mendelson, chairman of the D.C. Council, which voted unanimously for the name change.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman approved an operation that resulted in Khashoggi's murder at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, according to a U.S. intelligence assessment released last year.

On Thursday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Biden agrees with the conclusion of that assessment.

"Through his journalism, Jamal Khashoggi was a fierce advocate for democracy, human rights, and the rule of law," said D.C. Council member Brooke Pinto, who introduced the bill to rename the street.

"He knew that by shining a light on Saudi Arabia and seeking truth, he risked his freedom and indeed his life … everyone who visits the embassy in Washington, D.C. will be reminded of Mr. Khashoggi’s courage, and the indispensable values of free speech and a free and independent press."

Beyond the image of a martyred journalist who died defending democratic values, however, critics argue there is another side to Khashoggi's story that has received less attention — one that reveals a political operative who rubbed elbows with extremists and held anti-Western views.

This full picture, according to experts who spoke to Just the News, raises questions about the decision to honor Khashoggi with a street sign in the nation's capital.

Putting a man who wrote and spoke "glowingly" of Osama bin Laden "on the same level as some of the men and women who have founded and served the United States is a particularly embarrassing travesty," said Kyle Shideler, director for homeland security and counterterrorism at the Center for Security Policy.

Shideler was alluding to the fact that Khashoggi was a close friend of bin Laden, and said that he cried when the al Qaeda leader was confirmed dead in May 2011.

"I just fell apart crying heartbreak to you, Abu Abdullah," Khashoggi tweeted in Arabic hours after the U.S. raid that killed bin Laden, referring to him by his nom de guerre when fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan in the 1980s.

"You were beautiful, brave in those beautiful days in Afghanistan before you succumbed to anger and passion."

The Lethality of the Global Monroe Doctrine

This month, as part of its policy to dominate the American hemisphere, the United States government organized the 9th Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles.

U.S. President Joe Biden made it clear early on that three countries in the hemisphere — Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela — would not be invited to the event, claiming that they are not democracies.

At the same time, Biden was reportedly planning a visit to Saudi Arabia – a self-described theocracy. Mexico’s President Andrés Manuel López Obrador questioned the legitimacy of Biden’s exclusionary stance, and so Mexico, Bolivia, and Honduras refused to come to the event. As it turned out, the summit was a fiasco.

Down the road, over a hundred organizations hosted a People’s Summit for Democracy, where thousands of people from across the hemisphere gathered to celebrate the actual democratic spirit which emerges from the struggles of peasants and workers, students and feminists, and all the people who are excluded from the gaze of the powerful.

At this gathering, the presidents of Cuba and Venezuela joined in online to celebrate this festival of democracy and to condemn the weaponization of democratic ideals by the United States and its allies.

Next year, 2023, will be the bicentennial of the Monroe Doctrine, when the U.S. asserted its hegemony over the American hemisphere. The malign spirit of the Monroe Doctrine not only continues but has now been extended by the U.S. government into a kind of Global Monroe Doctrine.

In order to assert this preposterous claim on the entire planet, the United States has pursued a policy to “weaken” what it sees as “near peer rivals,” namely China and Russia.

In July, Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research — along with Monthly Review and No Cold War — will produce a booklet on the reckless military escalation by the U.S. government against those whom it sees as its adversaries — mainly China and Russia. It will include essays by John Bellamy Foster, editor of Monthly Review, Deborah Veneziale, a journalist based in Italy, and John Ross, a member of the No Cold War collective. In the vein of that booklet, No Cold War has also produced Briefing No. 3, “Is the United States Preparing for War with Russia and China?” on Washington’s sabre-rattling and alarming march toward nuclear primacy.

Draft of House Defense Bill Includes $450 Million for 'Ukraine Security Assistance'

Taxpayers in NATO countries have been asked to shell out tens of billions of dollars for military aid to Ukraine, with the US alone pledging some $54 billion in support - equivalent to more than four/fifths of Russia's 2021 defense budget.

The House of Representatives has proposed granting Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin the authority to provide up to $450 million in security and intelligence assistance to Ukraine in fiscal year 2023 - $150 million more than the amount previously requested by the White House.

The bill "includes $450 million for the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), which provides support and assistance to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, an increase of $150 million above the budget request," the House Armed Services Committee said in a document released Monday, summarizing its 547-page Fiscal Year 2023 National Defense Authorization Bill.

Other Ukraine-related measures in the bill include the requirement for "updated security strategies" for US non-NATO European partners, and quarterly briefings to Congress on efforts to replenish stocks of tactical missiles given to Kiev by the US and its allies.

The legislation also requires the dozens of US bases dotting Europe to "adopt installation energy plans to increase energy resiliency and sustainability in order to reduce reliance on" Russian energy, and asks the Pentagon to set a formal goal to eventually eliminate "their use of Russian energy entirely."

The bill further proposes "reporting on efforts by the Russian Federation to expand its presence and malign influence in Latin America and the Caribbean," and on the operations of Russian private military contractors in Africa, plus any efforts by Moscow to build naval bases on the continent.

As for China, along with a $6 billion funding package for a 'Pacific Defense Initiative', the bill calls for an assessment of any "dual-use technology that the Chinese Communist Party might exploit," and "policy solutions that align with the National Defense Strategy." Additionally, it proposes an assessment of fuel distribution in the Indo-Pacific, calls for enhanced defense cooperation with US partners in the region, marks a formal expression of "congressional support for the US defense relationship with Taiwan," and requires the head of US Indo-Pacific Command to brief Congress on "support and sustainment for critical capabilities necessary to meet operational requirements in a conflict."

"Strategic competitors like Beijing and Moscow have threatened the security, freedom, and prosperity of people living around the world by seeking to erode the rules-based international order. This mark supports investments in the alliances and partnerships that the United States needs to meet these challenges, including more than $6 billion in funding for the Pacific Deterrence Initiative and nearly $4 billion for the European Deterrence Initiative," House Armed Services Committee chairman Adam Smith said in a statement.

Facebook Removes Greitens "RINO Hunter" Campaign Ad

Update (1333ET): Facebook on Monday removed Greitens' video, saying that it violated "our policies prohibiting violence and incitement."

In response, Greitens accused the tech giant of censorship

"Facebook CENSORED our new ad calling out the weak RINOs. When I get to the US Senate, we are taking on Big Tech," he wrote in a Facebook post.

Twitter, meanwhile, has not removed the video - but has instead added a notice that reads: "This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules about abusive behavior. However, Twitter has determined that it may be in the public’s interest for the Tweet to remain accessible."

The social media giant will also limit engagement with the post, preventing users from giving it a "like" , "reply" , or retweeting it.

Saudi Arabia Bans Rainbow Toys, Clothing With 'Homosexual Colors' Weeks Before Biden Visit

Weeks ahead of President Biden's much anticipated and controversial trip to Saudi Arabia, where he'll meet with crown prince Mohammed bin Salman, the kingdom is cracking down on any items, including toys, with a rainbow on them.

The commerce ministry put clothing and toy stores on notice over "rainbow colors" in the capital of Riyadh - saying such items will now be banned as they "contradict the Islamic faith and public morals and promote homosexual colors targeting the younger generation."

The commerce ministry is currently reviewing and putting together a list of banned items.

An official statement said, "We are giving a tour of the items that contradict the Islamic faith and public morals and promote homosexual colors targeting the younger generation."

"Targeted items include rainbow-colored bows, skirts, hats and pencil cases, most of them apparently manufactured for young children, according to a report by the state-run Al-Ekhbariya news channel," the AFP reported days ago.

Given that children's toys often have rainbow colors even before the era of 'Gay Pride flags', and given the symbol began to be widespread in Western societies and media over the past half-decade, it's unclear if the more innocuous 'non-signaling' toys will made it past the Saudi censors.

DeSantis Doubles Down on Vaccinations, Says Florida Will Not ‘Jab’ Babies

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has doubled down on his policy of “no jabs for babies” at a press conference in Callahan on June 20.

“We recommend against [vaccinating babies],” the governor told the crowd. “We are not going to have any program where we’re trying to jab six-month-old babies with mRNA. That’s just the reality.”

DeSantis pushed back on media coverage that painted Florida in a bad light for the policy decision and accused the White House of spreading misinformation and trying to shame the state into submission.

“It’s what they do,” he said of the negative media coverage. “We’re not surprised the White House would amplify the lie because that’s what they do—they thought somehow we would be like embarrassed by that.”

The White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told news outlets on June 17 that DeSantis had “reversed course and is now ordering vaccines,” which led Florida press secretary Christina Pushaw to fire back accusing Jean-Pierre of “spreading disinformation.”

“Florida is not placing any orders of COVID shots for zero to 5-year-old babies and kids,” Pushaw posted on Twitter.

“What they have couched as a reversal is actually the governor’s steadfast position that … Florida does not recommend, nor distribute, shots for babies. Health care providers that want the vaccines can obtain them and any parent who wants it for their child can get it.”

“No state policy change in Florida. The only thing that’s changed was the federal government issued the EUA [emergency use authorization] for the shots today,” she continued. “Retract your lies.”

On June 15, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) advisory panel voted unanimously to recommend Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines for children as young as six months saying that the benefits outweigh the risks.

The governor said that after studying the data—and looking at what other European countries are doing—he said Florida will not be ordering the vaccine for children.

“We’re following the data,” DeSantis said. “I would just caution people, look at the actual data in the clinical trial. It’s the weakest possible data that you could possibly see … doesn’t even track the outcomes.”

DeSantis said that people can do what they think is right for their children.

“Our Department of Health has looked at it. There is no proven benefit to put a baby on mRNA so that’s why our recommendation is against it,” he said.

An area of concern with the clinical trials was that the FDA was not taking into consideration the very young children who had recovered from COVID, the governor said.

“They don’t have any clinical data on that,” he said. “These people in Washington have rejected the idea of natural immunity—they said that the vaccine was better than prior infection and every credible study that’s been done has said that’s not the case.”

Lithuania changes tune on Kaliningrad blockade

Vilnius insists it did not introduce any additional restrictions but is actually adhering to EU sanctions

Lithuania’s Foreign Ministry on Monday handed a note to Moscow’s chargé d’affaires in the country explaining the application of EU sanctions on the transit of a number of goods between mainland Russia and Kaliningrad, a Russian exclave nestled between Poland and Lithuania.

Vilnius insists that it has not outright banned transit between the exclave and the rest of Russia and has not introduced any additional restrictions. Lithuania maintains that the transit of passengers and goods not subject to EU sanctions will continue through its territory as usual.

“Lithuania has not imposed any unilateral, individual, or additional restrictions on the transit. Lithuania has consistently implemented EU sanctions, which have different transition periods and deadlines for entry into force,” read the note.

Earlier, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis stated that the decision to impose these restrictions was made by Vilnius after consulting with the European Commission and was implemented under its guidance.

Lithuania’s state railway service, LTG Cargo, which operates the only overland rail route that links Kaliningrad with mainland Russia, announced on Saturday that it will no longer allow the transit of EU sanctioned goods through its territory.

The service cited a clarification from the European Commission stating that if sanctioned goods and cargoes travel from one part of Russia to another, but through the territory of the EU, their transit should be prohibited.

Russian authorities have since slammed the move as an ‘economic blockade’ of Kaliningrad Region. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov noted on Monday that Vilnius’s decision was “unprecedented” and “a violation of anything and everything.”

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that Vilnius’s “provocative” actions are a violation of the country’s international legal obligations to allow the transit of cargo between Russia and Kaliningrad. She said that Russia sees this move as “openly hostile” and that unless Lithuania immediately lifts these restrictions, Russia reserves the right to “defend its national interests.”

Meanwhile, the head of Russia’s commission for the defense of state sovereignty, Andrey Klimov, has argued that Lithuania’s move was an act of “direct aggression” against Moscow and that unless the EU brought its member state to heel, Russia would have a free hand to “solve the problem of the Kaliningrad transit created by Lithuania by ANY means chosen by us.”

According to Kaliningrad Governor Anton Alikhanov, who warned of Vilnius’s intentions on Friday, the new restrictions, which ban the transit of goods such as coal, metals, construction materials and advanced technology, will affect nearly 50% of all cargo flow to the region.

Ukraine SitRep - Lysichansk Cauldron - Sinking Morale - More Provocations

The former CIA and intelligence bigwig Graham Fuller predicts a gloomy outcome of the U.S-Russia proxy war in Ukraine. Gloomy for Ukraine, the U.S. and Europe:

Contrary to Washington’s triumphalist pronouncements, Russia is winning the war, Ukraine has lost the war. Any longer-term damage to Russia is open to debate.

American sanctions against Russia have turned out to be far more devastating to Europe than to Russia. The global economy has slowed and many developing nations face serious food shortages and risk of broad starvation.

There are already deep cracks in the European façade of so-called “NATO unity.” Western Europe will increasingly rue the day that it blindly followed the American Pied Piper to war against Russia. Indeed, this is not a Ukrainian-Russian war but an American-Russian war fought by proxy to the last Ukrainian.

Contrary to optimistic declarations, NATO may in fact ultimately emerge weakened. Western Europeans will think long and hard about the wisdom and deep costs of provoking deeper long term confrontations with Russia or other “competitors”of the US.

Europe will sooner or later return to the purchase of inexpensive Russian energy. Russia lies on the doorstep and a natural economic relationship with Russia will possess overwhelming logic in the end.

Europe already perceives the US as a declining power with an erratic and hypocritical foreign policy “vision” premised upon the desperate need to preserve “American leadership” in the world. America’s willingness to go to war to this end is increasingly dangerous to others.

All the above had already been said on this website in late February and March. But it is good to see that seasoned intelligence people are now coming to similar conclusions.

Two weeks ago I wrote that the Ukrainians will soon reach a breaking point. Today's 'clobber list' by the Russia Ministry of Defense has an additional part about Ukrainian troop loses that supports that take:

Since May 19, during the month, only the 14th Mechanised Brigade of the AFU has lost 2,100 persons who resulted dead and wounded. Due to low moral and psychological conditions, 800 persons destined for replenishing the losses of this unit, refused to go to the operational area and accused officers of incompetence, bribery and cronyism in paying money allowance.

About 100 servicemen of a reconnaissance unit of the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade have been relieved of combat duty and transported to Kremenchug for investigation.

A considerable part of the commanders of the 30th Mechanised Brigade of the AFU have abstracted themselves from managing their units and refuse to fulfil combat tasks. All kinds of pretexts are used for simulating illness. The majority of units have already been left without any officers.

Rudy Giuliani and GP’s Cara Castronuova Ask the FRAUDULENT January 6th Committee “Did You Forget to Mention the Death of Rosanne Boyland?”

The January 6th Unselect Committee Hearings reconvene this Tuesday and Thursday to push their baseless lies and conspiracy theories to discredit President Trump, demonize his supporters and continue to politically persecute Americans. These non-factual “hearings” are massively tanking in the ratings as Americans are waking up to the nonsense.

Some are tuning in to other programming that actually intends to honestly get to the bottom of what really happened on January 6th. For example- what happened to our fellow citizen Rosanne Boyland that day? Why has this sham committee omitted mention or investigation of her death from their hearing? Trump attorney & confidante Rudy Giuliani has taken interest in Rosanne Boyland’s story and is getting the truth out.

On our end, we at The Gateway Pundit broke the Rosanne Boyland story with multiple breaking news articles and have been fighting for her. We have been doing the work that the failing Liz Cheney and her Democrat friends refuse to do– that is actually investigate what really happened on January 6th. We will continue to bring you factual information that you will not hear from the Government. We do not need a Hollywood Producer or millions of dollars of tax payer money to get you the truth- because the truth defends itself.

On Day One of their Propaganda Programming, the Misinformation Committee had alluded to an absolutely unfounded and baseless conspiracy theory that somehow President Trump colluded with the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers in an attempt to overturn the election with a “Seven Point Plan”. They made big promises to prove this in hearings to come, yet have not mentioned it since. In fact they have yet to provide a single iota of evidence to support their outright framing and slandering of numerous American Citizens rotting in jail awaiting their criminal trials for their participation in this CONCOCTED plan of “Seditious Conspiracy”.

“The only conspiracy was that by the January 6th Committee, The Biden Regime, the FBI and the Department of Justice,” said Tina Ryan of Citizens Against Political Persecution. “Their intricate conspiracy includes fabricating a false narrative, slandering American citizens, manipulating and hiding evidence and data including videos, withholding exculpatory evidence from the public and J6 defendants, locking men and women in jail with no due process, influencing juries with their lies, and conspiring with their allies in the media to re-write history when it comes to President Trump and January 6th. One day these parties will be held accountable in a criminal court for what they are doing.”

Ryan continued:

“They lied to us on night one with the false promise of proving “Seditious Conspiracy” by The Proud Boys and Oath Keepers in order to get people to keep tuning in. That is how outright evil they are. They would literally frame our fellow Americans and slander their names before their criminal trials (with NO proof to show) in order to get better ratings. This is the most un-American committee and they must all be investigated by a future committee for crimes against humanity. They are literally trying to influence the midterm election with their lies, the future 2024 election and THE RESULTS OF THE CRIMINAL TRIALS OF THE PROUD BOYS AND THE OATH KEEPERS.”

Elon Musk Calls The Influence Behind The Democratic Party ‘Next Level Insanity’

Last week, Elon Musk, the Tesla, SpaceX, and Starlink CEO gave an interview where he called out the unions’ “stranglehold” on the Democrat party, calling it “next-level insanity.”

During the hour-long interview, Musk criticized the Democratic Party, their relationship with labor unions, and Tesla’s exclusion from a White House electric vehicles event because the company is not unionized.

Musk took particular issue with the Democratic Party’s strong relationship with union leadership.

“The general public is not aware of the degree to which unions control the Democratic Party. One does not need to speculate on this point,” Musk started.

Musk’s two largest enterprises, Tesla and SpaceX, are not unionized. Musk attributes this decision not to unionize to the “negative unemployment” in the Bay Area. The employees at either company have multiple other job opportunities they could pursue, Musk claims.

“Last year, Biden held an EV summit where Tesla was explicitly not allowed to come, but the [United Auto Workers] was. So, Tesla has made two-thirds of all the electric vehicles in the United States,” Musk said during his interview.

“So, deliberately excluding us from an EV summit at the White House, but including UAW, tells you everything you need to know,” he said.

The UAW is one of the most well-organized and politically powerful unions in the United States, influencing both political parties.

“They have so much power over the White House that they can exclude Tesla from an EV summit… insane,” said the tech billionaire.

Musk expressed his disdain for President Biden’s choice to praise General Motors (GM) CEO Mary Barra at the summit. Biden touted GM as the leader of the “EV revolution” in a quarter when GM made a mere 26 electric vehicles.

“That’s some next-level insanity,” he said.

During the interview, Musk Highlighted the financial bailout given to GM. He noted that Tesla did not take a bailout and had worked to pay interest on loans used to build his company. He used the example to highlight the government’s bias towards the unionized automaker giant.

He pointed out that the EV tax incentives given to the major automakers are not extended to Tesla either. He notes it as a significant tax advantage to other makers who have failed to capture the market share that Tesla has acquired during its existence.

Data from National Statistics in England Reveal Almost 530,000 Vaccinated Have Died Including Non-COVID Deaths Between January 2021 and March 2022

On May 16, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) in England published its most recent data on deaths by vaccination status involving deaths with COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 deaths. These deaths occurred between January 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022 in England.

For this analysis, ONS defined death as either the COVID-19 virus identified (code U07.1) or the COVID-19 virus not identified (code U07.2) is mentioned on the death certificate.

“In contrast to the definition used in the weekly deaths released, deaths where the post-COVID condition, where the acute COVID had ended before the condition immediately causing death occurred is mentioned on the death certificate, and neither of the other two COVID-19 codes are mentioned are not included, as they are likely to be the result of an infection caught a long time previously, and therefore not linked to the vaccination status of the person at the date of death. Deaths involving multisystem inflammatory syndrome associated with COVID-19 where neither COVID-19, virus identified nor COVID-19, virus not identified are mentioned are also excluded,” NSO explained.

The vaccination status was categorized based on the following:

vaccinated with first dose only, less than 21 days after first vaccination

vaccinated with first dose only, at least 21 days after first vaccination

vaccinated with first and second doses, less than 21 days after second vaccination

vaccinated with first and second doses, at least 21 days but less than 6 months after second vaccination

vaccinated with first and second doses, at least 6 months after second vaccination

vaccinated with first, second and third dose and/or booster, less than 21 days after third or booster vaccination

vaccinated with first, second and third dose and/or booster, at least 21 days after third or booster vaccination

NSO also included an “Ever vaccinated” category (totals of the vaccinated population), which includes anyone who has had at least 1 dose of the vaccine, regardless of further doses.

“Spring boosters are not distinguished in this analysis,” NSO stated.

Table 3 of the analysis: Whole period age-standardized mortality rates by vaccination status for all-cause deaths, deaths involving COVID-19 and deaths not involving COVID-19, per 100,000 person-years, England, deaths occurring between 1 January 2021 and 31 March 2022.

In this table, a total of 107,035 deaths were recorded by NSO comprising COVID-19, virus identified and COVID-19, virus not identified under the ‘unvaccinated’ group between January 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022 in England.

For the ‘vaccinated,’ a total of 463,837 deaths were recorded from ‘All causes of death.’
