There are two kinds of psyops. Those targeting the general population which usually are over the top and easy to spot by anyone who is aware of their existence (e.g., mass-shooting sprees, gas attacks in Syria).
And there are those meant for people who run psyops themselves. They have to be subtle and lure the enemy into a trap.
I have the feeling that this was very likely a psyop of the second kind.
