I have 5 AC units and it was 103F today and live totally off grid. What does off grid have to do with it? Also how does the water stay cool? It takes power to make the ice and who dumps it into the cooler?
Albeit this works, for perhaps boating or such, but what off grid setup would benefit?
A danfoss compressor freezer runs on 12v also, and one single solar panel laid atop the freezer lid would keep a body frozen indefinitely even without a battery (insulated well enough for thermal containment until daylight returns) even if the freezer was sitting on a desert island.
