The Ashanti - African slave traders from as far back as 300 BCE. Kente Cloth is linked toelitism, sexism and the slave trade. Britannica says that the Ashanti owned and traded slaves before they had contact with Europeans.
Slavery was a way of life back then. In the US, people fought and died to end black slavery. Anon knows, slavery is still a huge problem. Wonder when someone is going to address all slavery?
