You're mis-interpreting scripture. Jesus said “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be BETTER for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea."
A large reason people don't believe is because of the actions of and the nonsense taught by the catholic church and other churches. The false apostles of revelation 2.2 are those who claim apostolic succession and authority off of Peter, which means stone.
In Revelation… "And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all."
