āThe man who bought Londonā: Qatar billionaire behind Prince Charles scandal
Former PM of Qatar was one of Timeās āmost influential peopleā and named in both Panama and Pandora Papers
From 2000 until 2013, al-Thani oversaw a series of high-profile investments in corporate Britain that included Harrods, the Shard (which is owned 95% by Qatar), Londonās Olympic Village and Park Laneās InterContinental hotel.
According to the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, it was revealed that al-Thani used offshore companies to manage his superyacht moored in Mallorca, Al Mirqab, which is estimated to be worth $300m.
Qatarās investment in Barclays during the financial crisis in 2008, when al-Thani was prime minister, became the centre of a criminal trial over the controversial services deal struck between the lender and the small Gulf state. Three former Barclays executives were accused of devising fraudulent advisory services agreements to disguise payments worth Ā£322m to Qatar.

Speaking of the Rothchilds, I just ran into this interesting piece from 2015:
The secretive London family at war over its millions
Questions over tax ā hotly denied ā feature in a row centring on one of the capitalās biggest art collectors
Despite being based in London, Nigeria, Benin, Togo and Ghana, their companies are owned through a complex array of trusts in offshore tax-free destinations such as Panama and Guernsey. The trusts were set up with the help of two Rothschildās Bank entities in Guernsey. These are also defendants in the Salem civil case and deny any wrongdoing.
