At first I had trouble believing this human trafficking shit. How could there be so many slaves in the age of FB, email, etc? Then I remembered that about 3 years back that a friend told me a very troubling story.

He was associated with a Football team in a State Capital city. One drunk night he told me that some of his players or maybe it was coaches got wasted on the main nightclub street. Shit got wild and the guys broke into a nearby house to take a piss and while they were in there started breaking shit. One guy heard something weird so he opened a door, and there it was.

A bunch of asian people locked up in cages.

I can't remember what age range he told me they were. That's when the house occupants, an older asian couple came down from upstairs and chased them out of the house. They ran straight to the cops sitting down the street and told them of what they just saw. They didn't care if they got busted for B&E and whatnot because getting those people rescued was more important.

The cops went to the house and started asking questions. Obviously there was broken glass all over the floor but they assured the police that nothing was wrong and that they didn't want to press charges. They said whatever they thought it would take for the cops to leave and it worked. The cops never went in the house. Who would they believe? A nice old asian couple or a bunch of wasted fucktards? The whole thing was brushed off and disappeared. Noone ever took the story seriously. The most fucked up part is this was at most a mile away from the state capitol building. I brushed off the story at first but then I realized that my friend had never told me a lie before and had nothing to gain by telling the story. I think I'm going to press him some about it and see what he remembers of it. I want to dig into it and make those responsible pay for what they are doing. This happened 3-4 years ago but I'm betting there are enough crumbs out there to figure out who these people were.
