Democrats who normally condemn the GOP for members who say the 2020 election was "rigged" are now spending millions to prop up one such candidate in Colorado.
Democrats in Colorado have reportedly bankrolled over $4 million worth of ads, mailers, and more to buttress Republican Senate contender Ron Hanks in a risky gambit so incumbent Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO) can face a candidate perceived as weaker in the general election.
"Ron Hanks believes Pres. Biden’s election was a fraud. If elected, he’ll try to ban all abortions, and basically get rid of gun control laws," a text from Democratic Party volunteers to Republican voters said, the Denver Post reported.
Democratic Colorado, a liberal super PAC, has been accused of distributing mailers to voters falsely claiming that Hanks was endorsed by the Colorado Republican Party, attracting lawsuits from top rival Joe O’Dea and the state GOP.
Hanks, a state legislator running against O'Dea, a businessman, for the Republican nomination, attended former President Donald Trump's rally at the White House ellipse before the Jan. 6 riot, but he has denied participating in the riot at the Capitol. Hanks claimed there was "evidence of fraud in multiple states" to suggest that President Joe Biden was not fairly elected.
Several months ago, he cut an advertisement blowing up a faux voting machine from Dominion Voting Systems, which has faced allegations that it tampered with the election results to the benefit of Biden. The company has adamantly denied these claims and filed multiple defamation suits against high-profile backers in response.
Ron Hanks was the only Colorado GOP Senate nominee to qualify for the ballot via the assembly process.

O’Dea has maintained that "Biden’s our president. He’s lousy," per the Colorado Sun.
Democratic-linked groups have also worked to back other Republican primary candidates in the Centennial State perceived as being too extreme. In ads and other communications to voters, they have facetiously argued that Republican gubernatorial candidate Greg Lopez and 8th Congressional District contender Lori Saine are "too conservative."
This primary cycle has seen scores of GOP candidates who back claims that the 2020 election was an illegitimate triumph in their respective races. At least 108 candidates who have cast doubt on the 2020 election clinched Republican nominations or advanced to runoffs, according to a June 14 analysis from the Washington Post.
Some Democrats caution the trend of choosing to help right-wing opponents could backfire, saying that not every case works and that the successful boosting of Republican Todd Akin by former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) in his 2012 primary race is not applicable across the country.
"This has to be done very carefully," McCaskill cautioned, according to NPR.
Bennet has served three terms as senator and has held a double-digit lead in recent polling from ProgressNow and others. But Republicans have been expected to surf a red wave in the midterm elections, leaving Democrats scrambling for ways to stave off a total wipeout by defending incumbents in states such as Colorado and Washington.
The primary election for Colorado is slated to take place Tuesday night.

With the eyes of the world on the G7, Beijing reminded the West that it’s outnumbered by its competitors
Amid high-profile meetings of the G7 and NATO leaders, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian posted an image on Tuesday pointing out that despite being referred to as “international society,” the G7 countries actually account for a small percentage of the world’s population.
Depicting the leaders of the G7 countries alongside the leaders of the BRICS nations,the image noted that the population of the former amounts to 777 million, while the BRICS countries are home to 3.2 billion people.

After the summit in Germany over the weekend, the G7 leaders departed for Madrid, where the US-led NATO alliance is meeting to draft its new Strategic Concept – a document that outlines its mission and stance toward non-members. In its first update since 2010, the document will address China as a “challenge,” and according to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, “will make clear that allies consider Russia as the most significant and direct threat to our security.”
Just days before the G7 summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and the leaders of Brazil, India, and South Africa, met virtually for the less-reported summit of the BRICS nations. The group, denoted by an acronym composed from the first letter of its member nations’ names, includes four of the world’s top ten economies and represents more than 40% of the planet’s population and 30% of its GDP.
While the BRICS group is not a formal alliance in a military or economic sense, its members are often united in opposition to the Western consensus. Save for Brazil, none of the BRICS nations voted with the US and its allies to condemn Russia’s military operation in Ukraine at the UN General Assembly in March, for example, and China and India have stepped up their trade links with Russia since then.
The bloc may soon expand too.Argentina and Iran applied last week for membership, with the Iranian Foreign Ministry describing BRICS as a “very creative mechanism with broad aspects,” and Argentinian President Alberto Fernandez said that the platform could “implement an agenda for the future that will lead to a better and fairer time.”
During the BRICS summit last Wednesday, Putin said that the five-member group was working on setting up a new global reserve currency “based on a basket of currencies of our countries.”

Pumping up” Ukraine with Western weapons will only lead Russia “to perform more missions on the ground,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday.
Speaking at a press conference, the minister claimed that the position of the West when it comes to the situation in Ukraine wais “absolutely counterproductive and harmful.”
“The more weapons is pumped into Ukraine, the longer this conflict will last, the longer the agony of the Nazi regime, which is supported by Western capitals, will last,” he said.

In accusations related to a shopping mall in the Ukrainian city of Kremenchug, allegedly hit on Monday by the Russian forces.
The minister referred to the earlier statement by the Russian Defense Ministry according to which the military targeted an hangar with American and European weapons and ammunition. Detonations set fire to the shopping center, which was empty, Lavrov stressed.
“I am saying it to emphasize the fact that the longer weapons are supplied, which are designed to prolong the conflict, prolong the suffering of civilians who constantly live under shelling by the Ukrainian neo-Nazi movement, the more missions we will perform on the ground,” Lavrov said.
He added that “these missions will be completed.”
Lavrov's remarks came asthe leaders of G7agreed to continue supporting Ukraine, both militarily and financially, “for as long as it takes.”

I watched on OAN guys move barricades out of the way. There was a guy in regular clothes, plus a few guys dressed as what looked like police officers run forward and the guy in street clothes turned around and was running backwards like he was directing a movie waving the crowd in. You could tell the people were unsure what to do, the guy kept waving them to come to him, like a movie. Only saw it once, then could never find that again.
