Theres many ways this could be done depending on who did it. This site is not just one server. its many loadbalanced behind a firewall/loadbalancer as are all large sites. You could compromise one server and restart it without anyone noticing an outage. You could edit values stored in the memcached cache. Lots of ways. Its all speculation. I and others are showing the possibilities. q needs verification
