Oral arguments were heard on February 28, 2022. Besides other factors raised, the Court considered if aspects of the case fell within the major question doctrine, which requires the judiciary to defer to Congress rather than executive agencies on matters with significant impacts and outcomes if Congress did not explicitly grant that power to the agency.[26] The Court's decision is expected in 2022.
