Secret Service: ‘We Were Not Asked’ to Confirm Cassidy Hutchinson’s J6 Story

The Secret Service’s communication chief stated on Wednesday the agency was not asked to corroborate Cassidy Hutchinson’s Tuesday testimony before the January 6 Committee, where she claimed with secondhand knowledge that former President Donald Trump tried to commandeer “the Beast” after his rally that day.

“[W]e were not asked to reappear before the Committee in response to yesterday’s new information and we plan on formally responding on the record,” Anthony Guglielmi wrote in an email to Politico. “We have and will continue to make any member of the Secret Service available.”

Just hours after Hutchinson leveled the accusations against Trump, NBC News reported that Bobby Engel, Trump’s Secret Service man on duty on January 6, would testify under oath to contradict Hutchinson’s story of Trump’s alleged attempt to commandeer the Beast.

With the threatened debunking of Hutchinson’s testimony under oath, the 25-year-old’s attorney, Jody Hunt of Alston & Bird, alleged Hutchinson simply recounted to the committee what she was told secondhand.

“Ms. Hutchinson testified, under oath, and recounted what she was told,” Hunt wrote. “Those with knowledge of the episode also should testify under oath.”

Politico reported Wednesday afternoon the committee had already interviewed the Secret Service agent in question, Engel, whose testimony “is not known to include the stunning details Hutchinson described.”

“It’s not clear why the select panel didn’t seek further corroboration from the Secret Service as it planned Hutchinson’s hearing,” Politico reported. “Members of the select committee have said they welcome any more information about the Secret Service altercation that witnesses would provide under oath.”

=White House Promotes Website Advising Children About Hiding Abortions from Parents

The White House responded to the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade by promoting a website advising children how to hide their abortions from their parents.

“If you need information on your state’s laws or legal help, you may consider this website: AbortionFinder.org,” the Department of Health and Human Services advised in a published release to the press that was also promoted by the White House.

The website informs children 15 years old or younger that parental requirement laws demand that parents and guardians must be involved with the decision to have an abortion.

“If you need to avoid involving a parent or guardian, contact the If/When/How Judicial Bypass Helpline for information about getting a judicial bypass,” the website advises.

The website was recently assembled by abortion supporters to simplify the process for people to get abortions.

“We made Abortion Finder because we saw firsthand that for too many people, the process of figuring out where and how to get an abortion is confusing, complicated, and overwhelming,” the organizers wrote on their website. “We want it to be easier.”

The website partners with the National Abortion Federation (NAF), Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), and Advancing New Standards in Reproductive Health (ANSIRH).

The website also offers advice about how to prepare for an abortion, what to bring, what to expect, and how to physically recover from the procedure.

“Avoid any substances that will alter your mental state, like alcohol, cannabis, or other drugs, on the day of your abortion,” the website advises.

Police shut down internet and ban gatherings in India after two Muslims record themselves murdering a tailor over an insult to Muhammed

Law enforcement authorities shut down the internet and banned large gatherings across regions of India after two Muslims recorded themselves murdering a tailor over an insult to Muhammed.

The two men brazenly confessed to their grisly crime in a second video where they explained that they were angry at the tailor for supporting a politician that had insulted the Islamic figure Muhammed.

They had pretended to be customers at Kanhaiya Lal's shop in the state of Rajasthan in the northwestern region of India. While the tailor was taking measurements of one of the pair, they slit his throat and attempted to behead him.

They were unsuccessful in completely severing the man's head from his body.

They recorded the killing on a cellphone and posted the video on social media, outraging people across the country.

NATO declares China a ‘threat’ for the first time as it outlines ten-year strategic plan

NATO has warned China and Russia pose a security threat in its 10 year strategic plan as the security alliance formally invited Sweden and Finland to join the 30-member bloc in a blow to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The blueprint plan pointed to Beijing using "malicious" hybrid and cyber operations and a "confrontation rhetoric" while distributing disinformation to target allies and "harming" alliance security.

NATO also argued the superpower nation used the strength of its economy to "create strategic dependencies" to "enhance its influence".

"The PRC employs a broad range of political, economic and military tools to increase its global footprint and project power, while remaining opaque about its strategy, intentions and military build-up," the statement read.

"It strives to subvert the rules-based international order, including in the space, cyber and maritime domains."

The group also recognised the strong relationship between Russia and China and their attempts to "undercut the rules-based international order" to its values and interests.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese - who was invited to the summit as part of the "Asia Pacific 4" - echoed the threat remarks of Beijing and Moscow when he delievered a speech to the security alliance.

"Just as Russia seeks to recreate a Russian or Soviet empire, the Chinese government is seeking friends, whether it be … through economic support to build up alliances to undermine what has historically been the Western alliance in places like the Indo-Pacific," he said.

Mr Albanese earlier said Beijing "should be condemning" Moscow's deadly actions in the Ukrainian invasion that is into its fifth month.

California DOJ Breaks Silence After Massive Leak Of Gun Owners’ Private Info

The California Department of Justice broke its silence Wednesday after the names, drivers license numbers, addresses and other private information of thousands of gun owners in the state was leaked from a gun database.

The state Department of Justice is providing credit monitoring services for gun owners whose private information was exposed by the leak.

“DOJ will directly contact individuals who have been impacted by this incident and will provide instructions to sign up for this service,” the DOJ said in the statement.

The leak exposed the private information of all gun owners who applied for a concealed carry permit between the years 2011 and 2021. The information exposed included the names, date of birth, gender, race, driver’s license number, addresses and criminal history of the gun owners.

Thousands of civilians, including 244 judges and 420 reserve officers were exposed in the leak.

Information was compromised from the contents of five other gun registries, including the Assault Weapon Registry, Handguns Certified for Sale, Dealer Record of Sale, Firearm Certificate Safety and Gun Violence Restraining Order.

“DOJ is investigating the extent to which any personally identifiable information could have been exposed from those dashboards and will report additional information as soon as confirmed,” the statement said.

The social security numbers of those on the list were not leaked, according to the DOJ.

“This unauthorized release of personal information is unacceptable and falls far short of my expectations for this department,” Attorney General Rob Bonta said. “I immediately launched an investigation into how this occurred at the California Department of Justice and will take strong corrective measures where necessary.

“I am deeply disturbed and angered,” Bonta said.

Those in possession of or using the private information leaked from the registry are guilty of a crime, the DOJ said, referring to California penal code 530.5. The code stipulates that “Every person who willfully obtains personal identifying information … shall be punished by a fine, by imprisonment in a county jail not to exceed one year, or by both a fine and imprisonment.”

Aidan Johnson, director of Federal Affairs at Gun Owners of America, told the Daily Caller the leak represented a serious lack of regard for the privacy of California gun owners.

“This ‘mistake’ by anti-gun Californian bureaucrats demonstrates either serious negligence or blatant disregard for the privacy of citizens who wish to defend themselves with a firearm in public,” Johnson said. “Gun owner registries, especially of those licensed to carry firearms in public, are a dangerous infringement on the Second Amendment.”

Judge Clears Trump of Contempt in New York Attorney General’s Witch Hunt Probe

Last month a New York Judge agreed to lift a civil contempt charge against President Trump if he pays $110,000 in fines.

The judge on Wednesday ruled Trump is no longer in contempt after failing to turn over subpoenaed documents in New York Attorney General Letitia James’s witch hunt probe.

CBS News reported:

A New York judge ruled Wednesday that Donald Trump is no longer in contempt for failing to turn over documents demanded in a subpoena by the state’s attorney general.

The former president’s April 25 contempt finding came after he contested a December subpoena seeking records related to his personal finances and the financing of several properties. Trump claimed he had no material that was responsive to the subpoena, leading to demands by the judge and the office of New York Attorney General Letitia James that his attorneys provide detailed explanations of how they conducted their search.

“Although we are pleased that the court has lifted the contempt finding, we maintain that it was wholly unwarranted and improper in the first place,” Alina Habba, an attorney for Trump, said in a text message. “We will push ahead with our appeal to secure justice for our client.”

A couple months ago New York Judge Arthur Engoron held Donald Trump in contempt and ordered a fine of $10,000 per day that he refuses to turn over documents to New York Attorney General Letitia James.

“Mr. Trump, I know you take your business seriously, and I take mine seriously, I hereby hold you in civil contempt and fine you $10,000 a day,” Engoron ruled.

The documents that James requested related to the Trump Organization’s business dealings. She claimed that the organization manipulated property values for tax purposes.

Trump’s lawyers submitted sworn affidavits arguing the former president cannot find the subpoenaed documents.

Trump’s lawyers are still moving forward with an appeal because they believe the contempt finding was “wholly unwarranted.”
