It’s All Going Woke As The National Archives Says The U.S. Constitution Has ‘Harmful Language’

As you celebrate Independence Day this year with family and friends the left is up to their old tricks.

The National Archives now has a warning label on the US Constitution.

The webpage of the U.S. National Archives that hosts the nation’s founding Constitution has a “harmful language alert” for readers at the top of the page.

The warning now occurs on many pages on the archives.org website and links to a page entitled “NARA’s Statement on Potentially Harmful Content.”

The Archives’ defines harmful language in numerous variations. However, it appears to have a liberal, more left-leaning bias in determining what it deems as harmful or offensive.

It considers any language reflecting racist, sexist, ableist, misogynistic/misogynoir, and xenophobic opinions and attitudes as harmful. Albeit, the definition behind some of the terms is subjective to the reader, and many have no specific definition in societal norms.

It also notes that discriminatory language towards or excluding diverse views on sexuality, gender, and religion is offensive. Again, this is subjective, and a person’s views of sexuality or religion can be acceptable or offensive based on one’s biases.

It also classifies language as offensive when demonstrating bias and exclusion in institutional collecting and digitization policies.

According to the site, Archivists choose what language to use when describing materials. It notes that some of the documents in the archive contain descriptions written many years ago, using language accepted at the time.

When you click the warning links, the disclaimer reads, “The Catalog and web pages contain some content that may be harmful or difficult to view. NARA’s records span the history of the United States, and it is our charge to preserve and make available these historical records. As a result, some of the materials presented here may reflect outdated, biased, offensive, and possibly violent views and opinions. In addition, some of the materials may relate to violent or graphic events and are preserved for their historical significance.”

For five decades I have been fighting the absurd myth that drug companies and doctors have prolonged life expectancy.

This, I’m afraid, is a self-serving piece of propaganda which exists solely to promote the pharmaceutical industry and the medical profession.

The simple fact is that at the end of the 19th century, and the beginning of the 20th century, infant mortality was horrendously high.

Babies often died before they reached their first birthday.

And this gave the impression that life expectancy for adults was lower than it was.

It’s simple to explain.

If one baby dies just after birth, and another baby lives to be 80 then the average life expectancy is around 40 years.

Better drinking water, better sewage facilities, better housing and better food mean that today it is uncommon for babies to die. The infant mortality rate has improved dramatically.

And this has had a dramatic effect on average life expectancy.

If one baby in 100 dies just after birth, and the other 99 live to be 80 then the average life expectancy is close to 80 years.

This statistical anomaly enables drug companies, and the medical establishment, to claim that they are responsible for improving life expectancy – and deserve massive amounts of applause.

The truth is that the change in life expectancy is almost entirely due, as I said earlier, to cleaner drinking water, better sewage facilities, better housing and better food.

Very few major improvements have been made by medical science.

The biggest development was the serendipitous discovery of antibiotics nearly a century ago.

And the advantage antibiotics gave us over infections has been squandered by absurd overprescribing and by allowing farmers to give antibiotics to most or all of their cattle. These disastrous errors have led to the development of antibiotic resistant bacteria.

Drug companies and doctors have had virtually no impact on life expectation. Indeed, it is possible to argue that, on balance, they have done more harm than good. Certainly, thirty years ago I produced clear evidence that doctors are one of the three biggest killers – alongside cancer and circulatory disease.

But the medical establishment, and journalists bought by the pharmaceutical industry, continue with their favourite and most powerful lie, suggesting that they and they alone are responsible for improving life expectation.

Naturally, they refuse to debate the myth because they know they will lose the debate.

Several NYC Election Sites Had 'No Republican Ballots' During Last Week's Primary

Last week's primary voting in New York City was a complete debacle - as the city's Board of Elections botched everything from polling locations opening late because of 'lost keys,' to missing equipment, to unannounced relocations of voting sites, to a lack of Republican ballots across at least three Big Apple election sites.

"We showed up to the poll site in Brooklyn, we showed up at 5 a.m. … and there was no key," Spencer Mestel, a freelance writer, told the New York Post on Tuesday afternoon, adding that he saw poll workers turn away an elderly woman with a walker because they couldn't get in.

"The police officer on site didn’t have a key, the Board of Elections didn’t give [the site coordinator] a key, I watched her call the Board of Election multiple times … [but] no one helped us," added the journalist who has served as a NYC election worker for the past decade.

The building was eventually unlocked at 7:30 a.m. by the building's superintendent - more than 90 minutes after voters should have been able to start casting ballots.

Meanwhile, the Board of Elections failed to deliver equipment to one south Brooklyn location

The BOE's response? Election day had gone "very smoothly" and voters had been notified of site changes.

"If a human error occurs, it’s regretful and, in large measure, we correct immediately," said BOE deputy executive director, Vinny Ignizio. "All told, we’ll run eight elections this year and this primary election has run very smoothly."

Speaking of human error - at least three NYC election sites told voters they had no Republican ballots, according to the Post.

One voter, Ed Gavin, 62, arrived at his Bronx polling site in Spuyten Duyvil around 8:15 a.m. to cast his vote for GOP gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino but after checking in with a poll worker, he was handed a Democratic ballot instead, he said. -NYP

"My party never came up, my political preferences were never discussed … I opened the sleeve and I saw the names of Tom Suozzi, Kathy Hochul and Jumaane Williams. These were all Democrats for governor," said Gavin, a retired Department of Correction deputy warden. "I flipped it over because I thought maybe the Republicans were on the back but there were no Republicans."

"They told me ‘we don’t have any Republican ballots,'" he added. "I said to the gentleman, ‘that is very concerning.’"

The Post verified the lack of Republican ballots at the polling site Gavin visited.

"We couldn’t find the ballots earlier, but we have them now," said a poll worker.

Gavin was pissed..

"This is the most important gubernatorial election of my lifetime because crime is on the ballot, bail reform is on the ballot, criminal justice is on the ballot," he said, adding "[Former Gov. Andrew] Cuomo essentially ruined this state … with the state of the city right now, we need a Republican in power."
