Parliament is expected to pass legislation allowing pistols to be carried for self-defense, the interior minister’s adviser says

Ukrainians could gain the right to carry pistols for self-defense as early as next year, according to an adviser to the country’s minister for internal affairs.

Citing an unspecified poll, Viktor Andrusiv claimed on Sunday that 70% of Ukrainians support the relevant legislation, which was approved at the first stage by the country’s parliament on February 23 – the day before Russia launched its military offensive.

He said amendments were now being prepared for the second reading of the bill.

“The legislation will be adopted during the summer [or] autumn,” Andrusiv said, adding that the creation of weapon registries would take some time after that.

“Perhaps additional decisions will be made so that we can maintain control over the circulation of weapons – check whose it is, how the registration process will take place, in which periods the gun owner must undergo inspections,” the ministerial adviser explained.

He emphasized that the whole discussion is “only about pistols,” not about grenade launchers or Kalashnikov assault rifles.

According to the explanatory note of the legislation, which was supported at the first reading by 274 out of 352 MPs, the law would allow citizens who find themselves “in a situation of extreme necessity” to protect their own, as well as other people’s “life and health,” with the use of firearms.

According to the note, “firearms are the most effective means for citizens to exercise their constitutional right to self-defense.” The legislation’s authors also claim that a “vast majority of the developed countries of the world” have provided their citizens with this right and thus reduced the number of violent crimes.

As of February, the number of unregistered firearms in Ukraine amounted to between three million and five million, according to the document. Therefore, a main purpose of the bill is to streamline the rights and obligations for the production, acquisition, ownership, disposal, and use of weapons and ammunition.

On June 3, Fyodor Venislavsky, a member of the Rada’s Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, spoke out in support of legalizing automatic firearms in Ukraine, not just short-barreled ones.

Following the launch of the Russian attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that his government would “give weapons to anyone who wants to defend the country.”

Kremlin Says 4 Dead After "Deliberate" Ukrainian Missile Attack On Russian Border City

However, as BBC also notes, "Ukraine dismissed the claim, saying the Russians had lied about similar incidents in the past."

Belgorod is near Ukraine's large northern city of Kharkiv. Lying just 25 miles north across the Ukrainian border, the major city in Russia's south has 370,000 residents.

It's not the first time potentially 'errant' missiles have struck Russian territory - or also it's not the first time Russia has accused Ukraine of a deliberate cross-border attack, but the damage and death toll is the most significant and extensive thus far, with a major emergency response at the scenes of impact ongoing.

An Al Jazeera war reporter inside Ukraine said of the alleged incident: "We are trying to piece together exactly what happened through social media reports. Al Jazeera cannot confirm anything that either side is saying at this point."

Correspondent Alan Fisher added: "What appears is that somewhere around 25 missiles were fired towards the airport which is a Russian base in Belgorod. It appears that some of those missiles may have hit a residential area. That’s certainly what the media is saying …"

If this figure of a volley of more than two dozen rockets proves accurate, it would indeed strongly suggest the Russian city was deliberately targeted, and wasn't merely an incident with a few errant missiles.

Meanwhile, some observers are speculating that Ukraine could possibly have used recently provided US long-range rockets to hit deep within Russia's borders, which if true would signal massive escalation in the war.

Starting a week ago, Ukraine began touting that its US-suppled M142 HIMARS, a high mobility artillery rocket system with a range of 40-50 miles (the range of the version of the system Washington transferred last month), is having success against Russian forces on the battlefield.

Google Aids Illegal Abortions, Deleting Trip History For Users Who Visit Abortion Clinics

In the wake of the Roe V Wade reversal, prominent corporations have taken steps to continue to support killing unborn children, and Google is taking the most extreme steps by aiding in illegal abortion.

On Friday, the tech giant announced it would begin erasing the trip history in its Google Maps and other subsequent software for users who travel to abortion clinics.

The company behind the internet’s dominant search engine and the Android software that powers most of the world’s smartphones outlined the new privacy protections in a Friday blog post.

The notice stated, “Some of the places people visit — including medical facilities like counseling centers, domestic violence shelters, abortion clinics, fertility centers, addiction treatment facilities, weight loss clinics, cosmetic surgery clinics, and others — can be particularly personal.”

It says, “Today, we’re announcing that if our systems identify that someone has visited one of these places, we will delete these entries from Location History soon after they visit.”

Google notes its commitment to stop government overreach, “We remain committed to protecting our users against improper government demands for data, and we will continue to oppose demands that are overly broad or otherwise legally objectionable.”

While privacy is good, and many of the locations mentioned are safer with such privacy, there is a problem. In many states after the Supreme Court ruling that ended Roe, abortions, except those required to save a mother’s life, are now prohibited by law. There is growing concern from users that records about people’s location, texts, searches, and emails could be used in prosecutions against abortion procedures or even for medical care sought in a miscarriage.

Google has now made a clear statement it will help to aid and abet those who willingly choose to break the law.

Now New Yorkers who request a concealed carry permit must provide the social media history to authorities.

Then government bureaucrats will decide if you qualify for a permit.

These new rules totally disregard the Supreme Court ruling earlier this week that New York’s law that includes strict rules for concealed carry in the state.

In their decision, the Supreme Court struck down the New York law requiring people to demonstrate a particular need for carrying a gun in order to get a license to carry one in public.

Prior to this ruling, the state could decide who it wanted to have this right and who it didn’t.

It appears from Governor Hochul’s response that she is openly ignoring the recent decision.

New Yorkers may have to share their social media history and character references to obtain permits to carry concealed firearms in public, according to legislation signed by Gov. Kathy Hochul on Friday evening.

Those seeking gun permits would have to disclose both their active and inactive social media accounts from the past three years as well as provide references the state can contact to confirm their “good moral character,” the legislation states. The requirements are just one component of several proposed changes to New York gun laws after parts of its existing restrictions on concealed carry permits were struck down in a Supreme Court ruling last week.

Declassified Doc Shows UK Knew In Real-Time It Was Helping Terror Groups In Overthrowing Gaddafi

Britain’s military knew that fighters from an Al Qaeda-linked terrorist organisation were benefiting from the overthrow of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, but continued to support NATO airstrikes in Libya for another two months.

The revelation raises serious questions about British foreign policy and whether the U.K.’s then Prime Minister David Cameron misled Parliament.

In early September 2011, Cameron updated the House of Commons about the situation in Libya, telling MPs:

“This revolution was not about extreme Islamism; Al-Qaeda played no part in it.”

However, the Ministry of Defence (MOD) had assessed the month before that: “The 17 February Brigade is likely to be an enduring player in [the] transition” away from Gaddafi’s regime and had “political linkages” to Libya’s rebel leadership, the National Transitional Council.

The 17 February Brigade, also known as the 17 February Martyrs Brigade, was a hardline Islamist militia named after the date the uprising began against Gaddafi. Its ranks included Salman Abedi, who went on to murder 22 innocent people in the Manchester Arena terrorist attack in 2017.

The MOD assessment said, “Many 17th February Brigade fighters have affiliations with the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamist groups, such as the Libyan Islamic Movement for Change (formerly LIFG).”

The LIFG, or Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, was banned by Britain in 2005 as a terrorist organization over its links to Al Qaeda. Its supporters included the Manchester bomber’s father, Ramadan Abedi. The organization rebranded to the Libyan Islamic Movement for Change during the 2011 war.

Although the LIFG’s leadership renounced ties to Al Qaeda as part of a prisoner release deal it made with Gaddafi shortly before the 2011 uprising, many of its members continued to hold violent Islamist views. It was not until 2019 that the ban was lifted on the LIFG in the U.K.

Misleading Parliament?

The MOD has only released a portion of its assessment to Declassified following a freedom of information request. It is not clear whether the intelligence was shared at the time with ministers.

Dr. Liam Fox, who was defence secretary during the war, told Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee in 2016: “I do not recall reading any reports that set out the background of any Islamist activity to specific rebel groups.”

Fox was responding to a question from the committee about whether he was aware that members of the LIFG were participating in the rebellion.

Lord William Hague, who was foreign secretary, told the committee: “Libyan leaders themselves did not have a deeper understanding of what was happening in their own country” and so “it is probably wrong to expect somebody sitting in the backrooms of the Foreign Office or Vauxhall Cross [MI6 headquarters] to know better than they did.”

Russia Says Its Forces Have Full Control of Ukraine’s Luhansk Region

KYIV–Russia said it had taken full control of the eastern Ukrainian region of Luhansk on Sunday after capturing the final Ukrainian bastion of the city of Lysychansk, where Kyiv said it had withdrawn to save the lives of its troops.

The region’s capture, a key Russian war aim, hands Moscow a boost after weeks of slow advances and shifts the battlefield focus to neighboring Donetsk region, where Kyiv still controls substantial territory.

After pulling back from northern Ukraine and the capital Kyiv in the spring, Russia has concentrated its military operation on the industrial Donbas heartland that comprises the Luhansk and Donetsk regions, where Moscow-backed separatist proxies have been fighting Ukraine since 2014.

Russia says it is capturing Luhansk region in order to give it to the Russian-backed Luhansk People’s Republic whose independence it recognized on the eve of the war.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu informed President Vladimir Putin that Luhansk had been “liberated”, the defense ministry said, after Russia earlier said its forces had captured villages around Lysychansk and encircled the city.

Ukraine’s military command said its forces had been forced to retreat from the city.

“The continuation of the defense of the city would lead to fatal consequences. In order to preserve the lives of Ukrainian defenders, a decision was made to withdraw,” it said in a statement on social media.

Ukrainian officials, who say references to “liberating” Ukrainian territory are Russian propaganda, had reported intense artillery barrages on residential areas.

West of Lysychansk in Donetsk region, at least six people were killed when the Ukrainian city of Sloviansk was hit by powerful shelling from multiple rocket launchers on Sunday, local officials said.

Russia’s defense ministry also said on Sunday it had struck military infrastructure of Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city in the northeast, where a Reuters reporter said Ukrainian forces had been building fortifications after nightly shelling.

Outside a school in Kharkiv, some residents threw debris into a large crater created by an early morning rocket strike while others got help repairing damaged houses.

“The wife was lucky that she woke up early in the morning because the roof fell exactly where she had been sleeping,” one resident, Oleksii Mihulin, told Reuters.

About 70 kilometers (44 miles) from Kharkiv on the Russian side of the border, Russia also reported explosions on Sunday in Belgorod, which it said killed at least three people and destroyed homes.

“The sound was so strong that I jumped up, I woke up, got very scared and started screaming,” a Belgorod resident told Reuters, adding the blasts occurred around 3 a.m.

Moscow has accused Kyiv of numerous attacks on Belgorod and other areas bordering Ukraine. Previously, Kyiv has said such incidents as payback for Russia pounding Ukrainian urban areas into rubble.

White supremacist group Patriot Front marches through Boston, assault black man

A white supremacist group took to Boston’s “Freedom Trail” for a surprise march Saturday afternoon.

Tempers flared between bystanders and a group of about 100 Patriot Front members, who wore beige khaki pants, blue shirt uniforms and white masks while wielding shields, according to The Boston Herald.

The group flew colonial and upside-down US flags along with some banners representing Benito Mussolini’s National Fascist Party as they marched through the heart of the city ahead of Independence Day, the paper said.

At one point, a skirmish erupted between multiple white supremacists and a black man they were taunting, according to the report.

“If you truly wish for safety, you will have it. But you can take nothing else with you,” an unmasked member of the group reportedly told onlookers through a bullhorn in front of the Boston Public Library.

“Not your home, not your family, not your liberty. There you will be alone with your safety in a rotted world.”

Boston officials quickly admonished the protest.

“To the white supremacists who ran through downtown today: When we march, we don’t hide our faces. Your hate is as cowardly as it is disgusting, and it goes against all that Boston stands for,” Mayor Michelle Wu, a Democrat, tweeted.

“We remember Boston’s legacy as the cradle of liberty, we celebrate the continued fight to expand those liberties for all and ensure that Boston will be a city for everyone,” she reportedly told CBS.

Text Messages Show Cassidy Hutchinson Referring To January 6 Committee As ‘BS’

The January 6 committee’s key witness, Cassidy Hutchinson, called the committee “bs” in a text message obtained exclusively by the Daily Caller.

On Feb 1. Hutchinson sent a text to a conservative activist with connections to the First Amendment Fund, which is a group started by the American Conservative Union that helps Trump officials cover costs for Jan. 6 lawyers. Matt Schlapp said Hutchinson approached CPAC for help through the First Amendment Fund. Schlapp said he is happy they did not end up assisting her because she was relaying White House “hallway gossip as fact.”

In the text message, Hutchinson says: “Hey (redacted)! This is Cassidy Hutchinson. Kind of a random question, but do you still work for the Schlapp’s at the ACU?”

To which the person responded, “Hi, Yes!”

Hutchinson then said, “Do you happen to know a First Amendment fund POC I could reach out to? I was subpoenaed in early Nov., but the committee waited to serve me until last week (after Ben’s deposition).”

“I had to accept service because the U.S. Marshalls came to my apartment last Wednesday, but I haven’t made contact with the Committee. I’m just on a tight timeline and just trying to figure out what my options are to deal with this bs,” Hutchinson added.

In another text message reviewed by the Daily Caller, Hutchinson told the conservative activist that she does not want things to get “unnecessarily elevated” in regards to the Jan. 6 committee.

Hutchinson made headlines after testifying before the Jan. 6 committee, where she claimed former President Donald Trump lunged for the steering wheel in an effort to reroute the car to the Capitol where protesters were gathering. Sources close to the Secret Service have denied her claims.

Mayorkas on Biden Administration Performance at Southern Border: ‘I Think that We Are Doing a Good Job’

During an appearance on Sunday’s broadcast of ABC’s “This Week,” Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas downplayed what has been panned as a lackluster effort by the Biden administration at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Mayorkas told anchor Martha Raddatz he thought the Biden administration was doing a “good job.”

RADDATZ: What is the plan on the border? You really do have migrants flooding that area. The peak was during the Trump administration, May of 2019, at 144,000 crossings. In May of this year, you hit 240,000 crossings. You may be telling people to stay away, but they keep coming.

MAYORKAS: I think we saw the tragic result of people taking the dangerous journey in San Antonio just recently, when 53 people lost their lives in the most horrific of conditions in the back of a trailer truck.

We continue to warn people not to take the dangerous journey. We are enforcing our laws. And we are working with countries to the south, including our close partner, Mexico, but with Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, Costa Rica, Colombia, to really address the migration that is throughout the Western Hemisphere.

These are remarkably distinct times, and we have a multifaceted approach, not only to work with our partner countries but to bring law enforcement to bear, to attack the smuggling organizations in an unprecedented way. We are doing so very much. Ultimately, however — ultimately, because the border has been a challenge for decades — ultimately, Congress must pass legislation to once and for all fix our broken immigration system.

RADDATZ: But — but, Mr. Secretary, that does not look likely. And you have Congressmen Henry Cuellar saying that only about 30% of the Border Patrol are doing missions at checkpoints and the border because the other 70% are tied up at detention centers. How do you fix that? Again, the message is not getting out.

MAYORKAS: Well, we are continuing to deliver that message, and we will continue to do so. And for the first time since 2011, the president’s fiscal year 2023 budget calls for 300 more Border Patrol agents. And we are hiring case processers. We are addressing this issue vigorously and aggressively, to address the amount of — the number of encounters that we are experiencing at the southern border.

RADDATZ: Just a simple question: Do you think it’s working?

MAYORKAS: I think that we are doing a good job. We need to do better. We are focused on doing more, and we are doing it with our partners to the south. This is a — this is a phenomena that not only the United States is experiencing. Colombia now has more than 2 million Venezuelans within its borders. Costa Rica has indicated that 2% of its population is Nicaraguan, and that might rise to 5%.

The verified Twitter account for the British Army was taken over by hackers who used it to promote NFTs and announce a fictitious attack on the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

It was unclear whether the account had been recovered or not as of the time of publication, although a large number of NFT (non-fungible token) related retweets remained live on its feed.

Its name has reverted back to ‘British Army’ from ‘BAPESCLAN’, however — described the hackers as the “[number one] metavestor clan on the ETH [Ethereum] chain by a team with milti-billion dollar experience. Powered by @chaintechlabs.”

The hackers’ avatar, an NFT-style monkey dressed like Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker, has also been removed, reverting to the default Twitter placeholder.

Whistleblower: Pfizer’s Main Goal Is To Weaponize The Immune System

A former Pfizer employee turned whistleblower says that the main goal of the COVID-19 injections falsely being labeled “vaccines”, is to weaponize a human being’s immune system to kill itself. Karen Kingston, a former Pfizer employee, and current analyst said that the ingredients in the Pfizer “vaccine” are “poison.”

“Their mission statement is harnessing the immune system’s full potential to fight human disease,” Kingston read on a slide projected on the screen during her appearance at “Matrixxx Grooove with Jeff and Shady” on Brighteon.TV. “I mean, this is straight out of ‘Agent Smith’s mouth.’ I don’t mean to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but then BioNTech is like ‘we’re gonna edit people’s immune system so it kills themselves.’”

Kingston brought up a study published in the National Library of Medicine that states that the SARS-COV-2 virus can directly infect and may undergo limited transmission in human populations. Meaning, the virus is incredibly weak. But if they can just get in there in the form of a spike protein, the immune system will kill itself attempting to eradicate the foreign spike protein.

“They’re like ‘we made a virus, if we can get it into your body, we may be able to do some damage,” Kingston said. “So it’s unlikely that you’ll ever be able to infect another person, and it’s unlikely you’re going to die from it. So we need to further adapt it so that it becomes more deadly and more infectious. And we can say that it’s an epidemic or pandemic,” she said.

This is likely why all colds and cases of flu in the past few years have been called “COVID-19” in order to panic the masses into getting injected with the weaponized spike protein. It also makes sense that those who have taken the shots are experiencing AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome), which is a complete degradation of the natural immune system.

“And just so you know, the original batch was a bio-weapon attack,” Kingston said, adding that the multiple doses of the vaccine are part of a giant experiment. “And so that would explain why we’re having such rash differentiations between reactions to the vaccine. I mean, one person is getting this and one person is getting that. There’s not going to be any consistency, no matter what you look at. And then it seems like a plethora of confusion is what they’re trying to levy against us so that we can’t wade through this stuff so that we can’t understand it,” Townsend said.

FBI rented Istanbul villa for Daesh suspects before alerting Turkish authorities, report reveals

The United States' domestic intelligence agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), is revealed to have rented a villa in Istanbul as a safe house for alleged members of the Daesh terror group, in a case that further proves the bureau's use of entrapment methods.

According to the London-based news outlet Middle East Eye, a veteran undercover FBI operative named Kamran Faridi signed a tenancy agreement and paid the rent for a luxury villa on Istanbul's seafront suburb of Silivri in 2015.

The property was then used as a safe house by several alleged members of Daesh, including a British man named Aine Davis, who is accused of being part of the terror group's cell of British militants labelled the 'Beatles'.

In November that year, Turkish security forces then raided the property arresting the six men hiding inside it. At the time, Turkish authorities hailed the interception of preparations for a major attack in Istanbul.

Almost seven years later, however, the news outlet's report sheds light on the FBI's involvement, citing court papers which show that Turkish prosecutors did not find evidence of any plot but rather that the raid was conducted after the bureau itself tipped-off Turkish authorities about a potential attack.

In a note dated April 2016, the prosecutors stated that "Sufficient evidence could not be obtained to file a public lawsuit… other than the intelligence report of a foreign country, which does not have the quality of evidence".

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky praised Israel’s High Court Sunday after it rejected a government cap on the number of Ukrainian refugees fleeing the war who are allowed to enter the country.

The court on Sunday said Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked could not restrict the number of non-Jewish refugees fleeing the Russian war to just 5,000, rejecting the reasoning behind the policy.

“The rule of law and respect for human rights is exactly what distinguishes a true, developed democracy!” Zelensky said on Twitter shortly after the ruling.

“I commend the decision of the Supreme Court of the State of Israel, which obliges the government of [Israel] to abolish any additional restrictions on the entry of citizens of [Ukraine],” he added.

Thousands of Ukrainians have come to Israel in the wake of Russia’s February invasion of their country.

Under existing regulations, Ukrainians do not need a visa for a visit of up to three months in Israel. In March, Shaked said Israel would allow some 20,000 Ukrainians who were on tourist visas or in the country illegally before the Russian invasion to remain.

She also said Israel grant would visas to a further 5,000 refugees who do not automatically qualify for immigration to Israel under the Law of Return, which allows anyone who has a Jewish parent or grandparent to receive Israeli citizenship.

COVID-19: Israel's health minister recommends wearing masks indoors

Nitzan Horowitz: “We recommend that people, especially the at-risk population, wear masks indoors.”

As the sixth wave of COVID-19 continues to swell, Prime Minister Yair Lapid presided over a meeting in his Jerusalem office on Sunday afternoon to discuss how to cope with the continuing pandemic.

“Maintaining the level of readiness is critical. We are staying on top of it,” said the new premier, as former prime minister Naftali Bennett, Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz and ministry experts and other state officials looked on.

“We are approaching the peak of the global tourist season at all airports, including in Israel. This will have an impact on the speed of infection,” continued Lapid. “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the health minister for making [the surveillance of the disease] a sophisticated system.”
