If the drug companies wanted all physicians to behave a certain way they would simply lobby the elected and then influence the practice of all physicians. They even influence CMS policy dictating reimbursement. That’s why we have core measures that suggest certain drugs be prescribed. If you ignore core measures it impacts your employer’s bottom line (there are less than 1% of total practitioners that are independent today). Healthcare organizations are run by MBAs. Those MBA types are greedy af, and if you do not follow core measures you are out of work. Rinse. Lather. Repeat.
