there were plans to build the trans texas corridor in nafta. parts were built then the overall project was put on hold. they did get a nice low-traffic bypass around austin though…with posted speed limits in some parts of 85 mph.
maybe she'll get a posthumous oscar for it…
this corridor is slated to have protected, high-speed lanes for trucks, dual rail lines in the middle…it's like a trafficking super-highway. they wanted a north american union…no borders. even rush limbaugh railed against it and this was 25 years ago.
not that large for a metro area of nearly 2 million.
