Couple of breads ago, an anon mentioned LaFarge being implicated in funding ISIS in Syria. Went to my new favorite starting point, the Federal Procurement website and sure enough LaFarge was listed as a gubbmint vendor. However something in that search combined with the fekkin' genius of real anons made me think to look for specialty freight vendors and especially State Department freight vendors.

There is potential for a big dig in this data, but what really jumped out was $7.5 million dollars in "SPECIALIZED SHIPPING AND STORAGE CONTAINERS" costs contracted through the Cairo Embassy. (I'm calling it SSSC costs)

In 1994 SSSC costs attributed to Cairo were $35,000.

There were no SSSC costs attributed to Cairo between 1995 and 2012.

In 2012, the SSSC costs attributed to Cairo were $3.5 MILLION and those costs occurred in August/Sept of 2012.

In 2013, the SSSC costs dropped to ~$1.7 Million

In 2014, the SSSC cost was ~$1.9 Million and in 2015, the SSSC cost was $414,000.

These are just the specialty shipping and container costs - no idea what was actually in the containers. Mebbee HRC could let us know???

Off to do more digging….
