Illinois Governor JB Pritzker (D) on Monday immediately called for gun control following a mass shooting at a July 4 parade in Highland Park.

Highland Park police gave an update on the rooftop sniper attack on the northern Illinois Chicago suburb’s Fourth of July parade Monday:

Six people are dead and twenty-four “seriously injured” were taken to the hospital.

The suspect is at large.

The suspect is described as a white male, 18-20 years old with long black hair, small build wearing a white or blue t-shirt

Police also said it appears the gunman was firing from a rooftop, could not confirm he had more than one weapon but should be considered armed.

Illinois Governor Pritzker condemned gun violence after he asked for prayers for the families devastated by the mass shooting.

“But grief will not bring the victims back, and prayers alone will not put a stop to the terror or rampant gun violence in our country,” Pritzker said.

“I will stand firm with Illinoisans and Americans: we must – and we will – end this plague of gun violence.”

Twitter 'Silenced' Physicians Who Posted Truthful Information About COVID, Lawsuit Alleges

Three physicians are suing Twitter, alleging the company violated its own terms of service and community standards when it suspended their accounts for posting “truthful statements regarding COVID-19 policy, diagnosis and/or treatment.”

Drs. Robert Malone, Peter McCullough and Bryan Tyson on Monday filed the lawsuit in Superior Court in California, San Francisco County.

The complaint alleges Twitter breached the terms of its contract when it permanently suspended the plaintiffs’ accounts, silenced their voices and failed to provide them with “verified” badges.

Plaintiffs allege Twitter’s actions were a substantial factor in causing them harm, and are asking the judge to order Twitter to reactivate their accounts.

All three doctors are represented by attorneys Bryan M. Garrie and Matthew P. Tyson (no relation to the plaintiff, Bryan Tyson).

Matthew Tyson on May 12, sent a letter to the directors and managing agents of Twitter requesting the company reinstate the accounts of five physicians, including the plaintiffs, and provide them with “verified” badges. Twitter failed to respond.

In the letter, Matthew Tyson acknowledged Twitter is a “private company” and its terms state it can “suspend user accounts for any or no reason.”

“However, Twitter also implemented specific community standards to limit COVID-19 misinformation on the platform, and Twitter was bound to follow those terms,” he added.

According to the complaint, Twitter’s content-moderation terms included removal procedures for ineffective treatments and false diagnostic criteria, and measures for “labeling” information as “misleading.”

Twitter has a “five-strike policy” as part of its COVID-19 misinformation guidelines and community standards.

West has ‘buried’ freedom of speech – Moscow

The persecution of Russian journalists in the West has reached an unacceptable scale, Russia’s foreign minister has said

The harassment of Russian journalists in the US, Europe and Ukraine has reached “a massive scale,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Monday. Moscow never wanted to take any measures that would affect journalistic freedoms, but Washington and its allies leave Russia with no choice but to reciprocate, the minister told reporters during a joint press conference with Venezuela’s top diplomat, Carlos Faria.

Russia is interested in ending this “war on journalists,” Lavrov said, adding that the Western nations apparently cannot stop it without “losing face.” Moscow cannot just stand idly by given the pressure its journalists are facing, especially since the persecution has reached a scale “that is impossible to bear any longer,” he argued.

“We initially did not want to give a mirror response that would affect journalists’ rights, but the West has buried the freedom of speech with its own hands,” the minister said. He did not announce any new measures against any foreign media in Russia, though.

“It was not us who started this war,” Lavrov said, adding that the West “has just gone too far.” The minister accused Western governments of deviating from the norms of international law and instead creating their own rules that allow them to unilaterally decide what is “freedom of information” and what is “propaganda.”

In particular, the minister referred to French President Emmanuel Macron’s decision to bar Russia’s RT broadcaster and Sputnik news agency, first from covering his campaign in 2017 and later from accessing the Élysée Palace in 2018. He also described both outlets as “organs of influence and propaganda.”

“There is a large number of such examples,” Lavrov said on Monday. Russia’s military operation in Ukraine, which was launched in late February, has further strained relations between Moscow and the West, including in the media field. In response to Russia’s offensive, Western countries introduced bans and restrictions on certain media outlets. As a result of these measures, RT and Sputnik – and even their accounts on some social media platforms – were made inaccessible in the EU. Australia, Canada and the UK have followed suit.

The US has a constitutional ban on overt censorship, but YouTube has blocked the accounts of RT and Sputnik. Russia has retaliated by blocking the websites of several Western state-run outlets, including BBC, Deutsche Welle, Svoboda, and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

Doctor at Scene of Highland Park Fourth of July Parade Mass Shooting Describes ‘Horrific’ ‘Wartime’ Injuries of Dead and Survivors

Dr. David Baum, who says he was at the Highland Park, Illinois Fourth of July parade Monday morning when the rooftop sniper opened fire on the parade, told WMAQ-TV the dead and the wounded had “horrific” wounds that are seen in war. Baum said he performed CPR on a wounded child. Police report six people died–five declared dead at the scene–and twenty-six were wounded in the attack.

Dr. Baum “…All of a sudden you heard these Howitzer-type noises going off. Pow! Pow! I mean a sound I’d never heard before. Um, ten seconds later you hear people screaming, “Bodies down! bodies down!”, and everyone starts scattering. The people who were gone were quickly identified by the paramedics, because they had horrific injuries–the kind of injuries you probably see in wartime, the kinds of injuries that only probably happen when bullets can blow bodies up. And these bodies were, they were gone. They covered ’em up immediately and went on to trying to get other people out. I helped, we, we helped try to move people to a staging area where the ambulances were coming. That’s all we were doing. We didn’t, you know, there was only so much people could do, but, you know.”

Reporter: “I think you, you said earlier when you spoke to us earlier on, on the phone that one of the people you helped was a young child.”

Dr. Baum: There was a young child there that people were, I was doing a little CPR until the paramedics got there. And he looked horribly injured, I’m not sure of exactly of the injury. But, I mean, people were doing anything they could. It was, it’s a mass casualty scene. And there weren’t enough people there immediately but who would have thought, you know…”

Liz Cheney is considering running for President “to protect the nation from Donald Trump”. Of course, Cheney won’t refer to President Trump with his title. That would be too difficult.

Cheney, is the spoiled child of another politician, Dick Cheney. Dick was in politics for years and still may be. He was President GW Bush’s Vice President.

Liz was raised to the top of the Republican party by former Speaker and Trump hater Paul Ryan. Ryan was VP hopeful for another spoiled child of a politician, Mitt Romney. Romney’s father was governor of Michigan.

Cheney and Romney hate President Trump and always will. He is their threat. They see the Republican Party as theirs and President Trump as their enemy. Romney shared this in an interview over the weekend as well.

Liz Cheney, who’s totally biased and hateful, is running the unconstitutional and arguably criminal investigation in the House, that ignores the 2020 Election crimes while making up crimes against protesters of the stolen 2020 Election. Liz is currently on the speaker circuit in DC until they use her up and she goes by the wayside.

Cheney was on ‘This Is Weak’ on ABC where she shared that she hadn’t decided if she was going to run for President in 2024 yet. (What a joke.)

Dem Rep. Schneider on July 4 Shooting: ‘Congress Needs to Take Action’ on Guns

Representative Brad Schneider (D-IL) said Monday on CNN’s “Newsroom” said “Congress needs to take action” on gun legislation in light of the shooting at the Highland Park’s Independence Day parade.

At least six people were killed, and approximately two dozen others were seriously injured.

Anchor Victor Blackwell asked, “Congressman, you say this is your community, quickly, if you would, tell us about Highland Park.”

Schneider said, “Highland Park is a community, one of the northern suburbs of Chicago. It’s a tight-knit community. This parade today, every year, thousands of people gather to celebrate, stand shoulder to shoulder honoring our nation’s birthday and just being a part of the parade. There are floats from the high school bands, the library, the whole community comes together. It’s like communities all across the country that were celebrating the Fourth of July. The fact that an individual, it’s been described as a young male, has decided to take a gun, what is said to be an assault weapon and literally destroy the heart of our community. The people who were killed, the families, they will never recover. They will carry the pains of their loss with them across generations. The people who are wounded will carry those injuries with them the rest of their lives. The entire community, we will come together. It’s a strong community, we will find strength in the support of each other, but it’s going to take a while to recover and heal.”

He added, “Like so many other communities around the nation who are suffering from gun violence, we need help, and Congress needs to take action, whether it’s universal backgrounds, things that 90% of the country supports, universal background checks, making trafficking of guns across state lines illegal. Straightforward things we can do that can respect the Second Amendment but also keep our kids, our schools, our theaters, our communities safer, we need to act, and we need to act soon.”

LA City Council Votes To Ban Homeless Encampments Near Schools

A hearing to reconsider an ordinance banning homeless encampments within 500 feet of schools and daycare centers is set for July 27 after the Los Angeles City Council failed to give the proposal its unanimous approval.

The council voted 10-1 in favor of the ordinance, with Councilman Mike Bonin dissenting. Since the vote was not unanimous, the matter will return to the council for a second vote following the summer recess.

The vote on June 1 came during a sometimes-raucous meeting that was repeatedly interrupted by shouting from the audience.

The ordinance is an amendment to the city’s sweeping law regulating the location of homeless encampments. Municipal Code 41.18 prohibits sitting, sleeping, lying or otherwise obstructing the public right of way in several areas of the city.

Those areas include within 2 feet of any fire hydrant or fire plug; within 5 feet of any operational or utilizable entrance or exit; within 10 feet of a loading dock or driveway; in a manner that interferes with any activity for which the city has issued a permit or restricts accessible passage as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act; or anywhere within a street, including bike paths.

The law already protects the public right of way within 500 feet of “sensitive” facilities such as schools, day care facilities, parks and libraries—but only if each specific location is designated by the council for enforcement.

The amendment given tentative approval on July 1, and approved last week by the council’s Homelessness and Poverty Committee, is a blanket ban on encampments within 500 feet of all schools.

Councilmen Mitch O’Farrell and Paul Krekorian spoke in favor of the ordinance, dismissing allegations by opponents that the council is only trying to cover up the homelessness issue rather than address it through housing and services.

Multiple opponents of the measure began shouting from the audience as the councilmen spoke, bringing the meeting to a halt while Council President Nury Martinez issued warnings then ordered at least three people to be ejected from the council chamber. O’Farrell and Krekorian, both visibly angered, said the conduct exemplified the “bullying” tactics of some organizations. O’Farrell accused them of spreading “disinformation.”

“You can protest all you want, but it doesn’t change the truth,” O’Farrell said. “The truth is the city is engaged in housing people. It is our focus.”
